As We Close Out 2013, Let's Always Remember to Keep The "Fake Battlestar Galactica Press Releases" of Universal Studios and Bryan Singer Properly Inventoried

October 21st, 2011 - Gee, whatever happened to this movie, Universal Studios? And also what happened to this same movie in 2009, 2008, and 2001?

August 3rd, 2012 - Where else would Bryan Singer be? Always along for the ride when "Fake Battlestar Galactica Press Releases" (among many, many others) are involved.

It Appears The "Ronald D. Moore / SyFy Channel Stealth Marketing Machine" Has Kicked In To High Gear For "Helix"

http://io9.com/first-impressions-helix-is-syfys-best-new-show-in-yea-1480372505

Are We surprised? Would we expect anything less from these two? Would we expect anything less than the latest example of their highly derivative, boring work be propped up to holy high heaven with a stealth marketing campaign devoid of any realistic criticism?

Thank God Bryan Singer's Horrible Sequel to His Horrible "Superman Returns" Never Got Made!!

Is it the "Borg Queen" from "Star Trek: Voyager" after a sex change operation? Is it a futuristic "Count Dracula?" Is it one of the "Walkers" from the "Walking Dead" merged with shiny technology? Yes, this thing was all of these things rolled into one. This thing was Bryan Singer's proposal for "Superman's" arch enemy "Brainiac" in the "Superman Returns" sequel that never materialized. (There is a God!!")

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/12/23/concept-art-for-brainiac-from-bryan-singers-nixed-superman-returns-sequel-plus-bonus-plot-details/

Yes, Bryan Singer's conception of  "Superman's" arch enemy "Brainiac" would have been a "Walking Dead Zombie"...."Count Dracula"....and the "Borg Queen" from "Star Trek: Voyager" all rolled into one...."Shaken not Stirred."

Every single day the evidence mounts on top of evidence that Bryan Singer should just remain a fan of Science Fiction / Fantasy movies and not try to make them. Because he either fails to make these movies completely as the list below proves, or the movies he does manage to make are filled with just plain, stupid ideas as the "Superman Returns" sequel would have demonstrated.

Yes, I Would Imagine This is The Very Sort of An "Inharmonious Business Environment" Restraining "The 1978 Battlestar Galactica Series" For The Past 35 Years

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/7-signs-of-a-dysfunctional-company/

How could anything with this much limitless untapped potential possibly survive in such a "mucky" and "yucky" inharmonious business environment such as this?

Yes, I'm open for business on Christmas Eve because "The 1978 Battlestar Galactica Series" doesn't rest on this day either.

Why Is It...Whenever The SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore Are Involved In a Project Together, You Gradually Discover "Sinister Things" Going On With The Project?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2758950/fullcredits

http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/scifi/helix-teaser-trailer-tv-version-john-carpenters.html

1. Now, Ronald D. Moore didn't create this thing. The creator of "Helix" is Cameron Porsandeh. Yet, for some reason in the marketing of this thing, SyFy Channel wants everyone to believe that "Helix" has been...."brought to you by....Ronald D. Moore." To me...whenever the phrase..."brought to you by"...is used, that means the creator of the show is...."bringing it to you." It should be a surprise to anyone that after the premature cancellations of "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only), "Caprica", and "Blood & Chrome"....that Ronald D. Moore's birth name has somehow (miraculously) become a "brand name" for attaching a new show to for marketing purposes......Selling new SyFy Channel productions to a skeptical public. He didn't even create the thing! And his name isn't that big within the vast majority of the population.

2. So, it is Cameron Porsandeh who can be blamed for ripping off "John Carptenter's - The Thing" movie from 1982. Despite this, we find the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore still neck deep in something (involved together) in swiping source material from an earlier blatant source ("John Carpenter's - The Thing.") Shades of "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only), "Caprica", and "Blood & Chrome."

The roosters always come back to the "hen house", don't they?

