The Moral of The Story is, If You Never Signed a Contract to Direct a Movie / TV Series, Then You Never "Closed a Deal" to Direct a Movie / TV Series
Welcome class, to our daily instructional period devoted to debunking everything Bryan Singer claims in his endless stream of "Fake" press releases.
It's always important to remember that whenever Bryan Singer claims he "closed a deal to direct a movie / tv series", that really isn't the case. "Closing a deal" to direct a movie / tv series means that you "signed a contract" to direct a movie / tv series, legally binding you to a pre-designated time frame to complete that movie and / or television series in.
As the list of aborted projects displayed below proves, Bryan Singer never "signed a contract" to direct any of these movie / television productions, except for "Jack The Giant Killer" which became the box office flop "Jack The Giant Slayer." Because all of the other projects listed below were aborted by Bryan Singer. You can't abort a project if you signed a legally binding contract to direct it. You also can't "hop", "skip", "jump", "leapfrog", "skydive", "backflip", or "backstroke" from one project to the next if you signed a contract to direct an earlier project. You're legally locked in to direct the project if a contract was signed and that's it, until the project is completed.
So class. The next time you read another "Fake" press release of Bryan Singer's claiming that he "closed a deal" to re-boot yet another science fiction television property / movie, just remember one thing. The chances are 100% likely that he never "signed a contract" locking himself in to direct the darn thing within "x" amount of days.. It's more likely that the term "closing a deal" endlessly reiterated in these "fake" press releases of Bryan Singer's is really "Bryan Singer-ese" for a "very informal, boy scout handshake, non-legally binding non-agreement, he talked about the projects to somebody over drinks with and that's it....type of arrangement" that Bryan Singer can back out of at any moment in time at his leisure. As Bryan Singer magnificently demonstrated in the 26 consecutive times listed below.
Bryan Singer has already placed the "Twilight Zone" remake with CBS on hold (as I knew he would.) This upgrades "Twilight Zone" on the list from "Abandonment Pending" status to flat out aborted and abandoned. I adjusted its listing to reflect this.
The word is still out on "X-Men: Days of Future Past." But we all know where that is headed, don't we? Did Bryan Singer ever sign a CONTRACT TO DIRECT IT?
It should be pointed out also that Bryan Singer would be in "Breach of Contract" 26 times over for abandoning 26 consecutive projects if the projects he announced on the list below were legitimate.
