It limped along for four low-rated seasons for a reason: Ronald D. Moore and the…."SyFy Channel"....quite simply....FAILED.... to connect with a…."Mass Market Audience"....with its misfire of all misfired....FAILED....television series…."GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only)….
With the....FRAGILE EGOS.....(this blog still suspects) still firmly in place at...."NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel"....which refused to cancel this....LUMBERING TURD....a lot sooner than it actually was....CANCELLED....a decade ago, these....FRAGILE EGOS….(both in front of and behind the cameras) still sing the praises of this inexplicably bad series which only meant something to their small group.
This small group still sings in chorus....
"The greatest show ever!! A post-911 miracle!! Brilliant!!"
This same pathetic, small group still puts this show on any...."Greatest of"....television lists it can find even when it writes these lists themselves....FREQUENTLY.
Reality
The numbers quite simply weren't there for four low-rated seasons. The...."Mass Market Audience"....didn't want it and still doesn't want it.
This....FAILED....television series didn't add to....or build on anything....to the....FAR SUPERIOR....television series from 1978…."Battlestar Galactica"….
In fact...."GINO"....contributed to the entire…."Battlestar Galactica Brand Name"....remaining a…."Sleeping Giant"....during the decade in which it aired (the 2000s) and the (2010s), and all upcoming decades thereafter.
"GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only)….was quite simply, a lazy and re-hashed...."Star Trek Sequel Series"….mined from the…."Rick Berman Era"....thrown together haphazardly in about 20 minutes by a disinterested Ronald D. Moore long since burned out on…."Star Trek"....working for Rick Berman and Gene Roddenberry during the entire previous decade.
Ronald D. Moore should have retired long before making this show, due to overwhelmingly evident…."Star Trek"....fatigue in all of his…."GINO"....work.
He should have retired around 2000 - 2001.
He was the wrong man for the job, putting it bluntly.
