SyFy Channel Is Auctioning Off Their "Galactica In Name Only" Props. What Does This Mean For The Future of "Blood & Chrome?"

The SyFy Channel's..."cough"....highly imaginative wardrobe from their "Galactica in Name Only" (GINO) series. Low budget coveralls from "Farmer Brown's Retail Outlet" always convince me that a television series is taking place thousands of light years from Earth.

http://blastr.com/2011/08/massive-sale-of-battlesta.php#14

Usually, the SyFy Channel doesn't come right and tell us that a sequel series to their belovedly unsuccessful take on "Battlestar Galactica" has been cancelled. (It took the longest time for them to finally "fess up" and admit that they had pulled the plug on "Caprica.") Usually with the SyFy Channel, you have to begin putting two and two together to finally conclude that one of their belovedly unsuccessful "Galactica in Name Only" series has limited time in this life.

Take their embryonic "Blood & Chrome" project. What do we know about it so far?

1. The pilot movie has been placed in limbo.

2. Props from their two prior unsuccessful takes on "Battlestar Galactica" ("GINO", "Caprica") are now up for auction. This in itself means that the economic practice of borrowing props from these two prior series for a potential "Blood & Chrome" tv series will be an impossibility. And the SyFy Channel spending more money on original props for "Blood & Chrome" is laughable to say the least...when they could have hung on to the props they are presently auctioning off.

It can be unanimously concluded that the SyFy Channel's decade old "dabbling" in the "Battlestar Galactica" copyright has been wildly unsuccessful for them...perhaps even unprecedented in a lack of financial success. The typical end result in televised Science Fiction when you have the wrong people all of the time calling the shots (Bonnie Hammer, Ronald D. Moore, David Eick, David Howe, Mark Stern.) People with not one shred of imagination or inspired thinking yet somehow ended up in the positions they are in anyway.

The props utilized for "GINO" and "Caprica" were flea market crud in the first place. How fitting these same props are now being auctioned off as flea market crud.

Present company excluded of course...The Cylon Centurion costume and Dagget costume.

Why The SyFy Channel's Underwhelming Attempts At Creating An Outer Space Soap Opera Failed

http://www.amazon.com/Whistling-Dark-Attempt-Battlestar-Galactica/dp/144994079X/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314714764&sr=1-3

Just about any concept could work as a television series or television movie if you had access to the producing and scriptwriting talent to make it happen. The SyFy Channel's love affair with the notion of placing homicidal maniacs from All My Children's "Pine Valley" aboard a spaceship called Galactica might even have worked if they had had access to people with enough talent to make it happen. Only having access to Ronald D. Moore and David Eick from day one is what doomed this concept from day one.

There's a reason why Ronald D. Moore and David Eick have never broken out of their collective coccoons of only appealing to an extremely miniscule audience. Mass market audiences by the score simply don't like what they do, and their thought processes while doing it. Mass market audiences by the score simply didn't like their take on "Battlestar Galactica." There are many other things about Ronald D. Moore and David Eick that mass market audiences by the score didn't like about Ronald D. Moore and David Eick...and continue to not like...

1. Their repeated inability to instinctively sense what mass market audiences by the score would enjoy and find attractive to watch.

2. Their repeated inability to exhibit a sense of humor in their embarrassing body of work.

3. Their repeated inability to create characters mass market audiences by the score would find attractive and care about.

4. Their repeated inability to exhibit good scriptwriting.

5. Their repeated inability to exhibit originality and inspired thinking in anything they do.

6. Their repeated unwillingness to fix the repeated, blatant problems in their production design and costume design. Contemporary urban settings and business suit wardrobes being the primary complaints.

Soap operas aren't all doom and gloom. Well produced and well written ones run the entire range of human emotions including happiness. This is another area where the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore / David Eick completely did themselves in. How can you attract mass market audiences by the score when the story you are telling consists of nothing but characters who are mental patients in terms of their emotional health and the situations they repeatedly find themselves in are unpleasant and suicide driving?

What is the actual underlying problem here? SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore / David Eick are not the best in the business when it comes to creating television programming such as this. Not by a long shot. They only do what they know how to do in the producing and scriptwriting departments. And that isn't good enough. Not by a long shot. They only know how to create negative drama. And negative drama by itself does not bring in mass market television audiences by the score. You have to balance it out with healthy applications of humor and upbeat storytelling. This is why Ronald D. Moore and David Eick never move on to bigger and better things in the profession they are in. (A profession that should have thrown the two of them out on the street ages ago.) A profession that should have done the same to the entire SyFy Channel.

The SyFy Channel's Mediocrity Isn't Over Until The Fat Lady Sings...Or So We Think?

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314587194&sr=1-1

The SyFy Channel's beloved pet project (The "Blood & Chrome" pilot movie) is presently in limbo because of some some unforeseen snag caused by a viewing of a rough cut of the pilot movie. Of course, the SyFy Channel is no stranger to unforeseen snags such as this. When it comes to encountering unforeseen obstacles in trying to get their wildly unpopular garbage agenda on the air...Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern are no strangers in knowing how to deal with problems such as this.

1. Back in 2003, when Ronald D. Moore's GINO ("Galactica in Name Only") mini series received the lowest audience test scores in television history after a  test audience responded unanimously unfavorably to Ronald D. Moore's disastrous take on "Battlestar Galactica"...Bonnie Hammer rammed the mini series and subsequent four season series into existence despite unanimous hatred of the production and record low ratings for four straight seasons. Even Spongebob reruns got higher ratings than Bonnie Hammer's pet project.

2. The sequel series to the disaster that was "GINO"....The sequel series no one in the general public domain asked for ("Caprica")...was rammed into existence by Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern despite the controversial unpopularity of "GINO" and the unlikelihood of a large audience waiting in the wings to watch it. "Caprica" limped by for a half dozen or so episodes before "Murphy's Law" royally screwed Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern up the ying-yang once again.

