And Still More Pictures of Lost Footage From "Saga of a Star World"

Baltar surveys the ruins of someone's home on "Caprica" after the Cylon attack. Was this before or after the Cylon troops inform him that human prisoners...."Were taken near the Spacedrome?"

Was there still more footage of the destruction of the...."Battlestar Atlantia?".......

Was there still more footage of Starbuck's card game with the Gemonese?

Bridge personnel are busy doing what exactly at some point during..."Saga of a Star World?"....

Still more to Starbuck and Athena in the landing bay immediately after Starbuck's crash landing.

More footage of Starbuck and Apollo in the Gemini Freighter with the human survivors. We have behind the scenes personnel to the left.

More Proof (As if Anymore Proof is Needed) That Evidence of The Lost Footage From "Saga of a Star World" Continues to Show Up In The Darndest of Places

In vintage packs of..."Topps Bubblegum Cards" from 1978....No Less!!

After being abducted by the Ovions....Apollo, Jolly, and Serina disembark from the tram in their search for Boxey, beginning their journey on foot to confront the Ovion Queen - Queen Lotay.

Apollo, Jolly, and Serina are led by the Ovion worker to the Ovion Queen's chambers (Queen Lotay) across the bridge they will soon be running for their lives across during the finale....chased by Cylons.

Still making their way to Queen Lotay's chambers.

More of the alternate cut of the "Caprica" attack with Jim Peck instead of Jane Seymour reporting on the attack, engulfed in it himself.

Unidentified lost scene from..."Saga of a Star World"....Starbuck looking up at something.

"Picking Up The Last Stranded Colonists?"....Was Starbuck on Caprica overseeing the civilian population load themselves onto the Rag-Tag Fleet ships? Observing from his Viper in case he would need to use his Viper lasers on Cylons if they tried to interfere with the evacuation?

"Adama's Dream?"...of what exactly? If this and every other lost scene were located and released to the public, we would all find out...wouldn't we?

A "Director's Cut" of "Saga of a Star World" Is Still Avoided By Universal Studios Like The Plague

Did Starbuck and Athena pause to argue in the landing bay immediately after Starbuck's crash landing?

Starbuck and Boomer make their way down the staircase into the "Carillon Casino" in this extended sequence. Observing aliens galore (footage never seen) as they sight see through the casino.

In this alternate cut of the "Caprica" attack, Jim Peck reports on the attack instead of Jane Seymour.

The original sequence (unedited) of the "Carillon Casino" had humanoid aliens galore.

We will most likely never see a "Director's Cut" of "Saga of a Star World" due to Universal Studios being the lost cause it always has been towards all things..."Battlestar Galactica 1978." In order for such an animal to be manufactured, this never before seen lost footage would had to have been stored extremely carefully in air tight canisters for the past 36 years in proper temperature. Given Universal Studios extremely noticeable behavior (hostility) towards...."Battlestar Galactica 1978"....during the past 36 years (reaching its heights during the decade of the 2000's when Ronald D. Moore's "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) series was on the air, such proper storage of this lost footage most likely never took place and most likely, this lost footage was consciously dumped in the trash by Universal Studios at some point during the early to mid 1980's. Maybe even sooner.

We do have some missing footage on the "Galactica DVD Set" from 2003 of the pilot episode, but it is of course incomplete with many lost sequences still missing in action. In addition to the above lost sequences, there is also...

1. Baltar surveying the ruined home of someone on the planet "Caprica" immediately after the Cylon attack.

2. Sequences of the Ovion Queen conversing with the Cylons.

3. Starbuck confronting Colonel Tigh immediately after his crash landing demanding to know why the Galactica pulled out of battle.

4. More footage of the council...primarily a longer sequence leading up to Apollo suggesting the "Nova of Madagon" be used as an alternate escape route.

5. More footage of Adama on the bridge trying to comfort Athena after Zac's death.

6. A long sequence of an Ovion worker giving Apollo, Jolly, and Serina a guided tour of the Ovion mines immediately after Boxey's abduction. Including a disembarking from the tram they ride, and also including a slow walk across that underground bridge towards Queen Lotay's (Ovion Queen) chambers.

7. Starbuck chatting with a female at a game table (not Athena or Cassiopia) where he gets more information about the casino.

I can accept the tragedy that some older films and television shows may have ended up having lost footage due to unintentional tragedy, such as a fire on a movie lot. What I can't accept (in the case of...."Battlestar Galactica 1978")....is that 30 minutes of still missing footage from its pilot episode is probably lost forever due to intentional oversight (from day one) fueled by animosity from Universal Studios towards this series (from day one - September 17th, 1978.) A tragedy that could have been simply avoided since day one if...."Battlestar Galactica 1978"....simply had better owners, and not the rotten owners Universal Studios has always been.

