If Bryan Singer And Glen A. Larson Hurry....They Just Might Have a Pre-Production Sketch On a Cocktail Napkin When The Summer of 2012 Rolls Around

It wasn't exactly a stellar (or inspired) duo to begin with now was it? I mean...Bryan Singer and Glen A. Larson charged with the task of delivering a "Battlestar Galactica" movie to cinemas by the summer of 2011? Is it a surprise to anyone that Bryan Singer and Glen A. Larson failed to deliver a "Battlestar Galactica" movie to cinemas this summer....despite the fact that they had 27 months to do so? For the naive or the uninitiated...wishful thinking could always kick in and proclaim...."Well...Singer and Larson will just be a year late and deliver their movie to cinemas next summer in order to compete with J.J. Abrams "Star Trek 2." Quite frankly, expecting Bryan Singer and Glen A. Larson to pull off a successful partnership together (taking into account their individual manifestations of incompetence in all sorts of areas) is like expecting the Democrats and the Republicans to pull off a productive working relationship together.
I more than suspect that Bryan Singer has absolutely no idea how to pull off a successful "Battlestar Galactica" theatrical film. I also suspect that he is as devoid of original and inspired thinking as Ronald D. Moore is even if pre-existing source material is dropped in his lap. As for Glen A. Larson...all the movies he has ever announced at comic book conventions have only existed in his head...and even a frontal lobotomy wouldn't get these movies out of his head and up on cinema screens. Glen A. Larson has pioneered the concept of his elderly years eventually catching up with him long before any of his "dream movies" ever reach the cinema screens (if they do at all)....and I suppose he should be saluted for it in some strange way....It is an original invention of his....after all.
Of course....if Glen A. Larson really were the creator of "Battlestar Galactica" instead of the late Leslie Stevens....we would have seen more passion and drive from Glen A. Larson in bringing "Battlestar Galactica" back to television or the big screen during the past 33 years....instead of his innate lethargy over the entire issue. Glen A. Larson has behaved precisely the way any custodian of something he did not create would behave...and we would expect him to behave. He would have no desire whatsoever to revive what he did not create....because not being the creator of what he has been custodian over for the past 33 years would render him absolutely devoid of any inspired ideas as to how to bring back....what he never created. Leslie Stevens on the other hand....was the "idea guy" behind the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series...and if he had owned the rights 20 or so years before his death....we would have seen a revival of this series as far back as 1982. Instead....the nonsense of this relentless mismanagement of the property has been tied up between Universal Studios and Glen A. Larson for decades....and is even now continuing to manifest itself in the form of 2011 once again being yet another year when this series from 1978 has failed to appear in revival form in cinemas or on television.
Bryan Singer's version of "Superman" was the first screen version of the character that I felt genuinely hostile towards. His "Superman" for the most part was a "Peeping Tom Mute"......saying very little....spying on Lois Lane....and fathering a child that belonged in a "Special Education Class" for troubled children. Singer's Lex Luthor was a homicidal maniac with a truly stupid ass idea for real estate development.
So...Perhaps it's just as well that Bryan Singer and Glen A. Larson haven't delivered a "Battlestar Galactica" movie together....because I'm truly apprehensive as to what sort of interpretation of the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series these two idiots would come up with. One thing I am absolutely convinced of...is that the hearts of Singer and Larson would not be in the right place while making a movie like this.
