Paraphrasing Bryan Singer's Response to a Particular Question...
http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/179985-bryan-singer-answers-fans-questions-about-x-men-days-of-future-past
...No doubt Bryan Singer was drawn back to the "X-Men" franchise via "X-Men: Days of Future Past" due to the necessity of performing CPR on his own career. The consecutive box office failures of "Jack The Giant Slayer"...""Valkyrie"...and "Superman Returns" has pretty much left him a SyFy Channel lackey ("Mockingbird Lane"....a guest host on "Face Off") and periodically directing ice cream commercials ("Magnum Gold Ice Cream.")
It's reasonable to assume (if Bryan Singer did in fact direct "X-Men: Days of Future Past") that this movie is his last ditch chance at being in the "Hollywood A-Game List" of top directors. If "X-Men: Days of Future Past" flops at the box office next summer, we will be seeing Bryan Singer becoming more and more involved (involuntarily) with the SyFy Channel, and doing other trivial projects for television here and there.

Why Did "R.I.P.D." Fail at The Box Office? Let's Get Down to Brass Tacks. Universal Studios Blatantly Ripped Off The "Men in Black" and "Ghostbuster" Movies
The premise of "R.I.P.D." (based upon the comic book) is to pursue "Dead-ites" (dead souls who have escaped purgatory) and recapture them. Fair enough. But why do the souls of dead people in "R.I.P.D." (such as in the picture above) look like the Rick Baker designed...rubberized extraterrestrials in "Men in Black" (such as in the picture below?)
This esteemed "Ball-Chinian" from "Men in Black 2" could also do double duty as a "Dead-ite" in "R.I.P.D." And weren't the evil nasties in Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead" movies also called "Dead-ites?"
Somewhere along the way in the genesis of this movie...Universal Studios became less interested in doing a film based upon the "R.I.P.D." comic book...and instead wanted a movie where the rubberized creatures from "Men in Black" were running around.
I say again...why would the soul of a dead person in "R.I.P.D." look like one of Rick Baker's menagerie creatures from the "Men in Black" movies? Even within the realm of fantasy explanation, any answer would be ludicrous.
What else is wrong with "R.I.P.D.?" Let's start off by spotting the other thefts from "Men in Black" in "R.I.P.D."
Let's see now!! In this scene from "R.I.P.D.", a big open spaced office is where the main characters dwell in between hunting down the bad guys. In the "R.I.P.D." open spaced office, we see rubberized / CGI monsters in the background (in handcuffs) being escorted to jail cells!! The police officers sitting at desks in this scene look like "Retro - Police Officers" from the 1950s in how they are dressed.
My oh my!! Where have we seen this scene before??
Let's see now!! In this scene from one of the "Men in Black" movies...a big open spaced office is where the main characters dwell in between hunting down the bad guys. In the "Men in Black" open spaced office, we see rubberized / CGI monsters in the background (in handcuffs) being escorted to jail cells. The federal employees sitting at desks in these scenes throughout the "Men in Black" franchise of films, look like "Retro Federal Employees" of the U.S. Government from the 1960s in how they are dressed.
In "R.I.P.D.", the good guys fire laser guns at rubberized / CGI monsters and they go "SPLAT!!" Monster residue everywhere!!
In "Men in Black", the good guys fire laser guns at rubberized / CGI monsters and they go "SPLAT!!" Monster residue everywhere!!
Was that enough for Universal Studios? Nope!! They ripped off "Ghostbusters" also!!
In R.I.P.D., there is a big hole in the sky where dead souls arrive and depart!!
In "Ghostbusters", there is a big hole in the sky where dead souls arrive and depart!!
Is there anything else wrong with "R.I.P.D?"
Do you mean to tell me that everyone involved in "R.I.P.D." who viewed the daily footage of Jeff Bridges never spoke up and said...."Ummm...we can't understand a damn thing he is saying. Can we re- film this?" And Jeff Bridges incoherent dialogue was allowed to survive intact in this movie straight through the post-production process!!
Jeff Bridges sounds like he has marbles in his mouth throughout the whole movie. He sounds worse than Bryan Singer trying to B.S. his way through a fake "Battlestar Galactica" press release.
One of the irritants of this movie is the spoken word courtesy of Jeff Bridges!!