For Starters, The Packaging For These Two Items Is Underwhelming To Say The Least

http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Battlestar-Galactica-Definitive-Collection-Remastered-Collection/20514

Would any consumer purchase a Blu-Ray collection of any television series with unattractive packaging like that?

Another thing. What are consumers really getting with these two Blu-Ray releases?

1. The previous DVD release from October 2003 with all of the archaic extras from that 2003 DVD release. Nothing new.

2. Doesn't it stand to reason that the visual effects from 1978 for these two Blu-Ray releases wouldn't hold up to such a high def Blu-Ray release?

3. Wouldn't it make more sense to rehire John Dykstra or hire CBS Digital to upgrade all of the visual effects for...."Battlestar Galactica 1978".....making them suitable for a Blu-Ray release? The endless stock footage special effects shots in this series didn't even hold up at all to the VHS cassette releases in the 1980s. Yet, this series is going to high-def  Blu-Ray regardless... without state of the art upgrades to the visual effects??

4. The original series was shot in full frame, yet the series is being released  "Wide Screen" in one of these sets?? Is this going to be another "Fake Widescreen" release that plagued the 125 minute pilot episode of...."Battlestar Galactica 1978." (i.e. - Those infamous black bars eliminating 28% of the picture at the top and bottom due to those black bars trying to make a "Fake Widescreen?") If the original series was also filmed with...."Widescreen Cameras"....concurrently with the...."Full Frame Cameras" used to film a series...Universal Studios sure as kept this a secret for the past 36 years....until now.

5. A good 30 minutes of the pilot episode...."Saga of a Star World"....is still missing and unaccounted for by Universal Studios. And these 30 minutes of missing footage never showed up in the 2003 DVD release either....

a. Adama announcing...."General Quarters"....during Starbuck's card game.

b. More scenes between Adama and a grief stricken Athena on the bridge.

c. Starbuck (immediately after crash landing) approaching Colonel Tigh on the bridge and demanding to know why the Galactica pulled out of battle.

d. After Boxey is captured by the Ovions...Apollo, Serina, and Jolly are given a tour of the Ovion mines (on foot) by one of the Ovion workers before being reunited with Boxey. Including a walk across that bridge everyone used to run away from the Cylons during the climactic battle.

e. More to the scene of Anton trying to convince Adama not to resign from the Council and leader of the fleet...which merges into Anton accusing Sire Uri of hoarding food...which merges into Apollo discussing the "Nova of Madagon" as an alternative escape route.

f. The original voice of the Imperious Leader (Ted Cassidy)
g. The original on set recorded voices of the Caprica survivors approaching Apollo.
h. Baltar surveying the abandoned ruins of someone's home on Caprica.
I. Rigel announcing time distances never heard before..."85 Microns"...."60 Microns"....
J. Control console buttons being pressed on the bridge before the Vipers launch.

A corporation the size of NBC-Universal just can't locate and round up all of the missing footage for one of its "television series pilot episodes" regardless of how long ago it was shot ??

I can just hear one of those...."Universal Studios Executives"....now....

Universal Studios Exec: "But....But...But...But....It was 36 years ago!! How can you possibly expect us to keep track of every inch of film shot for a pilot episode from that long ago??"

It's called proper storage..... and proper bookkeeping....and proper accountability....and responsible management at the highest levels keeping tabs on this never used and never seen footage....and impartial evaluations of what you own....and the wisdom involved in properly archiving our television heritage for future generations to see and to know.

I'm sure this footage was tossed in the trash heap by Universal Studios decades ago, precluding any future releases of it on Blu-Ray and DVD.

The preservation of this lost footage would have made the two future Blu-Ray releases mentioned above really worthwhile instead of these two releases merely being a high tech rehash of what came before.

Definitely a Step In The Right Direction, I Will Give Universal Studios That (I Say With Cautious Optimism)

http://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwgeeks/article/From-Universal-Pictures-Home-Entertainment-Battlestar-Galactica-The-Definitive-Collection-The-Remastered-Collections-20141124

BUT!!!....

If you're going to go to all of this trouble to remaster...."Battlestar Galactica 1978"....Why not make a little side trip to a local.... "CGI Effects House"....or better yet....rehire John Dykstra (and give him all of the time in the world he needs) to upgrade all of the visual effects for this series (all 24 episodes) with special attention of course paid to the pilot episode....getting rid of all of the God awful stock footage effects shots in this series. And the stock footage got especially bad in the final episode..."Hand of God"....where you had 100th generation copies of the stock footage dogfight scenes. (Low Resolution in these dogfight scenes)

The key to this project would be John Dykstra. Nobody could do it better than him because he had such a flair for this project in the first place!!

