Battlestar Galactica Movie -

Since 2001, Universal Studios has been announcing and not making a Battlestar Galactica movie. Starting off as an announced television movie to be aired on the Fox Television Network in 2001, the following decade revealed this project continuing to not get made under the management of Universal Studios with a series of press releases that were not true.

A pattern of press releases not truthful in nature eventually emerged in the decade of the 2000s whereby Universal Studios began announcing and not making this movie roughly every two years. Many within the fandom of this television series have hypothesized that malice against this fandom has been the motivating factor behind Universal Studios announcing and not making this movie. Universal Studios always being fully conscious and aware that these press releases will always lead to nowhere each time it announces them. With a full decade of these questionable press releases having already been logged, there is every reason to believe that there is truthfulness to this hypothesis.

Universal Studios Could No More Reimagine "Battlestar Galactica" Into Something "Mass Market Profitable" Than This Poor Guy Could Get Up and Run The "50 Yard Dash"

Remember, this is the same Universal Studios that has mismanaged the "Battlestar Galactica" property all over "Kingdom's Creation" for the past 36 consecutive years.

 

The same Universal Studios that could never even do a "Director's Cut" of "Saga of a Star World" since the beginning of the "DVD Era" in the late 1990s. A "Director's Cut" infinitely easier to do than a brand new motion picture generally speaking. Unless of course, Universal Studios lost all of the missing footage to "Saga of a Star World" (on purpose) over the years.

 

The same Universal Studios that did Ronald D. Moore's "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) series a decade ago with a straight face while honestly expecting everyone else in the public domain to take it seriously too.

 

The same Universal Studios that has had absolutely no imagination whatsoever towards anything Science Fiction related.

 

The same Universal Studios that has had absolutely no imagination towards anything "Battlestar Galactica" related for the past 36 years.

 

What exactly would Universal Studios....."Reimagine"......"Battlestar Galactica" into? Assuming Universal Studios would actually get off its...."Corporate Butt"....for a change and actually follow through with this movie beyond the...."Fake Press Release"....stage.

 

I shudder to think since....."Battlestar Galactica 1978"....doesn't need to be....."reimagined".....into  anything else. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Shoving All of The "Stealth Marketing Nonsense" Aside, What Ronald D. Moore Really Produced and Wrote Was a "Mass Market Failure" Called "GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only)....

...Which suffered its final "Death Blow of Embarrassment" on David Letterman's late night show by a studio audience snickering at the "GINO" cast members and the "GINO" tv show...involuntarily engaging in forced applause via David Letterman's stage hands shouting...."Yeah!!"....to forcibly rally them...and a "Top 10 List" that wasn't funny or flattering for the "GINO" series in the slightest.

It was an entirely different world for NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore wasn't it?....When they dared to take "GINO" outside of the protective confines of its... "Antiseptic / Stealth Marketing Protected Realm"....and in to the real world (David Letterman's studio audience) where the honest opinions of "GINO" were made known.

To this day...this remains embarrassing as hell to watch.

This is the shame and embarrassment of Ronald D. Moore and SyFy Channel that remains over their heads a decade later.

"GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only) was absolutely disgraced this night on David Letterman.

Even Aaron Douglass (Chief Tyrol) didn't want to be there from how he was acting. Keeping his head down when he first walked on stage, speed reading off his portion of the "Top 10 List", and lowering his head when he was finished.

The most awkward and embarrassing moment in late night television history, ladies and gentlemen. When David Letterman's audience couldn't wait for the "GINO" cast members to leave the stage, because they were getting annoyed. Not knowing or caring who these idiots were up on stage from a television show they weren't aware of and never watched.

The segments...."Stupid Pet Tricks"....."Stupid Human Tricks"....and...."Children Trick-or-Treaters" always get bigger, heartfelt laughter and applause on David Letterman's show than this embarrassing nonsense.

1. "Rigel" announcing numerical distances not heard before. "100 Microns"...."95 Microns"....etc.

2. Buttons being pressed on the bridge just before the "Vipers" launch. Probably by "Rigel" herself.

3. "Adama" announcing "General Quarters" with additional never before seen footage of "Warriors" racing to the launch bay.

4. "Omega" quickly darting his head from the left to the right.

5. "Adama" and "Tigh" observing something.

6. Footage of "Boomer" in his "Viper" looking to the left while in combat.

7. The original voice of the "Imperious Leader." Ted Cassidy?

8. The survivors of "Caprica" yelling at "Apollo" in their original (more compelling) "on-set voices" before they were dubbed over for some thoroughly unnecessary reason no doubt.

9. Explosions sounding more dangerous.

10. A few extra seconds of footage of a bridge officer flying across the "Atlantia" bridge while explosions are going off.

11. A different music cue (never heard before) playing while Starbuck and Cassie are in the launch bay.

12. A head on view of the "Landram" on "Carillon" not seen before.

13. Extra seconds inside the "Landram" as "Boomer" opens the door to get out.

14. More extra footage of the aliens inside the "Carillon Casino."

Plus we have all of the missing and extended spaceship scenes from "Saga of a Star World" in the European theatrical release from 1980....."Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack."

Universal Studios is now playing the "Biennial Waiting Game" once again. Universal Studios is waiting for another two years to pass (while not making this movie) before they announce another brand new "Fake Battlestar Galactica Press Release" in 2016.

It's an endless "Cycle of Corruption" with this studio when it comes to "Battlestar Galactica."