3. Why is it, it's only when the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore work together we find this "Shades of Grey" type stuff always going on? When the SyFy Channel works with other people on other projects, such as the creators and producers of "Defiance" this type of stuff never happens. It's just a straight forward no-nonsense production (even if I don't like it) devoid of the...("Well, he actually created this, and that was swiped from an earlier television / movie production, and he over there is actually the creator" sort of nonsense.) It's only when the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore work together on a project that every rug has to be looked under, every dark corner needs a bright flashlight, every banana has to be unpeeled and diced up for secrets. Why is this? Why is it always this way with these two?

Everyone involved in this production brought it on themselves that there would be obvious comparisons made to "John Carpenter's Thing" movie from 1982. "Helix" did not have to be set at an arctic research facility like John Carpenter's movie was. Why not have this research facility located underneath "Union Station" in New York,  or in the jungle? On top of "Helix" being set at an arctic facility, "Helix" also has graphic, gory, bloody, slimy, gooey things happening to the human body just like in John Carpenter's movie. And just like in John Carpenter's movie, it is a "Science Fictiony" source of evil driving the narrative. Did anyone involved in this production even try to come up with an original idea? Why not bring John Carpenter on board and just do a televised version / continuation of his movie from 1982? The end result would have been identical either way. If you're merely "slightly rewriting" a movie from 31 years ago, you might as well just do a televised version / continuation of it instead.

After Suffering Through "Superman Returns", I Wouldn't Put Much Stock into Bryan Singer's "Editing Abilities" Since He Isn't Much of a Director Either

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2527758/Anna-Paquins-character-Rogue-cut-X-Men-Days-Of-Future-Past-director-Bryan-Singer.html

Bryan Singer is the same guy who clocked in "Superman Returns" at over 2 hours, and at the same time managed to pad this movie out with thoroughly unnecessary and endless scenes of Brandon Routh staring blank faced at everything with hardly any scripted dialogue. Ironic now how Bryan Singer is suddenly in the mindset of trimming scenes from a movie.

I think it would be perfectly fair under the circumstances to get a second opinion about Anna Paquin's cut scenes from Richard Donner. Now there is a guy who knows how to cut a movie. Hey. Donner!!....put Anna's cut scenes back in!!

As for Anna....

Don't worry, my dear child!! You will learn fast that life goes on just fine if you are cut from a Singer movie!!

This "Terrible Trio" Never Made it Big With "Mass Market Science Fiction Fans" Because They Only Do What They Know How to Do and Science Fiction Ain't It

This has never been a "Science Fiction Channel" under NBC-Universal's laughable management because they have never known how to manage a "Science Fiction" channel. So they manage this network in the only way they know how....as a "John Doe, Nameless, Faceless Cable Channel" resembling to the letter....ambiguous ABC-TV, CBS-TV, and NBC-TV..... "WWF Wrestling", a "Sharknado" movie of the week, a cooking show, "Ghost Reality Shows." All of this is the same sort of...."Generic, Nothing in Particular Nonsense"...the commercial broadcast networks (ABC-TV, CBS-TV, and NBC-TV) have been piping into everyone's living rooms for decades.

And then representatives from the SyFy Channel have the nerve to show up at "Comic-Con" every year acting like they are a pure "Science Fiction Cable Channel."

Ronald D. Moore's only strength within the realm of Science Fiction has been following the orders  of scores of other people above him (who knew what they were doing with Science Fiction) when he was a staff writer for the "Rick Berman era, Star Trek" series. In other words, when he is told what to write by superiors (Rick Berman) who really do know what they are doing within the realm of Science Fiction, Ronald D. Moore will be just fine.

By himself however, without anyone to tell him what to do, Ronald D. Moore's instincts towards Science Fiction get all lop-sided....as "Mass Market Unattractive" as possible...and "Batsh*t Crazy."

Ronald D. Moore didn't know how to tackle a Science Fiction project called "Battlestar Galactica" when he erringly took on the job by himself. His solution was to use the title only...."GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) and crank out a televised version of "Blade Runner" and a "Suicide Hotline" version of "Star Trek: Voyager" without any sort of thought or pre-production work done in such vital areas as wardrobe, location shooting, logical script development, and production design.. Not having much of a budget didn't help matters any either. So in the final analysis, "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) wasn't a "Battlestar Galactica" production or a Science Fiction production of any sort. It was instead, a very strange "Smorgasbord Hybrid" of the "9/11 Era in America", a badly written soap opera, "random acts of repulsive violence just for the sake of doing them" (never vital to the plots)...and very bad acting (Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell.)

