Sam Esmail is basically saying that he is starting all over again from day one with his alleged "Battlestar" production because he has no work to show for the previous four years that he wasted away doing nothing with "Battlestar" (2019-2023).
If history is any indication (primarily with Bryan Singer and Frances Lawrence), Sam Esmail should have a first or second draft script completed in the next 18 months (April 2025) before his alleged "Battlestar" production falls apart once again (collapses) from his chronic inactivity.

Sam Esmail couldn't be more specific with the details of his alleged development of his alleged production after four frickin' years (2019-2023) of quite frankly not doing anything with the property peppered with excuses such as "Covid-19" and the "Writer's Strike" allegedly holding him up?
Trusting Sam Esmail with "Battlestar Galactica" at this late date is as foolish as trusting Simon Kinberg with "Battlestar Galactica" at this late date.
What does a corporation do when it always wants to renew (so to speak) its ownership of a "Property / Copyright", yet at the same time it never has any intention of doing anything brand new with that "Property / Copyright?"
They keep issuing "Fake Press Releases" moment after moment, year after year, decade after decade. To always give the false impression that something constructive is always being done with the "Property / Copyright." To always give the false impression that the "Property / Copyright" is always in a state of ascension. As opposed to lapsing into the "Public Domain." This prevents anyone else from purchasing and / or nabbing the "Property / Copyright" and actually doing something constructive with it.

1. Sam Esmail has aged 10 years in the past 4 years, making it seem like even longer time has passed with him not doing anything with "Battlestar." He has come across as a "Slacker" who doesn't give a shit about "Battlestar."
2. All of us who care about "Battlestar" (the 1978 series) know the script of these "Fake Battlestar Press Releases" from "Universal Studios" spanning 22 consecutive years (2001-2023)....
The Script....
A. The alleged project is announced.
B. 6 months later, an alleged problem with the alleged project is announced, primarily a showrunner or someone else of alleged importance within the alleged production leaves the project.
C. 12 months after that (we're at 18 months total now), it is announced that only a "Second Draft Script" has been come up with in all of that time.
D. For some reason, the name "Dylan Clark" is always come up with and thrown into the mix as some "Ever Present Idiot" (above everyone else in authority) always guiding the "Alleged Battlestar Project" along since "Day One." Yet he has never produced anything for 22 consecutive years (2001-2023.)
E. A few more years pass, and the alleged project just sort of "Passes Away" (like a dead dog) with no explanation as to why it did.
F. A few more years pass, and it is claimed that the project is either still on, or a new project is taking its place.

G. "Covid-19", "9-11", and the "Writer's Strike" have all been blamed for shutting down alleged "Battlestar" productions for 22 consecutive years (2001-2023), yet all other movie / tv projects in production during those eras proceeded uninterrupted.

Sam Esmail has taken so long with his alleged "Battlestar Galactica" revival that his hair has turned gray.
"Peacock-Streaming" has had roughly three years to work out the technical glitches with its sports coverage. These glitches still haven't been fixed.
This is a corporation that quite frankly, just doesn't give a shit about any aspect of what it is supposed to be doing for a living.
