During The Normal Production Trajectory Of Any Movie, "Battlestar Galactica" Would Not Still Be In Such An Embryonic State After 7 Months

One of the many announcments for Bryan Singer's "Battlestar Galactica" movie announced in October 2011.

Identical "no show shenanigans" followed Bryan Singer's movie announcements for a "Battlestar Galactica" film in 2009 and 2001.

This is only as far as the movie has gotten in 7 months?

The old, reliable and status quo "fall back" of subscribe to IMDB PRO and you'll learn more about the making of this movie?

Isn't that "Hollywood speak" for....

"Subscribe to IMDB PRO and you'll learn that no one has lifted a finger to begin making this movie yet?"

Additionally, IMDB has beautifully summed up the usual work habits of Universal Studios and Bryan Singer everytime the two of them "verbally team up" for a "Battlestar Galactica" movie with this rather catchy logo....

"Battlestar Galactica (????)"

Yes, that sums it up beautifully as it always does....

Why Did Bryan Singer's "Excalibur" Movie Really Die?

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Bryan-Singer-Excalibur-Remake-Dead-27411.html

Well, I can certainly subscribe to the theory that someone else beat Bryan Singer to the punch due to Bryan Singer inching along at a snail's pace during the pre-production process.

You could certainly plug this theory into "Battlestar Galactica" and it would explain why a Bryan Singer "Galactica" movie has never materialized in 12 years.

You could also plug this theory into "The Munsters", "The Six Billion Dollar Man", and "Star Trek" and it would explain why these projects aren't unfolding either due to Bryan Singer taking 100 years during the pre-production process.

But is there something else going on here which would explain why Bryan Singer had the "Excalibur" movie yanked from him? Something additional having to do with Bryan Singer's modus operandi of snail's pace in everything he does?

Such as, the studio lost confidence in him during the pre-production process? And not just due to his snail's pace during the pre-production process?

If you look at Bryan Singer's work history during the past decade, it is remarkably light. He very rarely comes through with a project. If he does manage to do so, it takes him years and years to do so. He has been working on "Jack The Giant Killer" for hundreds of years.

In Hollywood, professionalism = expediency. It isn't good enough that you merely know how to make movies very well. You have to crank them out very quickly. I would assume that if you don't crank a project out quickly, you gain a reputation of not being professional.

In the case of "Excalibur", perhaps the studio saw that Bryan Singer wasn't a professional film director because he wasn't fast enough in the director's chair. In some studio's eyes, this may very well mean..."This kid needs to go back to film school."

If Bryan Singer had been the director of the "Avengers" movie presently in theaters, (and not Joss Whedon)...the "Avengers" movie would presently be locked in development hell, eternally stuck in between the press release announcing the movie, and eternal pre-production damnation. The "Avengers" movie would not be in theaters right now if Bryan Singer had been the director.

October 17th 2011...Bryan Singer announced that he was directing a "Battlestar Galactica" movie, just as he announced in 2009 and 2001. The 2009 and 2001 "Battlestar" movies never came to pass. We are now moving into the 7 month mark of the October 17th 2011 announcement, and there is no physical evidence whatsoever that this supposed "Battlestar" movie even exists.

With any other film director, hitting the 7 month mark after a movie's press release would indicate that the world would be very aware of active, physical pre-production going on with that movie.

Not Bryan Singer.

Thus far, the Bryan Singer projects that are not getting made:

1. Battlestar Galactica
2. The Six Billion Dollar Man
3. The Munsters
4. Star Trek
5. X-Men 4 &5

Would Bryan Singer care to share with the world any of his other projects that won't be getting made either?

At What Point Does Universal Studios And Bryan Singer Begin Having Individual And Joint Credibility Issues Over This Film Clip And Many Other Issues?

If it hasn't happened yet already...

1. Battlestar Galactica - No proof of its physical existence yet. 7 months after the above film clip and press release.

2. The Munsters remake - No proof of its physical existence yet. 6 months after the press release.

3. Six Billion Dollar Man - No proof of its physical existence yet. 6 months after the press release.

If they haven't done so already, Bryan Singer and Universal Studios will go down in history as the most unproductive filmmaking partnership in Hollywood history.