3. Conventional wisdom would suggest that this flair for getting garbage television on the air despite overwhelming odds and despite financial consequences always waiting in the wings to do them in once again would once again be on the side of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern when it comes to overcoming the present obstacle that has derailed "Blood & Chrome." However, this time around Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have a new corporate boss in the form of Comcast. And this time around, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern might not be so lucky in getting this latest piece of trash of theirs on the air ("Blood & Chrome"). Because for all we know, it may very well be Comcast that pulled the plug on the "Blood & Chrome" project.

What is this incessant need Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have always had in never giving up on these pet projects of theirs with the "Battlestar Galactica" brand name attached to them despite unanimous negative opinion and low ratings..and despite their personal friendship with Ronald D. Moore? (Did I just answer my own question?) One thing we do know about the three of them, is that if they find out the general public despises a personal project of theirs, they will fight tooth and nail to get these projects on the air and keep them on the air. Nowhere was this more evident than with "GINO" and "Caprica." Will history repeat itself with "Blood & Chrome", or will Comcast put to an end once and for all...this cycle of behavior with Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern? And is Comcast already in the process of doing so?

Part of The SyFy Channel's Problem Is...They Can't Differentiate Between Good And Bad Television Programming

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314475500&sr=1-1

According to the latest notorious urban myth...Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern screened a rough cut of the "Blood & Chrome" pilot movie. They apparently weren't happy with it because the movie wasn't up to the standards of their weekly monster movies. Whaaa?? Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern are now using their weekly trash fests they like to call monster movies as the quality standard to measure all potential new SyFy Channel projects against?

I'm reminded of a scene in "Return of the Jedi" where Luke Skywalker is battling a horrible pit monster with fangs and claws. Luke finally kills this horrible beast by dropping a dungeon gate on top of it. This is the cool part. The owner / master of this horrible beast then comes running out with tears in his eyes, because Luke had just killed his beloved pet. Everybody loves somebody...Everybody loves some..thing.

For some God forsaken unknown reason...Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern just love their weekly trash fest / monster movies. No one else loves these weekly monster movies of theirs....but they do.
Everybody loves somebody....Everybody loves some...thing.

I think Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern all lack a critical enzyme or a series of critical thought receptors in their brains which would allow them to differentiate between good and bad television programming. The three of them honestly don't know when they put mind boggling crap on the air. They are completely oblivious to the rotten jobs they are doing programming for the SyFy Channel. The three of them lack that basic...human instinct...the vast majority of the human population have which tells us when television programming is magnificent...or dismal.

Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern put anything on the air produced and written by Ronald D. Moore...and they think it's "Masterpiece Theater." The rest of us however, recognize Ronald D. Moore's embarrassing body of work for what it really is....utter crap. As far as I'm concerned, their unanimous adulation of Ronald D. Moore is indicative of their brains being wired differently than the vast majority of the human population. Something is amiss within their craniums.

The three of them then unanimously conclude (for some God forsaken unknown reason) that they have carried the SyFy Channel to sufficient heights of success to begin thinking about branching off into retail manufacturing of the SyFy Channel brand name plastered on video games on Ipods. The three of them just can't see that their work history at the SyFy Channel has not propelled the struggling cable network into the stratosphere of success. The three of them just can't see that before you can branch off the SyFy Channel into multiple retail endeavors...the SyFy Channel has to be legitimately successful in the first place. This hasn't happened. The reason why it hasn't happened is because the three of them are unable to differentiate between good and bad television programming and thus...have only put bad television programming on the air during their entire time at the channel. You make legitimate money by putting good television programming on the air. That's how you grow a television business into a success. You don't make legitimate money by putting nothing but garbage on the air. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have never learned this.

As a side note, I think there might be a bit more to the "Blood & Chrome" pilot movie being halted than merely Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern apparently being unhappy with the rough cut they saw. (Since when did the three of them ever develop the ability to differentiate between good and bad television programming anyway?) Maybe Comcast has finally gotten around to reining in Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern's unsupervised reign of terror at the SyFy Channel. Maybe Comcast has finally gotten around to reining in their irrational love of all things Ronald D. Moore. And maybe Comcast has finally gotten around to realizing that the SyFy Channel sucks from every conceivable standpoint.

The SyFy Channel Needs To Follow "Blood & Chrome" Directly To The Internet

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314376560&sr=1-1

The SyFy Channel just isn't making it as a cable network. Their fortunes are non-existent, television viewers have never like them. The SyFy Channel should take a cue from "Blood & Chrome" and follow this troubled production directly to the Internet.

SyFy Channel needs to go the route of Hulu or Netflix...and become solely an on-line entity. If someone (whoever that may be) is in the mood for a little SyFy Channel, they could go to the SyFy Channel page and watch SyFy Channel programming there. Yes, the SyFy Channel already has a web site, but I'm talking about the entire SyFy Channel network removing its sorry ass from the broadcast airwaves, and replanting it firmly on the Internet. SyFy Channel would be transplanted to cyberspace, and removed from your cable system.

SyFy Channel has repeatedly proven that it just isn't important enough as a cable network to occupy space on the broadcast airwaves. SyFy Channel needs to be demoted down to a little entity on the Internet on the order of Hulu or Netflix. This demotion would scale the SyFy Channel down to what Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern are intellectually capable of dealing with. The three of them just don't have the cerebral and business chops to hold the SyFy Channel's head up high in the highly competitive business of cable television.

The SyFy Channel solely on the Internet would also fulfill all of the marketing dreams of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern. They could have little pop-up windows on the SyFy Channel page advertising all of the cheapo products they want to sell. Such as "SyFy Channel Ipods" and "SyFy Channel Video Games."

This move would also serve the purpose of getting Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern out of the hair of the general public once and for all. Their insignificance on the Internet would remove them from most people's memories and nightmares.

Blood & Chrome May Get Demoted Back to a Webisode Series

http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Chrome-Interpretation-Battlestar-Galactica/dp/1456493604/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314326877&sr=1-1

http://io9.com/5834264/battlestar-galactica-blood-and-chrome-may-get-demoted-back-to-being-a-webseries/

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome may get demoted back to being a web series.

quote- "No new Battlestar Galactica on your television screens?

That's a possibility, according to AOL TV's Maureen Ryan. Syfy is considering turning its latest Battlestar Galactica prequel, Blood and Chrome, back into a webseries.

