Yes, his ZERO PROGRESS With "Battlestar" is continuing uninterrupted with actual work and progression since September 2019.
"So Say We All!!"
Yes, his ZERO PROGRESS With "Battlestar" is continuing uninterrupted with actual work and progression since September 2019.
"So Say We All!!"
Actually utilizing what you own in a series of robust sequels and in the process of doing so, building a healthy franchise in the process. And actually respecting the franchise. Respecting what came before and utilizing it.

Thank God none of them ever made anything "Battlestar" related. It would have been an epic disaster across the board. Even worse than Ronald D. Moore's "Train Wreck" if that's even possible.
"So Say We All!!"
It would need 150-200 million subscribers to justify the expense.
"So Say We All!!"
Since "Comcast / NBC-Universal" ALWAYS FAILS at making money with everything else it owns, fantasy related....
Because "Comcast / NBC-Universal" can ALWAYS successfully navigate an entire "Half Decade" ( 2019-2024) like it's NOTHING, when it comes to NOT MAKING anything "Battlestar" related.
"So Say We All!!"
1. Sam Esmail
2. Simon Kinberg
"So Say We All!!"
1. Contemporary society must be reflected with "Artificial Intelligence."
And...
2. Ronald D. Moore's "Star Trekky Schlock Universe" must be continued. Even though (in reality) it NEVER had anything to do with what "Battlestar" really is. The "1978 Series."
How about simply continuing to explore the supremely interesting universe of the "1978 Battlestar Galactica Series" already set-up and still never fully explored because the "1978 Series" was canceled after only 17 episodes?
This could include and explore the real origins of the "Cylons" as "Lizard Entities."
"So Say We All!!"
On the first of every month, look forward to....
"The Sam Esmail ZERO PROGRESS Report"
Look forward to the monthly updates on Sam Esmail continuing to NOT LIFT a FINGER in not making anything "Battlestar" related.
This exciting series of new posts will go from February 1st, 2024 thru December 1st, 2024.
Of course, interspersed with this new feature will be the regular posts asking the eternal question....
"What was Sam Esmail doing from 2019-2023 when he wasn't making Battlestar?"
Four years before the "Writer's Strike" began.
"So Say We All!!"
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Writers_Guild_of_America_strike
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/mr-robot-creator-sam-esmail-154439613.html
So, what was Sam Esmail doing from 2019 - 2023, 3.5 years BEFORE the "Writer's Strike" began?
Why wasn't he working on "Battlestar" from 2019 - 2023?
There was never a "Writer's Strike" in Sam Esmail's way during those preceding years preventing him from working.
"So Say We All!!"
....Or screwing it up even worse than Ronald D. Moore did....
Just isn't worth the wait.
(2019-2024) - My oh my!! Isn't "Peacock - Streaming" just making a shitload of expeditious progress with "Battlestar!!"
"So Say We All!!"
"So Say We All"
1. All press releases coming from "Comcast / NBC-Universal" claiming that there will be an alleged "Battlestar Galactica" movie and/or tv show always have been and always will be FAKE.
2. Within those "Fake Battlestar Galactica Press Releases", the "Re-imagining Ideas" will always be CRAPPY.
3. NEVER within those "Fake Press Releases" would the notion ever be mentioned of continuing the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series.
4. The producers / writers mentioned in these 'Fake Press Releases" ALWAYS fail to inspire confidence in anyone because they always all have SHITTY and UNDERWHELMING track records in "Hollywood" and their alleged ideas for "Battlestar" ALWAYS "Suck Ass!!"
5. The underwhelming corporate name "Peacock - Streaming" always forces everyone to roll their eyes in disgust when it is mentioned in the same breath as "Battlestar Galactica."
6. Everyone do the math: "Comcast / NBC-Universal" has been "Intellectually Incapable" of making a "Battlestar" movie in a quarter century (2001-2024) and a tv show for "Peacock-Streaming" in 5 years (2019-2024).
