I Got It!! The Next "Schlocky Shark Movie" of The SyFy Channel Should Contain "Shark Repellent Bat Spray!!"

"Oceanic Repellent Bat Sprays"....That is!!

Use them to kill the next critter(s) that appear in a SyFy Channel horror movie.

At The Rate "The SyFy Channel" is Going, It Should Be Joining These Other "Defunct Cable Networks" Really Soon

Of course, the "SyFy Channel" has the odd distinction of killing an earlier version of itself because its corporate owners at NBC-Universal didn't in fact, like Science Fiction. They of course, didn't ask permission from the Science Fiction fan community before they did so. Why don't they just finish the job and wipe out the current incarnation of itself (SyFy Channel) and spare the public anymore of its repulsive and toxic nonsense in the form of its badly produced and written horror movies? Before bad business decisions such as (Sharknado and its sequel) eventually does the job for them.

Has The SyFy Channel Ever Confronted The Reality of How They Actually Perform as a Cable Network?

http://articles.latimes.com/2013/jul/12/news/la-syfy-sharknado-ratings-nielsen-fintastic-20130712

"Sharknado's" ratings weren't spectacular by any means. Even by the SyFy Channel's laughable standards they were below average. An earlier movie produced by the SyFy Channel pertaining to sharks got double the ratings "Sharknado" got. Why didn't the SyFy Channel pay any mind to this earlier movie that got double the ratings? Because they never got any attention for it online. What the SyFy Channel always craves....attention. From anybody for any reason.

Want to know what it is about the SyFy Channel and this stupid "Sharknado" movie of theirs? Because the SyFy Channel got a little bit of attention from adolescents on "Twitter" (attention that did not translate into high ratings for the SyFy Channel)...The SyFy Channel has been gushing all over itself while staring into the mirror. So much so, that they immediately placed an order for a sequel to this stupid movie. Why? Because they got a little bit of attention from adolescents on "Twitter" who ultimately did not watch the "Sharknado" movie itself. Not because "Sharknado" got huge ratings. The normal and rational justification for ordering a sequel to a television movie.

These "Twitter" people posting "tweets" weren't the slightest bit interested in watching the "Sharknado" movie, they were just taken with the idiotic premise of sharks being whipped around in a tornado. It makes for fun water cooler conversations, doesn't it?

Is there anybody at the SyFy Channel....or NBC-Universal...or "The Black Tower"....who does the slightest bit of research into reality on behalf of their own corporation?

I didn't think so....

Is It Really a Bad Thing For an Actor or Actress to Be Rejected by The Producers of "Sharknado" For its Thoroughly Unnecessary Sequel?

http://www.tmz.com/2013/07/28/sharknado-sequel-tara-reid-rejected/

I submit that this is the last thing in life that Tara Reid should give a second thought about. I also submit that it can only be good thing (a blessing) for any actor or actress to be rejected by the producers of "Sharknado" for sequel appearances. An actor or actress can only move on to bigger and better things and since we're talking about  rejection from a "Low Budget, B-Grade Schlock Horror Movie Sequel" on the SyFy Channel, anything in life would be better than this, even if Tara Reid were to sit at home and read a book. That would still be better than appearing in the "Sharknado" sequel.

Professionally speaking...being rejected by the producers of "Sharknado" for an appearance in its sequel I equate with being fired from a job as the "Tilt-a-Whirl Operator" at your local carnival and county fair. The person who pushes and pulls the great big lever that makes the "Tilt-a-Whirl" start and stop.

This is precisely what Tara Reid has gone through. No biggy.