When Blood and Chrome was originally commissioned, back in July 2010, the plan was for it to be a webseries of nine or ten episodes of around 10 minutes each, shot in greenscreen. Then, around the time Syfy pulled the plug on Caprica, the network decided to air Blood and Chrome as a TV movie — and as a possible backdoor pilot that could lead to a new series.

Now Syfy has seen an early cut of the TV movie, without most of the visual effects completed — and they're thinking of turning it back into a webseries, the network's EVP Mark Stern told Ryan. Stern said that a decision on Blood and Chrome's release date was not imminent, and it was still a possibility that they would air it as a TV movie/backdoor pilot. But they're seriously considering transforming it back into a series of webisodes. (It's a bad sign that Syfy doesn't automatically consider this production as worthy of TV-movie status as, say, Killer Mountain. Or Mega-Python Vs. Gatoroid. Etc. etc.)

Blood and Chrome follows William Adama as a young man, fighting in the first Cylon war and learning the hard lessons of combat and sacrifice. He's ordered to escort a young woman, who turns out to know some vitally important Cylon secrets. We read a ton of script pages a while back and we were pretty happy with the BSG-ish feel of the thing. But on the other hand, an argument could be made for letting the BSG universe stay off the air for a few years, so it could be brought back with a bigger bang down the line. That could be part of the calculation that's going on here." -unquote

I take on NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel...and I win again!!

Can We Please Feed The SyFy Channel Programming Executives to Sharktopus?

http://www.fanboy.com/2010/09/can-we-please-feed-syfy-programming-execs-to-sharktopus.html

There is a moment at the end of the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" when Matthew Broderick breaks the fourth wall, looks at the camera, and tells the audience to "go home" because the movie is over with.

The piss-poor management at NBC-Universal needs to "go home." The piss-poor management at the SyFy Channel needs to "go home." NBC-Universal management overseeing the SyFy Channel, and SyFy Channel management itself (Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern) have long since overstayed their welcome at this crack-pot little cable network (SyFy Channel) they have built into nothing over a decade's time, and they all need to go home.

You see, no one likes what NBC-Universal has been doing with the SyFy Channel. No one likes what Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have been doing with the SyFy Channel. These are a motley group of studio and television executives who have a habit of working that quite frankly, does not agree with the tastes and the sensibilities of the television viewing public. These are a group of people who quite frankly, have a sleazy work ethic that the former Sci-Fi Channel has absorbed the full brunt of.

There is nothing funny, charming, clever, or hip about badly produced and badly written monster movies such as "Sharktopus", or crappy television shows such as "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen." There is nothing funny, charming, clever, or hip about the fact that Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern all suffer from "Cerebral Palsy" when it comes to them trying to be television programmers.

The SyFy Channel is a cable network rotten to the core. And it is a cable network run by a bunch of "Cerebral Retards" who are all...rotten to te core. The Internet is filled with legitimate articles trashing the SyFy Channel for its piss-poor programming. Everyone I mentioned above need to take a hint from the unanimous and overwhelming negative opinions regarding the work they do...pack their bags and go home.

The Negative Opinions Of The SyFy Channel Keep Rolling In

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314204989&sr=1-1

Should all of this negativity be entered on the resumes of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern? Maybe there's a reason why the three of them never dare job hunt?

http://www.tor.com/blogs/2011/08/syfy-channel-backhands-eureka-fans-and-its-audience-at-large

The careers of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern at the SyFy Channel have been eccentric to say the least. The work they have been doing at this channel has never been met with a unanimous..."We really like what you're doing!!" Instead, the feedback they have only ever received has been a unanimous..."You suck and so does your channel!!"  The SyFy Channel has been a lumbering behemoth of creative and inspirational dormancy since the name change in 2009, and many years before that when it was still called Sci-Fi Channel and NBC-Universal was and still is (unfortunately) the owner.

SyFy Channel suffers from a lack of creative vision and a lack of management talent from Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern. In their futile quest in achieving a series of conflicting, incoherent, fragmented and compartmentalized marketing agendas having nothing to do with Science Fiction television programming...Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have rendered the SyFy Channel an identity starved cable network not knowing what it is from one moment to the next. How do you put an ID marker on a cable channel consisting of the following "smorgasbord-esque" television programs? They certainly don't fit together and belong on the same cable network.

1. Marcel's Quantum Kitchen
2. WWF Wrestling
3. Fact or Faked?
4. Scare Tactics

On top of this, Bonnie Hammer, David Hammer, and Mark Stern want to use the SyFy Channel logo (whatever it is supposed to stand for) to get into the manufacturing wing of the retail industry. Video games and Ipods for teenagers.

It isn't merely that the SyFy Channel suffers from an identity crisis. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern are also suffering from a career identity crisis. They want to leave the SyFy Channel for the pursuit of some retail dream.

NBC-Universal could care less as to which nitwits end up managing the SyFy Channel. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern want to use the SyFy Channel as a springboard into a doomed retail venture. Is it any wonder why this channel sucks so much? It is without responsible management.

When is NBC-Universal Going to Stop Dancing With Failure And Hire Some Real Executives to Manage The SyFy Channel?

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314110648&sr=1-1

With Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern...the cable network formerly known as Sci-Fi Channel and presently known as SyFy Channel has been without legitimate management and leadership during the entire time NBC-Universal has owned the channel. This is due to the collective lack of talent of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern as television programmers and managers...as well as their collective handicap in not being cerebral enough to handle the entire science fiction genre in television programming.

Perhaps as a non-verbal admission of failure in being unable to successfully program for a cable network that is supposed to be science fiction in content....Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have other career plans nowadays. The three of them want to do a career switch over to the retail industry.

1. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern want to open something along the lines of a "Game Boy Express"...retail outlet in the Oakridge Center Shopping Mall in Vancouver, British Columbia. With all of the video games having the SyFy Channel logo on it.

2. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern want to open something along the lines of an "Ipod Express" retail outlet in the Manhattan Mall in beautiful New York, NY. With all of the Ipods having the SyFy Channel logo on it.