7. But the "Fake Battlestar Press Releases" keep being "Crapped Out of Their Corporate Keysters" with reckless abandon.
"So Say We All!!"
Didn't we go through similar nonsense like this already with Ronald D. Moore's "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) series?
Comcast / NBC-Universal - "Let's instruct Derek Simonds to splash lots of paint on a canvas, and then call it 'Battlestar Galactica.' It will keep the real identity of 'Battlestar Galactica ' (the 1978 series) as vague and as incoherent as possible."
Comcast / NBC-Universal: "Wherever the splattered paint lands and dries, we'll call that 'Battlestar Galactica.'"
Comcast / NBC-Universal: "The 'Artsy Fartsy People' who frequent 'Incoherent Art Museums For Snobs' will love it."
"So Say We All!!"
1. Derek Simonds
2. Sam Esmail
3. Simon Kinberg
4. Frances Lawrence
5. Dylan Clark
6. Michael DeLuca
7. Scott Stuber
8. Bryan Singer
9. Tom DeSanto
10. Michael Lesslie
This entire group (individually and collectively) would never have enough "Clout" in "Hollywood" to get even a "High School Stage Play" green-lit.
This entire group is "Bargain Basement, Clip Your Coupons, Paid For With $1.98 (For The Whole Group) No-Talents!!"
"So Say We All!!
Sam Esmail's "Alleged Battlestar Production" will continue NOT getting made.
2. May 2024
New "Alleged Showrunner" Derek Simonds will leave this "Alleged Battlestar Production" (after NEVER having worked on it during the previous four months) in favor of a new project that came along for him.
3. June - December 2024
No further news will be heard about Sam Esmail's "Alleged Battlestar Production." However, bits and pieces of news will leak out about Sam Esmail working on various new projects here and there. In place of "Battlestar."
"So Say We All!!"
...."Comcast / NBC-Universal" has just declared that the "Battlestar Galactica" title and property will now take place ONLY within the "Wizard of Oz" universe.
How "Dorothy" and the other characters will fight off "Cylons" at this point is anyone's guess.
The "Wicked Witch" will probably be commanding the "Cylons."
Sam Esmail is currently unavailable for comment.
The above song is also the "Anthem" of the entire "Comcast / NBC-Universal" corporation along with Sam Esmail and Simon Kinberg
"So Say We All!!"
"So Say We All!!"
And this is how "Comcast / NBC-Universal" keeps preventing the "Battlestar" copyright ownership from falling out of its corporate hands and lapsing into the "Public Domain."
It keeps issuing these nonsensical and "Fake Battlestar Galactica Press Releases" with an endless series of "Underwhelming and Untalented Producers / Showrunners / Writers" allegedly attached to these alleged projects who all could NEVER create anything that would amount to a significant "Hill of Beans" anyway.
"So Say We All!!"
Even if this thing did get made as described above, it wouldn't be "Battlestar Galactica", except in Name Only (like Ronald D. Moore's nonsense) and it would be a quickly ignored, quickly forgotten "Low Budget Schlock Fest" on "Peacock-Streaming" - (The King's of Crap) and instantly replaced by more low budget garbage on "Peacock-Streaming."
"So Say We All!!"
First it was....
1. Sam Esmail wanted to parallel what Ronald D. Moore did.
Then it was ....
2. He had no actual production plans at all.
Now it's....
3. Both the "1978 Battlestar Series" and Ronald D. Moore's "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) series will be abandoned in favor of doing a third, alternative take on the "Battlestar" property.
"So Say We All!!"
That's not a compliment. It never is. It's RIDICULE.
"So Say We All!!"
Derek Simonds will make ZERO PROGRESS as the alleged "Showrunner" for Sam Esmail's alleged "Battlestar" reboot, and Derek Simonds will abandon this alleged project within six months (July 2024.)
And why wasn't Sam Esmail working on his alleged "Battlestar" project the previous four years before the "Writer's Strike" began?
2019-2023
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/mr-robot-creator-sam-esmail-154439613.html
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Writers_Guild_of_America_strike
The "Writer's Strike" is NO EXCUSE for Sam Esmail to fall back on. Such an excuse is non-existent in reality.
