This is What Won't Be Making Any Money For Universal Studios in the Summer of 2013...

....While JJ Abrams "Star Trek" sequel is tearing up the box office in its place....

...Because Universal Studios still has no clue as to how to manage, deal with, or wrap its extremely limited corporate intellect around...."Battlestar Galactica."

Hey, Universal Studios!! Are We Supposed to Be Forgetting About These "Fake Press Releases" of Yours Yet?

October 21st, 2011 Press Release

August 3rd, 2012 Press Release

I think the way it works is...Universal Studios and Bryan Singer consider every "Fake Press Release" they make to be...."Immediate Ancient History"...to be "Immediately Forgotten!!"

"To be or not to be!! That is the question!!" - That's Shakespeare by the way!!

Has The "Battlestar Galactica" Property Turned Into a Financial and Career "Curse" For Everyone Who Has Mismanaged it and Misunderstood it?

Universal Studios -

This studios problem with "Battlestar Galactica" has primarily been (aside from not giving a "horses patooty" about the property and hating it) never approaching it from a pop culture friendly, mass market agreeable standpoint. They always immediately begin trying to pander the property to all of the far-right lunatics in our society (An extremely limiting and narrow demographic group to be aiming for to say the least, and then Universal Studios does a 180 and blames "Galactica" for not making any money for them on a mass market, pop culture level) with an affinity for physical violence, psychological torture, and crappy scriptwriting. In other words, Universal Studios regards "Battlestar Galactica" as nothing more than an episode of "Kojak" or "Starsky & Hutch" with contemporary business suit attire thrown into the mix.

Universal Studios has been experiencing the ultimate financial consequences since 1979 by not making a noteworthy dime off of "Battlestar Galactica" for the past 34 years. Oh yeah, Universal Studios also doesn't have anything to compete with J.J. Abrams "Star Trek" sequel for the summer of 2013 since their "cough"...."Battlestar Galactica" business dealings with Bryan Singer always turn out to be nothing more than fake press releases.

Bryan Singer -

Bryan Singer's first announcement of a "Battlestar Galactica" production occurred way back in 2001. 13 years later and three more "fake" press releases later, Bryan Singer has not filmed one frame of film for any sort of "Galactica" production. Call it what you like such as..."Bad Karma"....but Bryan Singer now can't get any sort of production off of the ground. His ever growing list of 23 aborted projects / fake press releases proves it. Like a "Thanksgiving Turkey" in the oven, Bryan Singer's career now looks like it is..."done."

Ronald D. Moore -

Ronald D. Moore is the last person on this Earth to understand or care what "Battlestar Galactica" really is. He got his fleeting "gig" with the SyFy Channel, slapped the "Battlestar Galactica" logo (and endless three piece business suits) on three nonsensical productions that made no sense whatsoever ("GINO", "Caprica", "Blood & Chrome"), took his low budget paychecks...and ran!! Unfortunately, what Ronald D. Moore "ran" into was an unfruitful "gig" with Sony that thus far has yielded an aborted television pilot ("17th Precinct"), a remake of "The Thing" that didn't work out (it got made without him), a "Wild, Wild West" remake that didn't work out, and a current project that is so forgettable that even I forgot what it was and will also no doubt...never get made.

"Bad Karma"...for Universal Studios, Bryan Singer, and Ronald D. Moore. And all three of them crossed paths with the "Battlestar Galactica" property in a really bad way.

Now Here is a Remake Universal Studios Can Wrap its "Non-Cerebral Intellect" Around!!

http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2012/12/vin-diesel-is-kojak-in-big-screen-remake-of-70s-cop-show.html

Assuming of course, that this is not yet another fake press release from Universal Studios, this is the sort of remake that is perfect for them.

A standard cops and robbers movie...no imagination required to crank out this thing....no imagination required to come up with a fresh and original idea for a movie...just a "by the numbers" remake of "Kojak."

Universal Studios is definitely in its "Native Habitat" with this movie...

No imagination or original thinking required...Universal Studios "Stock Menu Forte"....

My predictions for this movie if it gets made at all...

1. A box office dud
2. Brief theatrical run
3. Quickie DVD release straight to the discount DVD bin at Wal-Mart

Universal Studios strikes again!!

If Bryan Singer's Name Were Attached to This Movie it Would Never Get Made

Thank God Bryan Singer is not attached to this movie and because he is not we can look forward to seeing "Tron 3" within a reasonable amount of time.

It's Vert Important to Keep This List Dusted Off For The New Year!!
