The "Eccentric History" of "Peacock-Streaming"

1. It was underfunded from day one (5 years ago)

2. It was (is) managed in the precise, opposite direction of how every other "Streaming Service" in the industry is managed.

3. As a result, it only has around 30 million subscribers 5 years later.

It's Ironic That The One Property "Comcast / NBC-Universal" Spent Decades Abusing The "Hell Out of", Bounced Back and "Annihilated" Its "Streaming Service" - (Peacock)

https://cordcuttersnews.com/peacock-is-struggling-because-it-lacks-must-see-tv-no-fix-is-in-sight/

1. Paramount + - "Star Trek"

2. Disney - "Star Wars"...."Indiana Jones"...."Mickey Mouse"...."Marvel"....

3. Netflix - "Stranger Things"....Other great original programming

The moral of the story is....Don't spend decades biting the hand that could have fed you (quite lucratively) in this "Streaming Era"....- "Battlestar".....

The 1970s: When The "Broadcast Networks" Wouldn't Touch "Science Fiction" With a "10 Foot Cattle Prod"

 With one rare exception....

However, in 2025....all of the "Streaming Services" have embraced "Science Fiction" all over the map....

While "Peacock-Streaming" remains locked (after five FAILING years) in not embracing "Science Fiction" the way all of the other "Streaming Services" HAVE embraced the genre.

Therefore, "Peacock-Streaming" still defines itself (behind closed business doors), and after (five failed years), as a....

"1970s Era, Science Fiction Rejecting, Old Fashioned Broadcast Network"....

It's Times Like This When Everyone Should "Weep" For The Future of The Entire "Comcast / NBC-Universal" Corporation

In terms of "Imagination" never being one of its strong suits.

Why "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) FAILED The First Time Around (Commercially) and Always Would FAIL

1. There is NOT a market for FROWNING PEOPLE in outer space attached to the "Battlestar Galactica" brand name. Mental illness in characters does NOT attract "Mass Market Audiences" to a property originally designed to be "Family Friendly." - "Battlestar Galactica 1978."

2. Also what does NOT attract "Mass Market Audiences" to the "Battlestar Galactica Brand Name" is:

a. Rape

b. Murder

c. Depression

d. Prisoner confinement

e. Stolen ideas from the "Rick Berman Era of Star Trek" - (1987-2002)

The "World's Record" Will Always Be Held by "Universal Studios" and ALL of its "Corporate Parents" Spanning "46 Consecutive Years" in "Busting its Rump" to Not Make Money (On Purpose) With "Battlestar Galactica"

Yes, all of the various "Corporate Incarnations" of "Universal Studios" spanning the years 1979-2025 who all had the SAME GOAL:

Not make money with "Battlestar Galactica"....

1. Comcast / NBC-Universal

2. NBC-Universal

3. Vivendi-Universal

4. GE / Universal

If any "Corporate Parents" were missed....

In All Honesty, The Best Definition of "Peacock Streaming" is "Bump On a Log"

What may have been failures for the "CW" and "Paramount +" would have been massive hits for "Peacock Streaming" because its "number count of subscribers" is infinitely smaller than "CW" and "Paramount +."

So, why didn't "Peacock" swoop right in and revive both of them after their cancellations?

Bump on a log....

....in all aspects of the "Streaming Business" it is allegedly in....