"So Say We All!!"
Sound asleep from boredom.
"So Say We All!!"
1. The "Fake Press Release" is initially announced allegedly involving one or two producers who have track records in Hollywood that are underwhelming to say the least.
2. Ronald D. Moore's dreaded "GINO" - (Galctica in Name Only) series is mentioned as an alleged "Production Blueprint" for the alleged new movie / tv show.
3. If the alleged production is an alleged tv show, "Showrunners" are announced within the first three months of the initial, first fake press release, and then the "Showrunners" abandon the production within 6 months after they were initially announced as the "Showrunners."
4. 18 months pass from the time of the initial, first fake press release, and during those 18 months no further news is heard about the alleged production except....
A. During those long 18 months, only a first or second draft script is claimed to have been produced.
5. It's now the 19 month mark, and the alleged producer(s) of the alleged production now make a video claiming that some sort of delay has occurred with the alleged production, involving....
A. Pandemics
B. Erupting Volcanos
C. Killer Bees
D. Stampeding Elephants
E. "Producer / Writer's Strikes" in "Hollywood."
6. After that, no further news is heard about this alleged production ever again.
7. "Comcast / NBC-Universal" then releases a new batch of "Fake Battlestar Galactica Movie / TV Show Press Releases" with new producers who have underwhelming track records (to say the least) in "Hollywood."
"So Say We All!!"
Here, Sam Esmail claims that he doesn't have the format for his alleged series figured out yet.
Here, the reverse is claimed. That Esmail does have the format locked in and he is on the brink of hiring a production crew because the format is indeed locked in.
Another thing. Sam Esmail has NO CLUE as to what "Battlestar" is. It isn't generic Science Fiction offering commentary on what "9/11" was, as what Gene Roddenberry or Rick Berman would have done in the "Star Trek" universe. And what Ronald D. Moore did badly in his "Rick Berman Era Star Trek Sequel Series" called 'GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) series.
"Battlestar" is an entirely different universe with links to ancient "Egypt", and a secondary plot involving "12 Worlds." And a third plot involving the origins of the "Cylon / Human Conflict" set off by the humans trying to protect an "Amphibious Race" (The Hessarris) from attempted "Cylon" subjugation that pissed the "Cylons" off.
At no time, has Sam Esmail ever come close to accurately describing this "Battlestar" universe. He's just offering endless, warmed over "Star Trek" cliches done badly by Ronald D. Moore.
"So Say We All!!"
And Ronald D. Moore's "Mass Market Flop" of a series swiping the "Battlestar" brand name would allegedly be the "Production Model" for Sam Esmail's alleged series?
This blog weeps for the non-existent future of the "Battlestar" brand name whether something is ever made or not.
"So Say We All!!"
"So Say We All!!"
"So Say We All!!"
Just endless talking (yak-yakking) about "Battlestar."
And Sam Esmail hasn't figure out long before now (and he still doesn't know after 5 years - 2019-2024) what direction to take "Battlestar" in?
But wait!! Didn't he just read an outline (for his alleged series that he didn't write, yet he is supposed to be in charge of this series) that he liked?
Continued endless, conflicting, pandemonium, chaos (after decades) with "Battlestar", always coming from the ultimate source of the procrastinations, delays, and problems, parent corporation "Comcast / NBC-Universal."
And this in itself doesn't even include the other idiots (under "Comcast / NBC-Universal's" eternal, dysfunctional guidance) who also FAILED to Bring Back "Battlestar"....
1. Simon Kinberg
2. Frances Lawrence
3. Michael DeLuca
4. Scott Stuber
5. Bryan Singer
6. Tom DeSanto
7. Dylan Clark
8. Jack Paglen
9. John Orloff
10. Lisa Joy
"So Say We All!!"
And Sam Esmail sure has AGED in the "Half Decade" that he hasn't been making "Battlestar", hasn't he?
"So Say We All!!"