What about Bryan Singer's "other dream" of making a "Star Trek" television series? That hasn't materialized either.

Instead of having evolved into a legitimate, formidable, and reliable filmmaking presence in Hollywood, Bryan Singer has instead mutated into an over grown adolescent and "flim-flam artist" who somehow is always able to not follow through with 100% of everything he announces.

This indicates to me that:

1. Bryan Singer is ultimately always unable to get funding for these projects he keeps announcing.

2. His supposed partnership with Universal Studios may very well just be a scam (likely orchestrated and perpetuated by Universal Studios itself with Singer quietly along for the ride), since he hasn't produced anything with Universal Studios in 12 consecutive years.

3. His IMDB page will always be the only accurate indicator of what Bryan Singer is working on. Which means he will always be in post-production with "Jack - The Giant Killer" for the rest of his life.

4. At some point during the past decade, Hollywood overall has probably turned its collective back on Bryan Singer, and will probably never finance anything else he wants to do ever again. Could "Superman Returns" have had something to do with that?

Universal Studios Doesn't Like "The Bionic Woman" On DVD Either

http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=79184&forumID=7&archive=0

And of course...Universal Studios keeps piling on the endless excuses to wax over the "dog-shit condition" of their DVD releases....

quote - "The Bionic Woman - Universal Statement Regarding Season 2 Audio Problem
Studio provides statement

We've had a number of readers report poor audio with "Deadly Ringer, Part 1" on the recently-released season 2 set, and they provided us with the following statement after looking into the issue:
Every episode in the Bionic Woman Season 2 DVD release has been digitally re-mastered for optimal viewing. However, the remastering cannot correct flaws that either were part of the original presentation or that happened over the passage of time. Certain moments within select episodes from Season 2 may include noticeable moments of imperfect picture or audio. This is reflective of the source material which unfortunately, is the best source material that is available to the studio and cannot be corrected. The episodes are still included in the set to provide as complete a collection as possible.

Consumers not satisfied with their purchase can contact Universal Studios Home Entertainment Consumer Relations by email at
USHE.ConsumerRelations@bydeluxe.com or by phone at 888-882-5779, for information on returning the DVD set in exchange for a $30 NBC Universal Store voucher, valid for the purchase of any merchandise at http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com.
Universal will also be noting the problem on future batches of sets that go to retail.

Of course, it is the moral responsibility of every movie studio to continuously take care of the source material of all of the television series they own, since all of these television series are the television heritage of the viewing public and belong to the general public. In this instance, it is obvious that Universal Studios has not been taking care of the source material of "The Bionic Woman" just as they have not been taking care of the source material of "The 1978 Battlestar Galactica" series.

So of course, when the times arrived for Universal Studios to put both "The 1978 Battlestar Galactica" series and "The Bionic Woman" on to DVD, the neglected source material of both which was their own damn fault due to years of neglect, became the only available elements to put on to DVD.

The Piss-Poor Quality of Many of Universal Studios DVDs Can Be Equated With Illegal Bootlegs Manufactured In China

Were the above positive reviews stealth-marketed and staged?

quote - "True,

It's more to do with cheap manufactering than security problems. That said alot of new copy protected discs people are having problems playing on their dvd player.

Universal is legendary for their defective dvd-18 discs. I have only had problems with Kolchak, Kojak & The Monster Legacy Gift Set.

Uni isn't as bad anymore due to the fact they pretty much changed most of their season set discs in single/dual layer disc now.

It really is sad that so many great titles got released with those shitty dvd-18 discs. It's funny that other studios double sided discs I have never had a problem with?-odd." - unquote

quote - "Universal Studios Home Entertainment (USHE) sells defective DVD's. The third DVD disk of a set for a TV series was defective right out of the box. Several of the episodes would not play.

USHE will not answer my emails or complaints on their website. They also did not respond to my BBB complaint. A web search revealed that many others have had similar problems with their defective DVD's. For a while USHE had a program to replace their defective disks but it no longer exists.

They will replace 'consumer damaged disks' for $8 but I didn't damage my disk and why should I pay $8 to replace a defective product? Don't buy DVD's made buy USHE! 0"  - unquote
