53% off?? Let's be blunt here. At this rate, NBC-Universal will eventually be forced to give this series away for free. It wasn't a mass market success. Instead, it did nothing more than attract the SyFy Channel's "Andy Warhol Oddball, Goofball Friends on Wall Street." A miniscule demographic to say the least always looking for "hidden meanings" in wet splattered paint drying on walls, and in this hunk of junk television series. "Battlestar Galactica" remains the sleeping giant it always has been thanks to the always expected incompetence of NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel.
Well, the premiere of "Defiance" on the SyFy Channel came and went without the world changing for the better on behalf of NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel. The ratings have been...."meh"....and to the best of my knowedge NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel hasn't received a piece of the "Video Gaming Pie" this clichéd ridden series is based upon.
NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel needs to spend a lot less time solely consulting and deciphering meaningless marketing gibberish like this in all of their decisions regarding Science Fiction. They need to spend a lot more time hiring genuinely talented people with inspired thinking to make Science Fiction projects for them, and to undo the decades spanning damage NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel has intentionally inflicted upon the "Battlestar Galactica" property.
Perhaps most importantly, NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel needs to jettison out of the intergalactic airlock as quickly as possible....Ronald D. Moore....David Eick....and Bryan Singer. The most untalented individuals to ever have the collective nerve to dabble in Science Fiction and Space Fantasy. Science Fiction and Fantasy in the movies and on television would be all the better for it with their permanent absence.