You Mean...Ronald D. Moore & Bryan Singer Haven't Yet Tried to "Strong Arm Their Way" Into This Latest "Star Trek" Opportunity With Their Own Batch of "Fake Press Releases" Deceptively Connecting Themselves To It?
http://screenrant.com/new-star-trek-tv-show-roberto-orci/
Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Singer aren't trying to deceptively connect themselves to this latest possible "Star Trek" project with their notoriously "Fake Press Releases" that always have a habit of popping up from out of nowhere? Do they have a fever?
I guess this is the first Science Fiction oriented announcement Singer and Moore would never have a chance at getting involved in (due to lack of talent)....that they let slip away from their "Fake Press Release" treatment.

I Predict That "X-Men: Days of Future Past" Will Be Nothing More Than a "Poor Man's 'Avengers' Movie" And The Umpteenth Boring "X-Men" Sequel
Crushed under the weight of its own uninspired ordinariness, uninspired mundaneness, and uninspired blandness.
Nothing new or fresh to see here (in this movie.)....Move on!!.....Move on!!.....

"Retro - Flashback Inquiry!!" Why Did Bryan Singer Announce He Would Be Directing "The Munsters" ("Mockingbird Lane") Just One Month After Announcing He Would Be Directing "Battlestar Galactica?"
http://scifimafia.com/2011/10/bryan-singers-battlestar-galactica-scores-band-of-brothers-writer/
http://www.paranormalpopculture.com/2011/11/bryan-singer-to-helm-munsters-remake.html
Am I not supposed to be noticing little "Devil in The Details" moments like this? Is Universal Studios and Bryan Singer expecting everyone to "just move on" after little "Devil in The Details" moments like this? Their attitude towards this probably would be...."Oh, it's just the Internet!! Press Releases come and go all of the time. Some stick, some don't!! Time to move on!!"
The fact is, there is a really big issue here. Why would Bryan Singer announce he would be directing "The Munsters" when just one month earlier, he claimed he would be "diving right in to develop 'Battlestar Galactica' with nothing to distract him?"
This event is of major significance for two primary reasons. One, He abandoned the former so soon after announcing the latter. It doesn't fall within Bryan Singer's usual "Modus Operandi" of announcing fake press releases. He usually allows more time to elapse before abandoning a former project in favor of a latter one. And Two...."Mockingbird Lane" was one of the few Bryan Singer announced projects that actually got made.
This in itself is a clear indication that this particular "Battlestar Galactica" fake press release from October 2011 from Universal Studios and Bryan Singer was a fake one. Just as all of the other ones (Battlestar Galactica) press releases were. Because no director could direct two projects of this scope at the same time.
Singer also announced "The Six Billion Dollar Man" at about the same time as the "Munsters" and "Galactica." Make that two times Bryan Singer has announced and abandoned projects so close together.

I Have a Question For Bryan Singer Next Week!! "Hey, Brian!! Why Have You Announced and Abandoned So Many Projects During The Past Decade??"
http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/179901-bryan-singer-answering-fan-questions-on-twitter-next-week
Highlighted of course, by Bryan Singer's "Battlestar Galactica" projects that never came to fruition in 2011, 2009, 2008, and 2001!! In this particular video (dated August 3rd, 2012), he squirms his way through his fake follow-up to a particular "Battlestar Galactica" movie that never existed in the first place announced below on October 21st, 2011!!....
Would questions pertaining to Bryan Singer's huge inventory of aborted projects be considered inappropriate for next week's chit-chat?
No problem...I'll fix that!!...
"Hey Brian!! Did you really direct 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'?"