In the realm of Science Fiction, Ronald D. Moore has also demonstrated a "permanent inability" to come up with original ideas on his own:

1. "Helix" - Heavily influenced by John Carpenter's "The Thing" movie.
2. A "Thing" remake script ultimately aborted and made by other people (not Ronald D. Moore.)
3. "17th Precinct" - "Harry Potter" set in a police station.
4. "Wild, Wild West" remake - Wisely aborted by CBS-TV.

So...what does Ronald D. Moore know how to do? Make stuff that resembles other people's work. Stuff that isn't very good...and stuff that doesn't deserve to be called "Science Fiction" because it isn't "Science Fiction."

There are only two types of movies Bryan Singer knows how to make. (Even in these only two categories he isn't very good at making them, but he can get them made) Low budget movies such as "Apt Pupil" and the large scale "X-Men" - (X1, X2) movies.

Hand Bryan Singer anything else however, (a script for "Logan's Run"..."Excalibur"...."Battlestar Galactica"..."Six Billion Dollar Man") and he will be totally out of his comfort zone psychologically. Oh sure, he'll crank out a press release announcing his intent to direct such productions, but he will ultimately never make them. He doesn't know how to proceed with a movie if it's not an "X-Men" movie or a low budget, intimate film.

If Singer did indeed direct "X-Men: Days of Future Past", he is on a one way trajectory to only directing endless "X-Men" sequels not because these endless sequels really need to be made, but because they are the only types of movies he knows how to make.

The "X-Men" movies are not Science Fiction, and Bryan Singer is not a Science Fiction guy. Thus, he hasn't made it big with Science Fiction fans either.

Look at all of the movies and television productions Bryan Singer doesn't know how to make if they are not "X-Men" based....Yep, he will crank out a press release announcing his intent to make them yet never will, but he ultimately doesn't know how to make any of these productions because they are not "X-Men" productions....

The "X-Men" Movie Series is Really Beginning to Show Signs of Old Age, Isn't it?

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=112695

...To the point where I'm beginning to get the distinct impression that Bryan Singer is the only one left who is enthusiastic about this never ending movie series. This astonishingly boring movie series from day one deserved a trilogy at the most without the "Wolverine"  movies.

How to you make boring "X-Men" movies even more boring? The movie series overstays its welcome by roughly half a dozen too many movies...and then you keep making them beyond that point!!

The "X-Men" movie series is overstaying its welcome just as the original "Hawaii Five-O" television series did...with Jack Lord ageing a decade with each new season.

With Ronald D. Moore, It Was Never About Making Entertaining Television For The Masses. Instead, it Was Always Self Promotion Run Amok

Ronald D. Moore: "Look at me, look at me!! Here I am!! Look at my face!! See my face? See how big my face is in this photo? It's all about my face!! Pay attention to me!! IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!" (Intended to be read quickly)

http://www.blastr.com/2013-12-17/new-blastr-origins-story-ron-moore-reveals-how-battlestar-galactica-came-be

I touched upon this the other day and it seems it needs to be elaborated upon. Ronald D. Moore isn't in the television biz to entertain mass market audiences with mass market palatable product. He's not in the business to make quality and entertaining  television series. He's in the business for self promotion / ego gratification and nothing else from what I can tell.

Take a look at this article for example. What is the first thing you see when you click on this article? Ronald D. Moore's face enlarged to a ridiculous degree. This guy isn't out to win over mass market audiences or to entertain anyone with quality and palatable television series. It's all about self promotion with this guy. Using his television projects he always wings his way through to promote himself. His television projects are secondary, he comes first. The article above isn't really about "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only)...it's about Ronald D. Moore. This is strictly a "Ronald D. Moore" article for Ronald D. Moore. The terrifying and nightmarish enlarged photo proves it.

This article showcases another serious problem. It isn't a sin to have made a television series that failed to catch on with mass market audiences. It is a sin to deny that the failure took place and not let go. Look, "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) was a flop:

1. The pilot movie had the lowest audience test scores in history. Bonnie Hammer rammed the production into existence anyway.