Everybody has the right to pursue their dreams I suppose, but NBC-Universal needs to start thinking seriously about staffing their ambiguous cable network presently known as SyFy Channel with programming executives and managers who would be serious about making serious money for the channel. You see, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have gone "Bye - Bye" from the SyFy Channel mentally. The three of them have retreated (mentally) into "Fantasy Career La-La Land" with unrealistic career dreams. They aren't interested in managing a cable network called SyFy Channel...a cable network they mutated into ambiguity through a lack of good management and lack of cerebral capabilities when dealing with science fiction. They would much prefer to open retail outlets in shopping malls across the country selling junk with the SyFy Channel logo slapped on it. Maybe they could get a deal in manufacturing costs if they had all of their SyFy Channel junk made in China. Including their video games and Ipods geared towards their prized teenager demographic. Their first step in retail global dominion.

The failure of the ambiguous cable network known as SyFy Channel is as much the fault of NBC-Universal as anyone else. It was NBC-Universal who installed Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern at this ambiguous cable network, which eventually led to this ambiguous cable network eventually becoming ambiguous after its glory days as a legitimate Science Fiction cable network in the 1990s. And now, Bonnie Hammer...David Howe, and Mark Stern want to "fly the coop" into retail heaven after rendering the SyFy Channel a deaf mute cable network.

Is NBC-Universal ever going to get serious about this ambiguous cable network of theirs? Are they ever going to get serious about installing management at this ambiguous cable network who can actually do the job of managing and programming the network where it's actually making money and not offending 95% of the viewing audience with bad decision making?

Here's some advice for NBC-Universal....

Release Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern from their employment at the SyFy Channel and allow the three of them to pursue their retail dreams. And then hire some real television executives who would know how to turn the SyFy Channel into an actual money making machine.

We Keep Hearing It Again And Again. SyFy Channel Wants To Be Everything Under The Sun Except a Science Fiction Cable Network

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314032175&sr=1-1

http://www.qj.net/xbox-360/news/syfy-channel-explains-interest-in-gaming-industry.html

SyFy Channel president David Howe recently explained their interest in the gaming industry.

quote- "Our viewers are a very big video game playing audience. They understand technology. Video games have always been on our horizon because our audience is so techno-savvy. I think it's a combination of our ambition through some of our ventures to grow new businesses and revenue streams, and also an attempt to create new ways of telling stories to capitalize on in the new development of technology," Howe said. "Video gaming has come a hell of a long way since the days of Pac-Man. Today's big games like Call of Duty create real-time stories and characters that are much closer to the TV movie experience than it ever has been, so now is the time for us to really capitalize on that.

We know the traditional Hollywood model of taking an existing property and trying to adapt it for a different media doesn't work. Most gamers would always deride the spin-off game from a movie franchise or the spin-off of a movie from a game franchise because they're usually created after the fact. The characters in the story were not designed for those particular media. They've had to be adapted and retrofitted to make them work. We wanted to come at it more smartly and co-create and co-develop." -unquote

Why don't I just come right out and say it? Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern aren't the slightest bit interested in managing what is supposed to be a science fiction cable network. They are trying to use their present positions at the SyFy Channel (as a springboard) to branch off into a "three way partner entrepreneurship" (having nothing to do with managing a cable network)...with the intent of using the brand name "SyFy Channel" to build a "Mega-Retail Empire" of some sort highlighted with video games and Ipods used by their dream demographic...teenage boys.

Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern don't want to be in the present occupation that they are in. The three of them want to do a career switch...over to the retail industry. Listen to the way either of them talk nowadays. Very rarely is the profession they are supposed to be in (programming for a cable network) ever mentioned anymore. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern now always talk about "becoming something else"....."becoming something other than what they presently are." NBC-Universal can wax over it all they want to. NBC-Universal can deny it all they want to. The fact is, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern want to do a career switch...and the three of them are leaning heavily towards retail. The three of them want to abandon the SyFy Channel as soon as possible...the would be existence of their "Mega-Retail Empire" permitting...and allowing them to do so.

Of course, this can only be a blessing for the miniscule viewership of the SyFy Channel that has suffered severely from the horrific programming ideas of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern. I would have been the first to tell the three of them that they are not suited for the present occupation that they are in. Their underwhelming track record at the SyFy Channel as television programmers speaks for itself. What astonishes me, is how blatant and upfront they have been in wanting to abandon the cable television profession and get into the retail industry.

I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that the three of them have finally realized that they just aren't cutting it as television programmers for the SyFy Channel. Perhaps they also realize that there is not greener pastures waiting for them at any other cable network either, such as Animal Planet. So perhaps, a three way partner entrepreneurship in the retail industry is the last route for them to go professionally.

Ironically, The SyFy Channel Has Become What It Has Spent Years Condemning

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313857593&sr=1-1

We heard it again and again from Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern. How they wanted to get away from "pure" Science Fiction television programming because as far as they were concerned, such programming carried the stigma of being "Geek Fodder." Such programming (as far as they were concered) only appealed to "adult geeks living in their parents basements."

This is where things get interesting and ironic. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern convinced themselves that they had the perfect antidote for (in their opinion) such "geeky" programming as "Star Trek", the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series, "Farscape", "Stargate"...etc. They would put such non-Science Fiction television programming on the air as "Scare Tactics", "Dream Team", "WWF Smackdown", "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen", and "Fact or Faked?" Now, this is where the irony comes in!! These very television programs Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have come up with (to replace those supposedly "geeky" Science Fiction television programs they hate so much such as "Star Trek")  have turned out to be the very "Geek Fodder" they have spent years condemning.

Based upon their "Geeky" television programming on the SyFy Channel, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have turned out to be the very "Geeks" and "Nerds" they hate so much. Of course, there really is no such thing as "Geeks" and "Nerds" when television programmers try to erroneously apply the definitions to segments of the viewing audience who simply like Science Fiction television programming. However....Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have always had this inate psychological need to hate someone...anyone (in the general public domain)..while showing up for work everyday at the SyFy Channel and not doing their jobs. That segment of the viewing public loving Science Fiction television programming fit the bill quite nicely for them.

