A Year Later, The SyFy Channel Is Still The Same "Train Wreck Disaster" It Always Has Been

Many items to note about this article...

1. This isn't the first time (and it won't be the last) where a press release from the SyFy Channel ultimately turns out to be a crock of shit. (They lied....again.) This channel never improves no matter how many..."Fake Press Releases"....NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel poops out claiming otherwise.

2. A year after this press release...the SyFy Channel is still making crappy monster movies, crappy "Sharknado" movies, hasn't increased its Science Fiction content, still doesn't have a discernible on-air identity, still isn't a Science Fiction channel, still shows anything and everything...but...Science Fiction...and is still the..."Garbage Dump Home Base"....of..."Smackdown Wrestling"....

3. The SyFy Channel forever remains light on Science Fiction and heavy on the..."Maury Povich Style"....of cheap stunts and overall crappy trash television. I have a sinister theory that the scriptwriters for the...."Maury Povich Show"....also run the programming department of the SyFy Channel. In both cases...you're getting that cheap...schlocky....slimy....grimy....repulsive....feeling you get from watching bad television.

4. The SyFy Channel remains forever anchored in...."Basic Television Blandness"...and...."Identity Absent"....self identification. At a moment's notice, this channel abruptly and incompatibly segues from wrestling...to a..."C.S.I."....rerun...to a game show about consuming alcohol.

5. A year later, there is nothing worthy of being called Science Fiction on this channel. Even its feeble attempts at it.

6. Why did this channel abandon Science Fiction in the first place? That tells me its present owners (NBC-Universal) never should have bought it in the first place. If you're supposed to be a Science Fiction channel all of the time regardless of highs and lows in marketing trends, you're not supposed to allow the former and the latter to dictate whether you are or you aren't a Science Fiction channel. That is just plain old.....BAD BUSINESS SENSE. There are very, very bad business people running the SyFy Channel who never had a clue about running a Science Fiction channel. It's been nothing but a....CHAOTIC MESS.....from day one. The entire kitchen sink has been haphazardly thrown into the mismanagement of this channel with no thought whatsoever....and Science Fiction (good Science Fiction) nowhere to be found on this channel.

Bryan Singer And Ronald D. Moore Might As Well Just Retire From Their Feeble Attempts At Science Fiction Over The Years That Were Never Successful

...Because J.J. Abrams can take them both on without even trying. J.J. Abrams is consistently what George Lucas and Steven Spielberg used to be in the early 1980's...An unstoppable force in anything Science Fiction related he touches. He also is light years above Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Singer in terms of talent when it comes to anything Science Fiction related. And..."Oh my gosh!!"....J.J. Abrams.... is also consistently getting the choice (best) jobs in Hollywood Science Fiction related Singer and Moore could only dream of getting.

Whether it's..."Star Trek"..."Star Wars"...."Cloverfield"....or..."Super 8".....J.J. Abrams has consistently proven he can tackle anything Science Fiction related and deliver it to mass market movie going audiences standing in line waiting to see it.

As for Bryan Singer and Ronald D. Moore...They can collectively continue fumbling about with the boring..."X-Men"....movies, television pilots that never get approved, movie projects that never get made, and endless stealth marketing that has never helped the two of them because they were never talented in the first place...individually or collectively. 

Goodbye Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Singer. We really do want the both of you to go. J.J. Abrams has already taken the choice jobs in Science Fiction (in Hollywood) the two of you were never talented enough to do and get in the first place.

Regardless of whatever supposed rational explanation there may be to explain away the fact that...."Battlestar 1978"....footage showed up in a movie not owned by Universal Studios in the late 1980's...the simple fact that it did (and Universal Studios did nothing about it) indicates a lapse of ownership of the...."Battlestar 1978"....footage in the late 1980's....even if that lapse in ownership was temporary.

That means that at the time..."Space Mutiny"...was made...It also means that any other amateur filmmaker(s) at the time also had full access to the..."Battlestar 1978"....footage without having to ask Universal Studios beforehand if they could use it.

It also means even the other major studios at that time (Warner Brothers, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, New Line Cinema) also had full access to the...."Battlestar 1978"....footage without having to ask Universal Studios beforehand if they could use it....without having to pay a nickel to Universal Studios to use it.
