http://www.techspot.com/news/69284-syfy-channel-rebranding-renewed-focus-science-fiction.html
Where is this renewed focus on Science Fiction? The..."SyFy Channel's"...flagship series to supposedly help commemorate this supposed renewed focus on Science Fiction is..."Blood Drive"....a blood & guts..."Trash Fest"...having absolutely nothing to do with Science Fiction. As well as being committed to further..."Sharknado"....sequels.
Additionally, during this supposed momentous event overall, the.."SyFy Channel"...gutted its old generic cable television website and turned it into an supposed all Science Fiction news website.
Reading between the lines, this blog has determined that the..."SyFy Channel"...is going through anything but a renewed focus on Science Fiction programming.
Instead, the generic non-Science Fiction..."SyFy Channel"...will double down on a renewed focus on..."generic, bland, trashy, crappy, programming (Blood Drive, Sharknado)"... while merely doing scant reporting on Science Fiction related news events on its new website.
The..."SyFy Channel"...was and never will be a destination for Science Fiction fans because it never was such a destination for its corporate owners. This channel should know by now that it can't go in two opposite directions at the same time. Claiming to be a Science Fiction channel and then not actually being one.
This is the usual..."Smoke & Mirrors"..."Bait & Switch"..."Flim Flam"...."Balderdash"...."Bulllsh*t"...of the..."SyFy Channel"...all emanating from this notorious building...
...The..."Universal Studios Black Tower"...where all corporate lies are rooted in this corporation's unyielding hatred for all things..."Science Fiction"...and the..."1978 Battlestar Galactica Series"...
Additionally and once again, this is not the..."25th Anniversary"...of the..."SyFy Channel"...
The once great..."Sci-Fi Channel"...of the 1990's has had two different corporate owners during the past 25 years...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syfy
1. Paramount
2. Universal
A channel doesn't continue uninterrupted in its numerical age when it goes through the drastic (not for the better) changes..."Comcast / Vivendi / NBC-Universal"....put this channel through beginning in the late 1990's when Universal became the dominant owner of the channel.
The once great..."Sci-Fi Channel"...ended in the late 1990's which makes it about eight years old. When..."Comcast / Vivendi / NBC-Universal"...arrived on the scene in the late 1990's as the sole dominant owner of the channel (God help us all)...this puts its age at 17 years old.
And during those 17 years..."Universal"...made this channel...
1. The..."anti-Science Fiction Channel"...
2. The..."Wrestling Channel"....
3. The..."Fake Psychics Network"...
4. The..."Ghost Hunters"...Channel
5. The..."Trashy Horror Movies Channel"...
6. The..."Sharknado"...Channel
7. The..."Blood Drive"....Channel
8. The..."Alcoholics Anonymous Channel" (Geeks Who Drink)
9. The..."Wil Wheaton Channel"
10. The..."William Shatner Full Moon Fright Night Channel"
Anything and everything EXCEPT a..."Science Fiction Channel"....
The other notorious rebranding efforts of the..."SyFy Channel"...are highlighted by its attempt in 2009, which resulted in..."Time Magazine"...referring to the spelling of..."Sci-Fi"...as..."SyFy"...as one of the..."Top 10 Worst Corporate Decisions of All Time"....And the name still hasn't been changed back as a correction to the blunder.
Other rebranding attempts since then (after 2009 and before 2017) have resulted in the..."SyFy Channel"...making really bad attempts at..."Science Fiction"....programming and ultimately falling back on its crappy schedule of generic programming..."Sharknado"....and crappy horror movies because they failed at putting profitable Science Fiction programming on the air.
How many times does a channel have to rebrand after being chronically unsuccessful financially from all of those rebrands before everyone working at the channel finally gets FIRED?
The..."SyFy Channel"...has needed a new corporate owner and new people at the channel from top to bottom for 17 years.
At the very least, when are the heads going to start rolling due to the failure of..."Blood Drive?"...