2. Sci-Fi Channel (back when it was still called Sci-Fi Channel with Bonnie Hammer at the helm of the "Titanic") had to lower its "ratings expectations" enormously when the ratings began trickling in for the initial first season episodes. Didn't the low audience test scores for the pilot episode warn of this? Isn't this the sort of thing that television executives are supposed to pay attention to?

3. "SpongeBob" reruns were one of the many culprits on cable routinely and effortlessly beating "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) in the ratings.

4. Regardless of whether or not Ronald D. Moore still considers "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only)..."his baby"....."his baby" simply did not catch on with mass market audiences. And it didn't catch on because not only was it not very good....it also wasn't good at all.

5. Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Singer are two very rare individuals bouncing around the entertainment industry. They aren't talented at what they try to do yet they refuse to pursue other career paths. Because they aren't talented at what they do, they instead invest most of their energies into self promotion instead of promoting the projects they are working on. If they do get around to promoting the projects they are working on...their faces, their personalities, and their opinions are heavily tied into the projects they are promoting, overshadowing everything else...primarily their own projects. So we always end up right back at square one either way because it always ends up ultimately....ABOUT THEM.

It's like Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Singer are always looking for attention even if the projects they are working on are terrible and mass market unattractive, "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only), "Superman Returns."

I have also found it quite "odd" that Ronald D. Moore has always considered it "virtuous" and something to be "lauded" when you ram a television production into existence against the direct wishes of mass market audiences. A production mass market audiences find "repulsive." If this sort of an "Insane Practice" leads to mass market success...then fine, no problem!! When it doesn't, you have nothing to brag about!!  Ronald D. Moore is actually looking for "pats on the back" here. Aside from not being talented at what he does, he is also a terrible business man who has never understood the "dollars & cents" reality of the business he is supposed to be in.

It would seem that the names..."Ronald D. Moore"....and...."Bryan Singer" have become "Self Promotional Brand Names" bouncing around the entertainment industry. These brand names never having anything entertaining whatsoever to offer mass market audiences in the movies and on television.

Bryan Singer Really "Leap Frogs" From One Press Release to The Next, Doesn't He?

http://comicbook.com/blog/2013/12/16/x-men-apocalypse-what-will-it-be-about/

Now, if Bryan Singer has indeed directed "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and will immediately move to directing "X-Men: Apocalypse", does this mean that his four most recent press releases immediately behind "X-Men: Apocalypse" will all be abandoned projects? Singer's usual M.O.?

1. Spooked
2. Creature at Bay
3. The Black Box
4. Twilight Zone remake with CBS-TV

In order for all five of these projects to get made, Singer would need an actual production company with hundreds of people working for him, and not just a "hut" on "Gilligan's Island" with the name "Bad Hat Harry Productions" hanging above the door.

Insert the sign...."Bad Hat Harry Productions"....outside and above the "hut" door.

Evaluating The..."Cough"...."Dark & Gritty Business"....of The SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore a Decade Later

Separated at birth?...Frowning in front of and behind the camera (The "Dark & Gritty Mentality") led to "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) being the most commercially unsuccessful, the most mass market unattractive, and the most downright embarrassing excuse for an alleged Science Fiction television series and pathetic attempt at "Battlestar Galactica" ever documented. In all seriousness, how would you attract any sort of a noteworthy audience with "Narcissistic Nonsense" such as this?

Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel then tried this losing formula again with "Caprica"....and then lost again. And then they made one final attempt with this losing formula with "Blood & Chrome"....and lost again.

Summing up exactly what it was that killed the "Dark & Gritty Business" of the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore....

1. You can't succeed with something called "Battlestar Galactica" if you really hate what "Battlestar Galactica" really is....the 1978 series. When you hate your source material, you've already shot yourself in the foot even before the cameras start rolling. You might as well just go home and not proceed any further.

2. No one in the entire history of the television industry was stupid enough to try and make two sequel series ("Caprica", "Blood & Chrome") based upon a mass market failed parent series, "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only")....until of course, SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore came along.