I Think it Can Be Safely Concluded That NBC-Universal is a "Curse" to Everything Science Fiction Related it Comes into Contact With

The SyFy Channel - NBC-Universal can try and spin the facts any way they want to try and make themselves look good in this matter. The fact of the matter is, they thoroughly wrecked what once was a great "Science Fiction Cable Channel" of the 1990s. NBC-Universal took a "Corporate Wrecking Ball" to the once great "Sci-Fi Channel" of the 1990s and then mutated it into an "Incoherent Mishmash of Endlessly Conflicting Programming Formats" combined with the ever present arrogance in bad management from Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern. This cable channel is badly managed and it thoroughly stinks as a cable channel.

Battlestar Galactica - Under the wise management of any other corporation on Earth, the "Battlestar Galactica" property in its only true form as presented in the "1978 ABC-TV Series" would have become the third legitimate alternative to "Star Wars" and "Star Trek." Under the repeated and inexplicably bad management of Universal Studios and its various owners since 1978, "Battlestar Galactica" remains in its only true form as presented in the "1978 ABC-TV Series" a still sleeping giant and missed opportunity in doing something truly extraordinary with its format as created by Leslie Stevens in 1977.. The endless parade of "Hucksters" and "Opportunists" who still try to attach themselves to this property through NBC-Universal (including Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Singer) for the sole purpose of trying to advance their own careers yet are unable to do so because they lack the talent and across the board imagination to do anything constructive with "Battlestar Galactica", also keeps this property in "Sleeping Giant" status.

The SyFy Channel Original Movies - Let's be blunt here. The "Wink...Wink....Ha...Ha...Hee...Hee..."..."Look how bad those SyFy Channel horror movies really are" running gag really isn't a "gag" at all and really isn't funny at all. These movies really do stink and are offensive to everyone on every conceivable level. Each horror movie is also an ongoing "Time Capsule" of how NBC-Universal, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern can't produce, write or create anything (worth a shit) on any conceivable level...quality entertainment for the masses.

"Opening up the potential of the Sci-Fi Channel" my ass. What Bonnie Hammer actually did to the once great Sci-Fi Channel is turn it into a "Prejudicial Home Base" for all of her bosses at NBC-Universal who are uncomfortable with Science Fiction and hate Science Fiction. It shows in its daily and nightly programming.

Comic-Con - How dare NBC-Universal and SyFy Channel show up at Comic-Con thinking that they have the right to be there and thinking that they have right to hold their heads up high there as if they never repeatedly do anything wrong with Science Fiction and "Battlestar Galactica." They aren't worthy to even be walking in the front door of Comic-Con for any reason.

A box office flop and the critics hated it. Did the movie division of SyFy Channel (the dysfunctional home of "Sharknado") in fact.....make R.I.P.D.?

"Retro-Flashback Fun Day!!" A New Recurring Item on My Blog Where I Showcase The Accidental and Self-Inflicted Wounds of NBC-Universal Upon Itself!!

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=media&img=23067&id=landofthelost.htm

Today's excursion into ridicule.....

Universal Studios big budget flop from 2009!!

"Land of The Lost" starring Will Ferrell!!!

What in God's name was Universal Studios thinking when they greenlit a big budget movie remake of an obscure Saturday morning kids show from 1974 that no one....and I mean no one....of this generation of moviegoers would even know what the hell it is....what it was....or what the hell it was doing on the movie screens of their local Cineplexes? Hell, even the "Baby Boomer Generation" that watched this show in 1974 would have a hard time dusting off their memories and trying to find this show in their craniums!!

This is one of the many reasons why NBC-Universal is so broken in its management thinking as a corporation. They believed everyone spanning generations would remember and know what the hell "Land of The Lost" was from 1974....and yet they repeatedly claimed throughout the decade of the 2000s that no one would remember the "Prime Time Big Budget Battlestar Galactica Television Series from 1978."

I think the "Suits" in the Universal Studios "Black Tower" need to pass this around to one another a few more times for inspiration as to what their next ludicrous idea for a movie will be.

This Ridiculous Film Clip From "GINO" Illustrates Perfectly Why NBC-Universal Never Should Have Owned "Battlestar Galactica"

It speaks volumes....right here....in this film clip....as to why "Battlestar Galactica" is owned by the wrong people and the wrong corporation.