It's a shame that there aren't more "Geeks" living in their basements that Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern could program to...because if there were...the SyFy Channel would be making a fortune right now with such crap as "GINO"..."Caprica"...."Blood & Chrome"...."Dream Team"...."Scare Tactics"...."Fact or Faked"...."WWF Smackdown".....and "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen."

The attempts of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern to rid themselves of their corporate phobia of..."Geeks being the dominant demographic" in their viewing audience, has ironically resulted in them  producing the very sorts of television programming these manufactured stereotypes (of Hammer, Howe, and Stern) would find appealing.

Was The SyFy Channel Ever Thanked For Bringing Jaleel White ("Urkel") Out of Retirement For "Mega Shark versus Crocosaurus?"

The SyFy Channel has a real treat in store for their miniscule viewership tonight, August 20th. They will be rerunning their phenomenally trashy monster movie from last year...."Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus." This of course, is one of the many SyFy Channel monster movies placed on the fast track to bargain basement DVD release on http://www.amazon.com/.

One of the interesting things about these SyFy Channel monster movies has been their sort of "Easter Egg Goodies" hidden within each awful monster film in the form of gimmick casting of former television / movie stars who weren't necessarily embraced with love from the general public in the first place. In "Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus" for example, we have former television star Jaleel White who played "Urkel" in the sitcom "Family Matters"...in a starring role. The proud legacy of the "Urkel" character of course...as claimed by ABC-TV at the time of "Family Matters" original airing....is that "Urkel" achieved cult status far beyond that of "Fonzie" in "Happy Days."

In other SyFy Channel original movies...we have been treated to the likes of Lou Diamond Phillips ("Wolf Lake")....Eric Roberts ("The Coca Cola Kid").....and even B-movie king Roger Corman...all willingly making appearances in these god awful SyFy Channel monster movies....because no one else will.

I guess you could say that these SyFy Channel monster movies have sort of become the "Love Boat" of the 21st Century....where you have....has beens and never weres....all making starring and cameo roles in these weekly schlock fests. But...instead of Capt. Stubing....Julie....Gopher...and Doc...all along for the ride...we have monsters with razor sharp fangs instead.

Sid & Marty Krofft...The Mentors Of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern

Think "WWF Wrestling" while you're watching this. Think "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen" while you're watching this. Think "Sharktopus"...."Ice Spiders"...."Frankenfish"...."Scare Tactics"..."GINO"...."Caprica"...."Blood & Chrome"....etc. The pinnacles of  "geeky" SyFy Channel programming.

Yes, my friends. The only prior television producers / programmers Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern can be compared to in overall bad taste and in the overall embarrassment / "geek" factor is.....Sid & Marty Krofft.

Is "Blood & Chrome" Going To Be Another Ego Project Of The SyFy Channel Complete With Fake Awards And False Ratings Claims?

http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Chrome-Interpretation-Battlestar-Galactica/dp/1456493604/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313534845&sr=1-1

Are those ruthlessly fragile egos at the SyFy Channel and in the Ronald D. Moore camp (ever present when "GINO" and "Caprica" were on the air)....going to make a notorious return for "Blood & Chrome?"

SyFy Channel knows the drill by now (because they created the bloody...ugly...stealth marketing animal themselves)

1. Put a Ronald D. Moore related television series on the air of any sort that inevitably suffers from low ratings.

2. Deny the reality that the television series is suffering from low ratings and begin implementing ruthless means to try and salvage the television series.

3. Claim that the ratings for each episode are infinitely higher than they are in those patented, deliberately misleading press releases of the SyFy Channel.

4. If that doesn't artificially raise the ratings, begin fanning out fake awards to the television series (given by Harlan Ellison) to try and artificially boost the ratings.

5. Begin attacking the general public on Internet bulletin boards such as the SyFy Channel forums if they dare to express their honest, negative opinions of the television series.

6. If that doesn't artificially raise the ratings, claim that the United Nations regards the television series as a necessary antidote to the woes of the human condition.

7. If that doesn't artificially raise the ratings, bribe television critics across the country to write misleading, favorable reviews of the television series in question.

8. If that doesn't artificially raise the ratings, still refuse to cancel the television series in question because all of the fragile egos depending upon the success of the television series couldn't take the ego deflations caused by the television series cancellation.

This was the SyFy Channel's pattern of behavior with Ronald D. Moore's "GINO" series, and Ronald D. Moore's "Caprica" series. There is no reason to believe that their pattern of behavior will be any different with "Blood & Chrome."

No one is looking forward to the SyFy Channel's third round at bat....except the SyFy Channel.

The Only "Geeks" In The Deranged Corporate Universe Of The SyFy Channel, Are The SyFy Channel Executives Themselves

http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Studios-1978-Battlestar-Galactica/dp/1434895408/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313441200&sr=1-2

Be very weary whenever Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern use the term "Geek" to describe those members of the viewing public who enjoy Science Fiction television programming. Labeling segments of the viewing public with typical, status quo, corporate name calling such as this is really Bonnie Hammer's way of admitting that she isn't cerebral enough...she isn't savvy enough....and she isn't artistically inclined enough to serve the "Science Fiction segment" of the viewing public. She has never been able to serve this segment of the viewing public due to her intellectual limitations...so she calls them names. It's an indirect admission on her part that she isn't qualified for her job. Ditto for David Howe and Mark Stern.

The viewing public likes what they like...and they don't need permission slips from Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern to like what they do like. Nor does the viewing public deserve to be labeled "Geeks" by NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel just because this fucked up corporation hasn't been able to chart an identity trajectory for the Sci-Fi Channel since they have owned it. Just because this corporation hasn't been able to pull its head out of its ass in terms of being thoroughly intellectually incapable of handling the entire genre of "Science Fiction Television Programming."

If there are any "Geeks" here...it is Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern of the SyFy Channel. Working for the ultimate "Corporate Geek" - NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel.

Which of the following television programs are..."Geekier?"

1. The "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series...or "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen?"
2. "Time Tunnel"....or..."William Shatner's Full Moon Fright Night?"
3. "Six Million Dollar Man".....or....."Fact or Faked?"
4. "Star Trek"....or....."Dream Team?"
5. "Space: 1999"....or...."WWF Wrestling?"
6. "Star Wars"...or...."Frankenfish"....."Sharktopus"...."Ice Spiders?"
7. "Questor Tapes"....or...."Scare Tactics?"

