The SyFy Channel Home Page Always Looks Like a "Disorganized Flea Market" With Odds & Ends Not Fitting Together Thrown Everywhere

What is to be expected when a corporation (NBC-Universal) puts zero thought into purchasing a Science Fiction channel before they purchase it.

Shouldn't a corporation always ask these questions of itself before purchasing a Science Fiction channel?

1. Those of us who work for this corporation, are we Science Fiction fans?
2. Do we know enough about Science Fiction to justify purchasing a Science Fiction channel?
3. Is it a good fit within our corporate portfolio to purchase a Science Fiction channel?
4. Does our corporation..."Fit In"....within the social culture of Science Fiction?

5. Are we always going to be at odds with Science Fiction fans because we don't know shit about running a Science Fiction channel?

6. Are we eventually going to have to convert the Science Fiction channel into a general interest cable channel with no discernible and singular on-air identity because we failed miserably at trying to run the channel as a Science Fiction channel?

7. Do we have enough imagination and inspired thinking to run a Science Fiction channel?

8. Is our operating budget for the channel going to be so low that we'll end up being a garbage dump for crappy B-movies, wrestling, and boring as shit reality programming?

"Saga Of a Star World" Without a Doubt, Has The Most Unused And Never Seen Footage Of a Television Pilot In History

Remember in my previous post I stated there was a missing scene of "Starbuck" assisting remaining stranded colonists? And the scene was represented on a..."Topps Bubblegum Card?"....Here it is!! "Starbuck" is either helping these colonists board the refugee ships from a planet surface...or helping them board shuttles for the waiting refugee ships in planet orbit....or helping them board shuttles for immediate transport to the..."Galactica"....

What is "Starbuck" looking at? He's looking at something in yet another deleted scene from..."Saga of a Star World"....

More of Jim Peck as a Caprican newscaster experiencing the same devastation that Serina  (Jane Seymour) did while Caprica was being bombed.

There was more to the Ovion shuttle ride when Apollo, Jolly, and Serina were abducted shortly after Boxey was also abducted. Here they are disembarking.

And moments later they are escorted across that bridge to the Ovion Queen and the waiting Boxey, Boomer, and Starbuck.

How Many Scenes Are Still Missing From "Saga of a Star World" Due To Universal Studios Typical Negligence With The "Battlestar 1978" Series?

Still Missing Scene #1:

Baltar surveying the ruins of the planet Caprica after the Cylon attack. From the way he is dressed and the color of the sky behind him...I would say Baltar is surveying the ruins of Commander Adama's home moments before Adama and Apollo arrived there to mourn the loss of Adama's wife and Apollo's mother. The fact that he is in the ruins of Adama's home immediately after the Cylon attack at all indicates that he had a personal vendetta against Adama in addition to his overall vendetta for selling out the human race. He is observing his handiwork. This could also be moments before the two Cylon Centurions inform him that...."forces have taken prisoners near the Spacedrome"...

Still Missing Scene #2:

Starbuck and Boomer engaging in additional conversation with the Gemini Freighter survivors not seen in the final cut of the film or anywhere else.

Still Missing Scene #3:

Jane Seymour (Serina) wasn't the only colonist newscaster reporting on the signing of the armistice. Actor Jim Peck also did newscasting duties in...."Saga of a Star World".....

Still Missing Scene #4: 

Immediately after crash landing his Viper and being embraced by Athena, Starbuck storms the bridge demanding to know why Adama pulled the Galactica out of battle. Occurs immediately after Omega says..."We're the only surviving Battlestar"....and Tigh replies...."My God"....No visual documentation but known to have been filmed.

Still Missing Scene #5:

On the bridge, immediately after Athena weeps...."They trusted us to protect them and we..." Adama follows Athena and tries to comfort her while removing her tears.

a. An entire subplot involving the Ovion Queen (Queen Lotay) plotting with the Imperious Leader to do away with the humans. No visual documentation but known to have been filmed.

b. A portion of this scene is on the DVD set. Adama discusses his resignation with the council which segues into a discussion of Sire Uri hoarding food which segues into Apollo discussing Carillon and the Nova of Madagon. Filmed in its entirety.

c. Starbuck helping stranded colonists board the escape ships. A scene from this segment known to have been filmed exists on one of the...."Topps Bubblegum Cards"....from 1978.

d. Additional footage of Cylons chasing Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer, Serina, and Boxey across that bridge. Some of it is seen in the...."Remembering Battlestar Galactica"....documentary on the Blu-Ray and DVD sets.

e. Adama announcing...."General Quarters"....interrupting Starbuck's card game.

f. Rigel announcing additional..."Micron Distances"....never heard due to editing cuts. 

g. Footage of buttons being pressed on the bridge moments before Apollo and Zac's Vipers launch.

h. Additional footage of Starbuck and Boomer disembarking from the Landram on Carillon.

It's a safe bet that there is still a good 25 minutes still missing from..."Saga of a Star World."

The question is rhetorical but I'll ask it anyway....What has Universal Studios done with all of this extra footage?

You Mean, The SyFy Channel Hasn't Adopted The "Space Mutiny" Movie As Its "Corporate Mascot" Yet?

This movie has rolled up into one, everything that is wrong with the SyFy Channel. This movie so parallels every fault the SyFy Channel has ever had in attempting Science Fiction it is downright eerie:

1. Misusing the...."Battlestar Galactica"....property by misrepresenting it in a horrible production of bad conception, bad producing, and bad writing. Like how...Ronald D. Moore's..... "GINO" - ("Galactica in Name Only")....series did the same thing. Universal Studios obviously looked the other way when the..."Battlestar 1978"....footage was used in this film. Or perhaps the...."Battlestar 1978"......footage had fallen into the public domain in the late 1980's and Universal Studios didn't give a shit back then just as they never have past, present, and future.

2. A Z Grade, B-Movie that is perhaps the worst movie ever made. Science Fiction or otherwise. Think the SyFy Channel's..."Sharknado"...."Sharktopus"...."Ice Spiders"...."Frankenfish."

3. Bad conception, bad producing, bad writing across the board. The entire repertoire of the SyFy Channel.

4. The SyFy Channel's attempts at Science Fiction which have deserved nothing more than ridicule.

I'm surprised the SyFy Channel doesn't broadcast this little ditty morning, noon, and night till the end of time. It is them in a nutshell.