I would especially love to see John Dykstra's upgrades for....

1. Saga of a Star World - The Pilot episode
2. Gun On Ice Planet Zero
3. Hand of God
4. Living Legend
5. Fire in Space (And change the title to, "Fire In The Hull" or something else)

"SyFy Story Masters" Want to Instruct Us All On How to Tell a Good Story

http://www.syfy.com/videos/Syfy%20Story%20Masters%20presented%20by%20Halo/Chapters

This should be very entertaining and ironic since the SyFy Channel has never told a good story themselves during the entire 15 year odd years Universal Studios and its various corporate parents have owned (trashed) this channel.

If anything, NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel (God love em') has taught all of us how to tell a bad story!! It's a snap!!

1. Always hire the worst producers / writers money can buy (Ronald D. Moore)

2. Purchase cheap ass wardrobes (Business suits, jeans, casual shirts) in bulk at local "Salvation Army" outlets and retail outlets and then write your crappy story around your cheap ass wardrobe. ("Gino - Galactica in Name Only")....."Everything that happened before will happen again." In "Z Nation"...."Well you see everyone is a zombie and because everyone is a zombie no one has had the time to go to the local Laundromat to do a few loads or buy new clothes in order to "spiff" themselves up a little bit."

3. Hire a low budget ass production company ("The Asylum") that has your flare for terrible storytelling and inadequate budgeting in all areas of film and television production across the board....and team up with them!!

4. Keep the on-air identity of your cable channel always ambiguous (SyFy) so you can keep leapfrogging all over kingdom's creation making crappy movies and television shows never nailed down with discernible formats.

5. Cling stubbornly to ludicrous and stupid sounding story ideas ("Sharknado") with the intent of building a franchise of some sort that never comes to fruition.

This Blu-Ray Release Has The Infamous "Canine Territorial Spraying" of Universal Studios All Over It

1. A "Region Free" Blu-Ray release sold only in England. "Region Free" means this release won't be coming to the United States. If you want it, order it from...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battlestar-Galactica-Complete-Original-Blu-ray/dp/B00MFQV56A/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1414549070&sr=1-3-fkmr0&keywords=battlestar+1978+blu+ray

2. There is no listing of "Extras" for this Blu-Ray release. That can only mean (1) You get screwed due to no extras, or (2) you get screwed because the extras suck.

3. No reviews of this Blu-Ray release anywhere on the Internet, mere days before its release.

4. This release is safely tucked away and hidden from...."Mass Market View".....across the pond in England due to zero promotion from Universal Studios. And then when only half a dozen copies sell, Universal Studios will bounce back (like they always do) and say...."You see? We told you this series has been a flop for the past 36 years!!" Deflecting any blame away from themselves that they (Universal Studios) have been 100% responsible for this series not taking off the way it could have with mass market audiences from day one (September 17th, 1978)

"Z Nation" Limps To The End of Its Laughable First Season

http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/z-nation-season-one-ratings-33873/

Only one more episode of the series that no one was watching in the first place. At least until, the low rated second season begins lord knows when.

What the heck, right? "Z Nation" is a low budget easy to film series outdoors on location with easy to crank out zombie makeup a child could apply him/her self. With a rags to rags wardrobe easily obtained from any flea market.

This is one cash cow the SyFy Channel would be foolish to let go of. (Rolling my eyes)

Now Here Would Be One of The Many Respectful Ways NBC-Universal Could Honor The Memory of Glen A. Larson

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/69533

Remaster all of the visual effects for the...."1978 Battlestar Galactica Series"....I'm sure Glen A. Larson was as frustrated as the fans back in 1978 and 1979 that the limited technology of the time and the relentless penny pinching of Universal Studios and ABC-TV forced the same stock footage effects scenes to be repeated again and again for all 17 episodes.

This would be a glorious opportunity for Glen A. Larson to smile down from Heaven and see how his series was repaired to his original intentions.

Of course, Universal Studios will pass on this new opportunity as well since they passed on every other opportunity during the past 36 years to do this series right....and of course, Universal Studios has always hated this series as well.

So, How is NBC-Universal Going to Pay Tribute to Glen A. Larson After The Decades of Successful Television Shows He Gave Them?