I think Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern had damn well better start looking in the mirror, because the crap they put on the air is the "Geekiest shit I have ever seen." They are in no position whatsoever (in light of their repeated...underwhelming job performance) to be criticizing the makers of genuinely good Science Fiction television programming (and movies) of the past, and those in the general public who like those shows....with their patented "Geek" label.

With Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern, you basically have the worst television programmers of all time....criticizing the greatest Science Fiction television series and movies of all time...and their fanbases.

There's always a time to keep your mouths shut. Especially when you're monumentally untalented. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have never learned that.

When The SyFy Channel Bothers to Put a Science Fiction Television Series On The Air At All, It's Always For All The Wrong Reasons

http://www.amazon.com/Caprica-Sucks-Channel-Misfires-Ronald/dp/1451556225/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313431671&sr=1-1

Though the SyFy Channel would never admit it (have they ever admitted to any wrongdoing?), they have always used the very beast known as the "Science Fiction Television Program" as a political weapon - ("Let's put Ronald D. Moore's sham interpretation of 'Battlestar Galactica' on the air to piss off the fanbase of the '1978 Battlestar Galactica' series...low ratings for four straight seasons be damned!!")....as a political instrument - ("Let's give our best buddy Ronald D. Moore some additional employment by renewing his low rated, sham take on 'Battlestar Galactica' for another...low rated season!!")...and as a political crutch - ("Let's announce yet another 'Battlestar' spin-off called 'Blood & Chrome' as a non-verbal statement of denial that 'GINO' and 'Caprica' were ratings flops in reality.")

At no time in the history of broadcasting has a corporation (NBC-Universal) and one of its subsidiaries (SyFy Channel) used "Science Fiction Television Programming" as an instrument of self indulgent political, corporate gain as this corporation and subsidiary has. To such an extent...that it doesn't matter to this corporation and its subsidiary that any Science Fiction television series utilized for this purpose doesn't make any money for them at all. In it's irrational, corporate hatred of the "Science Fiction Television Series", the SyFy Channel has demoted "Science Fiction Television Series" to instruments of its personal and corporate political gain. It certainly has been an odd position for any corporation and its broadcast subsidiary to take. If they hate Science Fiction so much, why don't they sell the SyFy Channel to someone(s) who love the genre? It's not as if the SyFy Channel has ever been a vital, money making artery for NBC-Universal in obscene amounts of money. It's a "piss-pot" little cable network, at the most dumping pocket change into NBC-Universal. If NBC-Universal sold the insignificant cable network right now, they wouldn't even miss it.

The SyFy Channel isn't run like a normal cable network should be run. Instead, it's day to day corporate existence is devoted to worrying about what certain demographic groups think of them, a predicament they ironically brought on themselves by weird programming decisions and failing to define what the SyFy Channel is supposed to be. The SyFy Channel's corporate mission statement seems to be..."Yes, we have no idea how to properly manage the SyFy Channel...but everybody please love us anyway." Additionally, what is the real existence of the SyFy Channel? What is its real purpose? To hate all Science Fiction television programming and in particular...to hate the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series...all for personal and political corporate gain. The typical symptom of this odd use of the SyFy Channel by NBC-Universal has been...the SyFy Channel not being entertaining at all.

SyFy Channel has another curious and eccentric corporate habit as well. They worry about what people think of them. They worry about for example...what teenage boys with Ipods think about their name change to "SyFy Channel." They worry about for example....not being thought of as cutting edge and groovy with the name "SyFy Channel." What the SyFy Channel should be worrying about instead...is why it has always insisted on running itself as this "Neurotic, Ambiguous Cable Channel" worrying about stupid ass things that never improve their situation financially as a broadcaster. Instead of worrying about what teenage boys think of them, maybe the SyFy Channel should get down to the tasks at hand of beginning to run itself as a legitimate cable network. Even at this late date...no one still knows what the hell the SyFy Channel is. Everyone is still making ball park guesses as to what the SyFy Channel is supposed to be. What everyone does agree upon though...is that the SyFy Channel is this strange,  ambiguous cable network that hates "Science Fiction television programming" with a passion...with a weird fixation on the opinions of teenage boys with Ipods.

Can it be that the problems the SyFy Channel has stems from tremendous emotional insecurities on the parts of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern?

"GINO" And "Caprica" Suffered From Low Ratings. So, Why Does SyFy Channel Want To Repeat The Unpleasant Experience With "Blood & Chrome?"

http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Chrome-Interpretation-Battlestar-Galactica/dp/1456493604/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313344163&sr=1-1

Not that the SyFy Channel has ever had a series of momentous options in its television programming, but why would this piss-pot little cable network drain what little financial resources they do have by returning to the "Ronald D. Moore Well of Boredom" for a third time by trying to make his severely flawed take on "Battlestar Galactica?" work?

Ronald D. Moore's "GINO" (Galactica in Name Only) series...with the ever frowning and extremely unpleasant to look at Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell...limped along for four extremely forgettable and boring seasons...was finally cancelled (due to low ratings) in its fourth season. "Caprica" didn't fare any better...getting mercifully cancelled (due to low ratings) after what? Seven episodes? Two failed television series from Ronald D. Moore wasn't enough for the SyFy Channel. They want to give his flawed and sham take on "Battlestar Galactica" yet another go round with "Blood & Chrome."

The SyFy Channel has obviously never benefitted financially from anything they have done with Ronald D. Moore, so why do they keep returning to this "well" of low ratings? Could it be that all parties involved are benefitting in ways other than money? Like say, internal corporate politics of some sort? Internal corporate politics that "GINO" and "Caprica" have satisfied, and "Blood & Chrome" will eventually satisfy? What sorts of internal corporate politics might be at play here within the SyFy Channel?

1. The friendship between Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel. A friendship the SyFy Channel decided at some point would never be torn apart by low ratings due to misfired television series repeatedly concocted between the two of them?