What do we see in this film clip?

1. NBC-Universal and Ronald D. Moore did not have the appropriate budget (not large enough by any means) to do any sort of justice to "Battlestar Galactica."

2. There was a lack of caring from all involved in this "GINO" production. There was no "Battlestar Galactica" of any sort being done here. Instead, "GINO" was a low budget production crapped out of everyone's rear end on cruise control while it was being made in Vancouver.

3. "GINO" was made by a corporation and made by people who are not Science Fiction fans and not "Battlestar Galactica" fans. Instead, it was made by a corporation and by people accustomed to the "assembly line"...."crank it out fast regardless of quality".....mentality all too common in television production today.

4. There was no attempt whatsoever made by the corporation and people who made "GINO" to convey the slightest sense of a credible alternate reality supposedly taking place thousands of light years from Earth. Instead, "GINO" was harshly and jarringly grounded in the contemporary real world (right here on Earth) destroying any credible illusions to the contrary due to this production not having the appropriate funding to do so, this production not having any behind the scenes talent to make it happen, and the ongoing stunning arrogance and naivete of Bonnie Hammer and Ronald D. Moore every step of the way....always drastically overestimating their own self love while this "GINO" thing was in production.

5. "GINO" was not "Battlestar Galactica." Instead, it was an odd hybrid of badly written soap opera clap-trap...stolen ideas from "Star Trek"..."Species"...and "Blade Runner executed very poorly, astonishing low production values (this show never did have a budget of any sort for wardrobe), cranked out by a group of people with a staggering lack of talent  and imagination in all departments across the board. The "Battlestar Galactica" title being slapped on the entire mess.

6. The makers of "GINO" expected forgiveness from television viewers in too many areas of its production:

a. That location shooting looked like exactly like what it was....location shooting under sunny blue skies in local neighborhoods.

b. There was no imaginative costume designer to be found anywhere in this production.

c. This was a very lazy television production made by very lazy people who wanted television viewers to overlook that as well.

d. That most of "GINO's" cast members couldn't act worth a shit, primarily the "ever frowning" Edward James Olmos and the "zombie, blank staring" Mary McDonnell.

e. That in addition to not being "Battlestar Galactica" at all..."GINO" was quite frankly...a boring as shit production.

f. That "GINO"...like the SyFy Channel which spawned it....lacked an on-air coherent identity. "GINO" was in fact...."That John Doe, Soap Opera-ish, Spaceshipy Watchamcallit" television series.

g. That Ronald D. Moore and David Eick quite frankly, didn't know what the hell they were doing as the producers of this mess.

h. That "GINO" needed another good year in pre-production just to nail down exactly what its identity was supposed to be as a television production. Among many, many other behind the scenes issues with this production.

I can't wait to start ripping apart "Helix" when that arrives D.O.A. at the SyFy Channel!!

It Should Come as a Surprise to No One That NBC-Universal's Inability to Master Science Fiction on Cable Television (SyFy Channel) is Carrying Over Quite Nicely to Their Theatrical Films as Well

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/21/ripd-box-office-disappoints-the-conjuring_n_3631777.html

The next time Universal Studios wants to blow $130 million on a Science Fiction / Fantasy movie, they might want to think about having the right people on staff in their "Black Tower" long beforehand who understand and like Science Fiction, and the right hired hands in the field actually making the movie before they blow that $130 million.

Wasn't "Defiance" with Tom Cruise a Box Office flop as well?

Hmmm....Interesting.

Well...Well...We Have a 10 Year Anniversary Coming Up on October 21st, 2013!!

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/topic/304766-battlestar-galactica-the-complete-epic-series/

Yes!! It was on October 21st, 2003...when Universal Studios released its "Steaming Pile of Donkey Dung"....infamously known as...."Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Epic Series......" to the general public.