NBC-Universal owes the late Glen A. Larson a lot. A real lot. Generally speaking, Mr. Larson gave them decades of successful television shows and lots of revenue. Specifically speaking, he gave them "Battlestar Galactica" (which they spent decades mismanaging the hell out of and stigmatizing with their fake, politically motivated stories of failure), he gave them "Knight Rider", he gave them "Buck Rogers",he gave them the second pilot episode of "The Six Million Dollar Man" and so on.

So, how is NBC-Universal going to repay their moral debt to this man?

1. A trophy, an award to his heirs.

2. Proper DVD and Blu-Ray releases of "Battlestar Galactica 1978" right here in the U.S., and not DVD/Blu-Ray releases tucked away and hidden in England.

3. Other Glen A. Larson shows released on DVD/Blu-Ray as well.

4. Back pay to his heirs for all of Glen A. Larson's shows.

5. A Glen A. Larson tribute on the SyFy Channel.

Let's all stand in awe at what NBC-Universal and SyFy Channel doesn't do.

The Passing of Glen A. Larson Leaves The "Battlestar Galactica" Property In The Hands of NBC-Universal's Horrible Mismanagement of It

I have come to realize over the years that the late Glen A. Larson's inability to get "Battlestar Galactica" revived over the years had nothing to do with him and instead had everything to do with a hopelessly dysfunctional and inept corporation (NBC-Universal) that refused to budge an inch on the issue of "Battlestar Galactica" coming back in the 21st Century. This was the corporation that Glen A. Larson was up against for the past 36 years. A brick wall.

NBC-Universal instead surrounded itself with the hopelessly inept (Ronald D. Moore), and the lost causes (Bryan Singer) who believed that Glen A. Larson's "Battlestar Galactica" was broken in the first place needing to be fixed. Of course, Glen A. Larson's "Battlestar Galactica" (the 1978 series) was never broken and just needed to be supported and guided into fruitful pastures in the first place by those at Universal Studios who controlled the purse strings. Substituting Glen A. Larson's highly imaginative 1978 series with calculating cold hearted board room decisions resulted in Ronald D. Moore's pile of garbage infamously known as GINO - (Galactica in Name Only) complete with business suits and retro automobiles emanating from a culture supposedly thousands of light years from Earth that never heard of Earth....and Biennial fake "Battlestar" movie announcements specifically designed to raise the spirits of, and then ultimately disappoint Glen A. Larson's fan base...of course always resulted in Glen A. Larson's..."Battlestar Galactica"....not coming back.

Ronald D. Moore never having created an original idea in his entire career (if you want to call his career a legitimate career) has even taken to calling himself the...."Creator of Battlestar Galactica"....and the...."Re-Creator of "Battlestar Galactica" despite the serious issues it has caused him with the "Writer's Guild." And I urge Glen A. Larson's heirs to keep a close eye on Ronald D. Moore from here on in to make sure that he doesn't pull those stunts again to try and benefit himself. The cut and paste hack job (GINO)  with conflicting and incompatible crappy ideas that Ronald D. Moore had the nerve to attach Glen A. Larson's...."Battlestar Galactica"....title to was no more...."Battlestar Galactica"....than the late 1980s VHS crap fest....."Space Mutiny"....was.

NBC-Universal's mismanagement of Glen A. Larson's "Battlestar Galactica" (if it hasn't done so already) will go down in history as the most notorious politically motivated mishandling of a property on purpose (Let's not upset George Lucas here with a return to the familiar waters that got him so upset in the first place back in 1978) the entertainment industry has ever seen.

Alright, Glen A. Larson. May you Rest in Peace, Sir. As a current and past fan of your "Battlestar Galactica", I initially misjudged you in many ways. For that Sir, I apologize. And I hope my apologies reach you in Heaven where you are commanding a Battlestar of your own.

"Ghost Hunters" Runs All Day On The SyFy Channel. Because If You're The SyFy Channel, That's The Sort of Thing You Run During Turkey Month

http://www.Syfy.com

The cast of "Ghost Hunters" should be thankful during the month of "Thanksgiving 2014" that the SyFy Channel has been stupid enough to renew them for 10 straight seasons after failing to produce one inch of footage showing an actual ghost during all of that time.

Staged movement of objects in its place, however.

Oh yes, and lots of fake ghost chatter (Fake EVPs) created by the producers and cast on the.... "Dubbing Stage"....

The miniscule SyFy Channel audience consists of idiots who believe this nonsense is real.

And read these books at another location where Universal Studios executives and its stealth marketers won't be able to post negative, misleading (stealth marketed) reviews of the books via them purchasing candy and Rogaine Foam on Amazon.com (allowing them access to the Amazon book review section) and not actually buying and reading the books.