2. It has become increasingly apparent to me (through observation) that the SyFy Channel's "Battlestar Galactica relationship" with Ronald D. Moore has been partially due to them wanting to extract as much of the ownership rights away from Glen A. Larson as they possibly can. And, NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel will stop at nothing in order to achieve that. Even if it means making television series with Ronald D. Moore that are perhaps...intentionally bad and offensive to the senses? Intentionally badly produced and written. Intentionally...badly cast (Edward James Olmos.) Even if it means...perhaps....only utilizing character and locale names from the "Battlestar Galactica" copyright without the substance. For example, the planet "Caprica" in Ronald D. Moore's television series is nothing more than gangster era location shooting in Vancouver instead of its marvelous depiction in the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series as a technological ancient Egypt complete with pyramid shaped office buildings.

3. Keep George Lucas and Steven Spielberg happy. If George Lucas is happy, Steven Spielberg is happy. If Steven Spielberg is happy, he keeps bringing Universal Studios those really cool potential tent pole projects such as "Cowboys & Aliens." How do you keep George Lucas and Steven Spielberg simultaneously happy? By not reviving the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series in its original form.

The mindset here of NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel obviously, partially being, "let's stop at nothing to own as much of "Battlestar Galactica" as we possibly can" (while navigating through this three pronged obstacle course.) Even it means suffering long term low ratings from the likes of "GINO", "Caprica",  And the inevitably low rated...and upcoming...."Blood & Chrome." Even it means making "Battlestar Galactica" named television series as bad and as repulsive as we can possibly make them.

What better man is there for the job of making bad television than Ronald D. Moore?

The SyFy Channel Cancels Another Science Fiction Television Series...For No Good Reason

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313170578&sr=1-1

http://www.toplessrobot.com/2011/08/syfy_cancels_another_sci-fi_series_1.php

"After painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of Eureka. But Eureka is not over yet. There is a new holiday episode this December and 12 stellar episodes set to debut next year, marking its fifth season and six memorable years on Syfy. The 2012 episodes are some of the best we've seen, and will bring this great series to a satisfying end. We are very grateful to Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia, their team of incredible writers, and an amazing cast and crew who have consistently delivered a series we continue to be very proud of. We thank the fans for their support of this show and know they will enjoy its final season in 2012."

-SyFy Channel

We need to be blunt here. The SyFy Channel has never experienced "painful consideration" in the cancellation of any science fiction television series in its entire, useless, corporate life. The corporate bullshit...status quo...statement of the SyFy Channel above is masking what the SyFy Channel really experienced behind closed corporate doors when they cancelled "Eureka"...."uninhibited sexual euphoria and climax."

You see, the SyFy Channel is no doubt making way for more of the low budget...non-science fiction bullshit programming Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern are so fond of. The sort of non-science fiction bullshit programming shot in Vancouver with camcorders, rubber bands, and tooth picks.

Well!! Let's get right to it. What sorts of low budget, bullshit programming will Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern be considering to take the place of "Eureka?" Since their prized demographic now seems to be illiterate...horny....trailer park....teenagers (a complex demographic they still haven't successfully corralled yet)...perhaps the following are the sorts of programs the SyFy Channel will be considering to take "Eureka's" place?

Captain Boinko's Hand Puppet Theater -

Intergalactic playboy "Captain Boinko" cruises through the Milky Way and the rings of Saturn looking for those golden opportunities to get laid. Since the SyFy Channel (as usual...as always) will have no budget whatsoever to produce this show..."Captain Boinko's" entire exciting saga will be told with hand puppets from behind a black curtain. Special effects will be cardboard cut-out spaceships on fishing line.

Bert & Ernie - Romantic Thrift Shoppers For Life -

After being fired from Sesame Street and PBS for being gay...Bert & Ernie now have an exciting new show on the SyFy Channel. They now span the globe looking for ancient and supernatural artifacts at bargain basement prices in thrift shops. In the exciting pilot episode...Bert almost gets his unibrow singed into two eyebrows when he ignores the warning sign and opens up the "Lost Ark of the Covenant"...almost getting his ass fried as well from the supernatural forces within. In between exciting moments such as this, Bert and Ernie will spend quiet, romantic times together popping open bottles of wine and staring at the moon while cuddling under a blanket.

Sweating To The Oldies With Bonnie Hammer and Richard Simmons -

Bonnie Hammer and Richard Simmons will shed pounds every week (in spandex) dancing to such classics as "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" -  by Neil Sedaka and "Magic Bus" - by The Who.

Practicing Your Poker Face With David Howe and Mark Stern -

SyFy Channel executives David Howe and Mark Stern will be sitting at a card table every week teaching viewers how to play such card games as "Black Jack"..."Go Fish"...."Rummy"...."Poker"....etc. Howe and Stern will also be teaching viewers how to maintain poker faces when one has the winning hand. Additional instruction will be given in arching eyebrows (guest star Lee Majors)...chomping down on cigars....and peripheral vision staring.

Something has to take the place of "Eureka"....right?

The Question Always Is..."What Are Those Crazy Ass Executives Doing To The Former Sci-Fi Channel Now?"

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1313083607&sr=1-1

It's always a rare treat when an article comes along that pretty much covers everything that is wrong with the SyFy Channel. An article so thorough that you can always use it as a singular reference point for studying what the SyFy Channel's problems are.

http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2011/08/on-eurekas-cancellation-how-syfy-can-end-the-pattern/

Take for example...the SyFy Channel's very own Mark Stern. The idiot we can thank for all of the original programming on the SyFy Channel including all of the God awful Saturday night monster movies, and other anti-cerebral trash such as "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen." The following is a quote from Mark Stern himself. After uttering such self-contradictory nonsense such as this, I have to ask why this man hasn't been demoted yet and given a scrub brush for scrubbing out urinals.
"I think our big frustration with a show like Battlestar Galactica has been, it’s a great show. Because it’s on the science fiction channel it’s kept people away, that we felt like would come in and love that show. So it’s made us a little more hesitant about going too hard scifi. Because hard scifi on the scifi channel is almost like this double whammy. Now that we have a brand that is a little broader and we’re embracing a lot of things we’re already doing. I think it also gives us a lot of freedom to do more hard scifi."
Let's walk our way through these ludicrous remarks of Mark Stern's, and prove beyond a shadow of a doubt why this man has no clue which way is up in the job he has been supposed to be doing.

