Yes, this was the last of a long series so far (beginning in 2001) of "Fake Press Releases" Bryan Singer made claiming to be directing a large screen version of "The 1978 Battlestar Galactica Series."
What Singer "dove right in to direct instead" (less than a month later, after announcing his "Fake Battlestar Press Release")....http://www.deadline.com/2011/11/bryan-singer-to-direct-and-produce-nbcs-the-munsters-reboot/
...was his actual "Munsters" reboot called "Mockingbird Lane."
Now, Red flags always go up whenever Bryan Singer announces any sort of nonsense he claims to be directing. What makes this particular "One...Two....Punch" (Combo) of "Battlestar" and "Mockingbird Lane" so significant....is that the two projects were announced about a month between the two.
Obviously....Singer had no intention (and physically couldn't) direct both of these projects at the same time. All along, he knew that one of these projects was the "Fake Press Release" and the other project he would actually be directing. Of course, Singer ended up directing the easiest project out of the two ("Mockingbird Lane") while the infinitely more difficult project out of the two to direct ("Battlestar Galactica") was (once again) left to the side of the road in order to rot.
Two notes of interest here:
1. Bryan Singer had the plug pulled on his high profile project "Excalibur", only to be downgraded in professional stature by going straight into (from "Excalibur")...to the "Mockingbird Lane" television movie.
2. There is no doubt in my mind that the "Battlestar Galactica" project announced via "Fake Press Release"....was a "Decoy Project." Never a real project to begin with just as it never has been a real project with Bryan Singer since 2001. It was a "Decoy Project" (perhaps) to buy time for Bryan Singer until the "Mockingbird Lane" project actually solidified less than a month later. Perhaps it was a "Decoy Project" designed to just keep Bryan Singer on the NBC-Universal payroll in a holding pattern until "Mockingbird Lane" came along (the real project) and actually solidified a month later.
One thing is certain. There was some sort of business strategy at play (decoy project) involved in announcing a "Fake Battlestar Galactica Movie" on...

and announcing the real "Mockingbird Lane" movie on...

Read the books Universal Studios has tried and failed to censor on Amazon.com...

And read these books at another location where Universal Studios executives and its stealth marketers won't be able to post negative, misleading (stealth marketed) reviews of the books via them purchasing candy and Rogaine Foam on Amazon.com (allowing them access to the Amazon book review section) and not actually buying and reading the books. I'll leave the other 150 global locations under wraps for now.