3. When a television series is all about the self promotion of "Narcissistic Egos" run amok (the two photos above)...and nothing about incorporating entertainment value into the television series you are supposed to be working on...Your productions...."GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only)..."Caprica"....and "Blood & Chrome" are going to fail. Sure enough...they did.

4. A decade later after this failed "Dark & Gritty Experiment"...the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore are no further along professionally or in terms of success than they were a decade ago. The two of them are still doing the same...boring...uninspired...repetitive....mass market unattractive nonsense they were doing 10 years ago.

Isn't it time for the "Corporate Bosses" of these two characters to take a thoroughly objective look at what they have been doing on company time for the past 10 years?

One conclusion I can immediately come to is that...."Dark & Gritty" has never worked for anything except on rare occasions...such as the "Batman" movies.

Where the "Dark & Gritty" works of the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore can always be found. Long forgotten memories appealing to the "Trailer Park Trash" crowd and their family budgets.

And read these books at another location where Universal Studios executives and its stealth marketers won't be able to post negative, misleading (stealth marketed) reviews of the books via them purchasing candy and Rogaine Foam on Amazon.com (allowing them access to the Amazon book review section) and not actually buying and reading the books. I'll leave the other 150 global locations under wraps for now.

Does The SyFy Channel Have All of its "Misinformation Press Releases" Loaded Up For The Debut of "Helix" Next Month?

http://www.syfy.com/helix

Something along the lines of....

1. "Helix' shattered all ratings records for a SyFy Channel debut."

2. "The debut of 'Helix' was number 1 with all demographic groups across the board."

3. "Ronald D. Moore has already won a 'Peabody Award' for the pilot episode of 'Helix' prior to its airing!!"

4. "Based upon the ratings of the pilot episode, SyFy Channel has already ordered a second season of "Helix."

5. "Helix' is the highest rated 'horror' series in television history, even surpassing the 'X-Files!!'"

Let the shoveling of the B.S. begin...courtesy of the SyFy Channel!!

When 70% of Your Advertising Revenue Comes From Scripted, Staged, and Choreographed Wrestling, Isn't it Time to Re-Think The Mission of Your Channel?

SyFy Channel has failed at everything else except wrestling. They have failed at managing anything having to do with Science Fiction, they have failed at re-booting "Battlestar Galactica" and "Flash Gordon", they have failed at making originally produced horror movies, and they have failed at committing to high quality Science Fiction television series not produced by themselves...."Farscape."

The management of this channel needs to begin focusing on the one thing they are extremely good at....and that is producing "Trash Television" for the "Trailer Park" crowd.

Why don't they call themselves...

"Trailer Park Trash?"

A cable channel devoted to (what they already are doing but won't admit it to themselves) entertaining  the lowest common denominator in our society. Pregnant women wearing shorts and flip-flops, and the beer guzzling fathers with pot bellies....living in trailer parks across the country.

1. Their schedule would consist mostly of wrestling matches as in the picture above.

2. They could also show reruns of the old "Morton Downey Jr." show....

This guy was a god to the "Trailer Park Trash" demographic.

3. They could also show wrestling themed movies such as "No Holds Barred" starring "Hulk Hogan."

4. They could show "helpful hint / reality" type shows for the consumer living in a trailer park. Such as...how to host a "Thanksgiving" dinner in your little dwelling when you have 25 relatives coming over because you live in the biggest place out of all of your family members.

5. They could show reruns of "Evel Knievel's" classic jumps....Such as his failed attempt to clear "Snake River Canyon" in 1974.

6. And they could show reruns of the "inexplicably perennial"....."Maury Povich Show."

There you have it. I just gave the "SyFy Channel" a singular, discernible, and easy to figure out on-air identity. Not an identity to be proud of but an identity nonetheless. And it only took me 30 seconds to think about it based upon their strengths and weaknesses.

No more of this "John Doe" on-air "identity crisis nonsense" the channel has been suffering from ever since NBC-Universal bought the former (and great) "Sci-Fi Channel" from the 1990s...and turned it into a steaming pile of monkey dung....because NBC-Universal never liked Science Fiction yet bought a Science Fiction channel anyway??