1. Mark Stern (not in so many words) is blaming the commercial failure of Ronald D. Moore's sham take on "Battlestar Galactica" not on the facts that it was poorly produced, poorly written, and poorly cast...but rather because it was airing on a piss-pot little cable network supposedly geared towards Science Fiction and couldn't attract an audience because of that. Talk about passing the buck and kicking the can down the road!!

Mark Stern's next "words of wisdom" are a real doozy!!

2. The commercial failure of Ronald D. Moore's "Battlestar Galactica" made Mark Stern more hesitant to do "hard science fiction"....But!!....now that the SyFy Channel is (in Mark Stern's delusional eyes) doing well as a "broader brand named" entity....(Are you still with me?)....Mark Stern now feels free to do more "hard science fiction" on the SyFy Channel. "Hard science fiction" we all know Mark Stern and his idiot colleagues at the SyFy Channel will never do because the lot of them all hate...."hard science fiction"....and science fiction in general!!

Let's journey ever deeper into the corporate insanity of the SyFy Channel...

"The parentage of the channel in the early 1990s include both horror and science fiction. Initially, Paramount and Universal used Sci-Fi as a conduit for classic series, like Night Gallery and Star Trek. These genres remain the roots of Syfy programming despite a decade of corporate baton passing that handed the channel to NBC Universal in 2004. Executives have resisted this tradition almost from the beginning, and that is why professional wrestling and reality programming are fixtures in the regular schedule."

If NBC-Universal and its psychotic, corporate executives hate science fiction television programming so much, why did they purchase the God damn channel in the first place??

More corporate insanity...

"Cancelations are as much a part of the the SyFy identity as alien abductions and cylons. Since the Sci-Fi Channel rebranded two years ago, suits have kicked a number of quality science fiction shows to the curb. Fans of Caprica and Stargate Universe lamented the lack of support as Syfy strengthened their commitment to the WWE. Prior to that, the network shocked many fans and critics in 2002 by dumping Farscape, a move that some say will be forever associated with NBC’s premature plug-pulling of the original Star Trek series four decades earlier. Similarly, The Dresden Files, with a literary following and an appealing performance by lead Paul Blackthorne, bit the dust in 2007 after one season. The network eventually cited poor ratings despite evidence to the contrary. Losing Eureka just adds to this legacy."

The question remains....What exactly is the SyFy Channel in terms of an on-air identity since its psychotic corporate executives hate science fiction television programming and hate working for a science fiction channel?

WHAT THE FUCK IS THE SYFY CHANNEL in terms of its on-air identity?

The rest of the SyFy Channel's juvenile shenanigans described in the article aren't worth commenting on because we've heard it all before...and seen it all before on the lunatic SyFy Channel.

There is Still No Evidence of The SyFy Channel's Patented "God Awfulness" Being Turned Into a Multi-Platformed Media Empire

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312992755&sr=1-1

"Multi-Platformed Media Empires" are hard to build. Especially when your starting point of origin (The SyFy Channel) is as badly managed and as God awful as it always have been.

Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have always had big...big....dreams for the SyFy Channel!! They want audiences of all demographic shapes and sizes to descend upon their network and give them the advertising revenue they feel they so richly deserve!! They want the SyFy Channel to be a point of origin of some sort for an ambiguous multi-platformed media empire encompassing their awful television programming, video games, cell phones, Ipods, the Internet, and anything else that turns teenagers on!!

Heck!! Bonnie Hammer, Daid Howe, and Mark Stern have been so serious about this ludicrous dream of theirs that two years ago....they took the first step in (what they believed to be!!) making this dream of theirs a reality!! They changed the name "Sci-Fi Channel".....to "SyFy Channel!!" Yep!! That oughta' do it!! A step like that should have instantaneously laid the concrete foundation for the SyFy Channel to magically begin its journey into an ambiguous global media platform of some sort!!

If this was the intended first step into such a metamorphosis...then Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern are very poor planners because two years after the name change...nothing has happened yet!! Not even a series of progressive steps into that direction!! Two years later, the SyFy Channel remains as it was two years ago. A poorly managed, backwater cable channel. Other than the name change, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have taken no further steps whatsoever (because they have been unable to do so?) to make this ambiguous and ludicrous dream of theirs a reality. Two years later...the SyFy Channel is not a multi-platformed media empire of any sort. Two years later, the SyFy Channel logo is still absent from video games, Ipods, apparel, shopping malls, or anything else this "Undynamic Mismanagement Trio" - (Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern) would fancy in their...."Empire."

Granted, "Multi-Platformed Media Empires" take a long time to build, but two years later, the "Undynamic Trio" still haven't laid any sort of realistic foundation for this dream of theirs. What are they waiting for? You don't have to be a marketing major to realize that something has gone terribly wrong with this dream of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern. They have encountered a road block of some sort. I think the road block the three of them have encountered, is that you can't build a "Multi-Platformed Media Empire" on the back of a piss-pot little cable network notorious for bad producing, bad scriptwriting, and bad management in all of its television programming. In other words, you can't build "Multi-Platformed Media Empires"....from dust.

If the SyFy Channel had been a well managed cable network from day one....if Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern had been talented managers from day one then sure...they could have evolved the SyFy Channel into other components of a business of some sort. The three of them just don't get it. The three of them still don't realize it. Your starting point of origin (the SyFy Channel) has to be doing extraordinarily (and genuinely) well financially, creatively and critically (without the daily, laborious shenanigans of guerrilla style stealth marketing painting misleading mirages for the SyFy Channel) before you can begin building "Multi-Platformed Media Empires" from it.

Very few people on this Earth can successfully build "Multi-Platformed Media Empires." George Lucas has done it. Steven Spielberg could do it if he wanted to. James Cameron could do it if he wanted to. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern of the SyFy Channel??

DREAM ON!!

If the three of them were to instantaneously sprout intellectual talent then maybe.
