Thank God Universal Studios Doesn't Own The Rights To "Lost In Space"

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/11/20/netflix-lost-in-space

If it did...the endless layers of conflicting and chaotic management within Universal Studios would have torpedoed this project as well...along with..."Battlestar Galactica 1978"....

And read these books at another location where Universal Studios executives and its stealth marketers won't be able to post negative, misleading (stealth marketed) reviews of the books via them purchasing candy and Rogaine Foam on Amazon.com (allowing them access to the Amazon book review section) and not actually buying and reading the books. You Mean, The SyFy Channel Has Never Issued Press Releases Boasting About How Often Its Productions End Up In The "Wal-Mart Discount $5.00 DVD Bin?"

I guess the little details in life frequently overlook the SyFy Channel. (Rolling my eyes)

The SyFy Channel Tries To Course Correct Itself For The Umpteenth Time With Yet Another Middling Effort Not Enough To Steer SyFy Away From Wrestling and "Sharknado" Flicks

http://variety.com/2015/tv/reviews/the-expanse-review-syfy-thomas-jane-1201644484/

We've heard this story dozens of times in SyFy Channel press releases. The SyFy Channel has finally..."recommitted itself to the goal of the original Sci-Fi Channel from 1990's. To offer space based entertainment and jettison the crappy horror movies the channel is infamous for"......Of course, no explanation is ever given by the SyFy Channel as to why it allowed itself to be detoured (in the first place) into the crappy likes of...."Sharknado"....anything else from...."Asylum Films".....wrestling etc....into a non-Science Fiction channel.

What I've pointed out in the past and what needs to be pointed out again is that the solutions to the SyFy Channel's woes does not involve (in all likelihood) a temporary return to space based entertainment with fare like..."The Expanse"....which will only and ultimately succumb to low ratings anyway because it was never terribly compelling in the first place....and then ultimately yank the SyFy Channel to one side once again forcing the channel to resume wrestling and crappy horror movies....abandoning its umpteenth promise to resume its mission of space based entertainment.

No, the solutions to the SyFy Channel's woes still involves a complete change in management from top to bottom. The present ancient management at the SyFy Channel still sees Science Fiction in two ways...1.Either not do it all or 2. Do it in boring, cliched, and unexciting ways which will ultimately return the channel to being...."Wrestling World"....of the basic cable landscape. The return always being a symptom of bad management.

Every attempt at Science Fiction on the SyFy Channel (including..."The Expanse"....) always and only looks like..."Blade Runner"...and..."Alien"...All of those attempts look like they are set in either universe. Overused after 15 years to say the least.

The Perfect Stocking Stuffer For Relatives Or Friends You Really Don't Like

We all have them. The relatives or friends we really don't like but we have a..."Christmas Moral Obligation"....to get them something anyway.

This little bundle of yuletide horror should do the trick!! A collection of six crappy movies from the SyFy Channel movie library of..."All Things Crappy"....

Does The SyFy Channel Have Its Eye On Any Other Science Fiction Box Office Flops From Years Past It Would Like To Make Flop Television Series Out Of?

Show the SyFy Channel any box office flop from years past of a science fiction nature, and it will wrap its corporate arms around it and give it a great big smooch!!

Who can forget when the SyFy Channel dusted off Ridley Scott's old...."Blade Runner"...movie and had the nerve to call it..."Battlestar Galactica?"....What it was actually was...."GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only)....

"GINO"....was also a good chunk..."Rick Berman Era Star Trek"....and any other old science fiction movie or tv show Ronald D. Moore could remember watching as a kid on local UHF channels on Saturday afternoons back in the 1970's.

Let's look at the formula here that the SyFy Channel just couldn't resist turning into a flop television series. Perhaps the definitive box office science fiction flop from the mid-late 1990's starring Bruce Willis. I'm surprised the SyFy Channel didn't just make it a package deal and simultaneously make the other definitive science fiction box office flop from the mid-late 1990's starring Bruce Willis...."The Fifth Element"....into a flop television series as well.

The SyFy Channel dusted off John Carpenter's old box office flop from 1982 and called it...."Helix"...

Even better!! The..."Boredom Factor"....of this series was amplified 100 fold simply because Ronald D. Moore was involved with it. Typically, it limped along for two low rated seasons before no one noticed its cancellation. Much like..."GINO's"....cancellation after four low rated seasons.

With the SyFy Channel involved, there is always nowhere to go but down in the...."Pits Department"...

I submit this is the next batch of science fiction box office flops the SyFy Channel will try and turn into flop television series....

"Bad Management" Is Characterized By Either Not Doing Anything Constructive With a Property, Or Not Doing Anything At All With a Property

...And it has always been one or the other with NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel going back 35 years in its total mangling of the...."Battlestar Galactica"....property.

This lost cause of a corporation has a lot to show for its non-stop lunacy spanning those 35 years.

...."Battlestar Galactica".....still remains a sleeping giant (not an active franchise) undisturbed and unawakened during all of those 35 years.

No Matter How "Science Fiction-y" The SyFy Channel May Pretend To Be, It Wrecked Its Own Reputation By Putting Wrestling On The Air

http://www.syfy.com

No channel would ever be able to recover its reputation as a science fiction channel after putting junk like wrestling on the air....No matter how hard it would try and no matter how many new badly produced and badly written and alleged science fiction based television shows it may have in the pipeline.

The SyFy Channel is done....period. As it has been done for years. It has had too many lapses in good judgement spanning 15 years to ever recover from anything. It remains a badly managed general interest cable channel without a discernible and singular on-air identity.