Where does one begin when describing their "pull no punches" hatred for this poorly manufactured DVD set?

Was it....

1. Discovering the cracked discs sitting in the trays as you unwrapped this DVD set for the very first time shortly after buying it on October 21st, 2003?

2. Was it the freezing discs your otherwise "just fine' DVD player struggled to play?

3. Was it the fact that misleading advertising was printed plain as day on the packaging of this DVD set? "Digitally Remastered" my ass. The pilot episode especially looked terrible. As if a VHS copy was dipped in chocolate syrup and then transferred to DVD as is.

If Universal Studios ever gets around to transferring this series to Blu-Ray, run for cover and beware of falling shrapnel!!

Read this blog on October 21st, 2013 as I will have a complete and exhaustive retrospective on this DVD set the likes of which would have made the late "Cinefantastique" magazine publisher Frederick S. Clarke proud!!

Retro - Flashback Fun Day

Universal Studios lies its "Corporate Rear End Off" with this press release of theirs from October 21st, 2011. As these "Fake Battlestar Press Releases" are released by Universal Studios every two years, we're just about due for another one around October 21st, 2013.

August 3rd, 2012 - Bryan Singer squirms in his seat (and stutters) when caught off guard about the "Battlestar Galactica" movie he and Universal Studios have been announcing (and not making) since 2001.

The Difference Between The SyFy Channel and Quality Science Fiction is Staggering. We Might as Well be Comparing a "Slurpee Big Gulp" to a "Rolls Royce"

Corporate executives usually are "Cerebrally Handicapped" when it comes to the entire issue of Science Fiction. Unfortunately, this handicap has been unusually potent and concentrated at NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel....the last corporation on Earth that should be owning what is supposed to be a Science Fiction channel for any reason.

"Sharknado's" ratings were low even by the SyFy Channel's laughable standards, yet the corporate mentality there is jumping up and down for joy that their low rated and low budget "B-Movie" was paid attention to by a miniscule number of teenagers on "Twitter." SyFy Channel executives love to be paid attention to by teenagers on "Twitter" so much, they greenlit a sequel to "Sharknado." What can be summed up here? SyFy Channel executives don't care about making money, they just want to be paid attention to by teenagers on "Twitter." If the "attention" is in the form of "notoriety", SyFy Channel executives will take even that since they have always failed to attract respectable attention to themselves.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Questor_Tapes

What real, quality Science Fiction is. Irony always being as cruel as it is, "The Questor Tapes" is owned by NBC-Universal...a corporation "too cerebrally handicapped and too adolescent" in its corporate thinking to comprehend the value of what they have on their hands with "The Questor Tapes." The makings of an ongoing Science Fiction franchise. It no doubt never even occurred to NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel to dust off this television movie and do something intelligent and contemporary with it by hiring the right people to do it because I doubt very much that NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel even knows what "The Questor Tapes" is, or that it has been owned by the various incarnations of their corporation since 1974....Because this corporation quite simply is not intelligent enough to handle the entire issue of Science Fiction.

No, NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel has been too busy having "Endless Corporate Wet Dreams" trying to get attention on the Internet with the endless garbage (their endless freak show parade of crap monster movies) they keep putting on the air.

The United States may get a quality Science Fiction cable channel some day...but it will never be provided by NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel.

Read the books Universal Studios has tried and failed to censor on Amazon.com...

And read these books at another location where Universal Studios executives and its stealth marketers won't be able to post negative, misleading (stealth marketed) reviews of the books via them purchasing candy and Rogaine Foam on Amazon.com (allowing them access to the Amazon book review section) and not actually buying and reading the books. I'll leave the other 150 global locations under wraps for now.

The "X-Men" Fan Boys Aren't Excited Yet? Word on The Street is That The Same Director Who Used "The Devil Wears Prada" as Inspiration For "Superman Returns"...

is now claiming to be directing "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Will we be seeing Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman in high heels if this is true?
