It wouldn't take Albert Einstein to realize what has and is going on here. Bryan Singer is (in my astute opinion) finished as a Hollywood film director, and "Superman Returns" did it to him. Obviously, "Valkyrie" (his last theatrical film of five or six years ago) was allowed to be made before the aftershocks of "Superman Returns" began to close doors for Bryan Singer (as a theatrical director) all through Hollywood. Singer apparently keeps announcing all of these movies he never ends up making, to give the unconvincing impression that he is still in the "game" in Hollywood as a theatrical director?

The fact of the matter is, Bryan Singer's career (in my astute opinion) has been downgraded to television since the failure of "Superman Returns." He is spending more and more time at NBC-Universal directing boring television pilots for them ("The Munsters"), re-announcing the "Battlestar Galactica" movie every two years with Universal Studios as a sick joke, and conceivably is in a holding pattern career wise at NBC-Universal waiting to be placed whereever NBC-Universal needs him in their television division (NBC-TV, SyFy Channel.) If the SyFy Channel needed a last minute director to direct one of its low budget, weekly monster movies, Bryan Singer would probably jump at the chance, using a pseudonym as a screen credit of course. Because Bryan Singer is jumping at anything and everything in television right now in order to keep working. "Magnum Gold Ice Cream" commercials, the "Munsters" television pilot, etc. Let's also not forget that the only two projects Bryan Singer completed this year was the "Munsters" television pilot, and the long forgotten "H+" mini series on http://www.youtube.com. Is "H+" still posted over there?

What Hollywood film director with legitimate clout would immediately abandon the "Battlestar Galactica" movie he announced in October 2011, in order to direct the "Munsters" pilot for NBC-TV? That would be quite a downgrade in salary for a supposedly hot Hollywood film director, wouldn't it? Yet Bryan Singer did it because he really didn't have a "Battlestar Galactica" movie to direct as he claimed in October 2011, and he really isn't a Hollywood film director anymore.

Bryan Singer currently has 15 abandoned projects (in a row). Most likely these projects were never in the pipeline for production in the first place. And it can easily be concluded that "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will either not get made at all, or someone else will direct it. If only one or two of those projects out of the 15 total never got made, I would think nothing of it. But all 15?? In a row?? There is a pattern of some sort at work here, of career immobility for Bryan Singer. And now Bryan Singer is in the process of adding "X-Men: Days of Future Past" to the list.

What Bryan Singer's list of 15 abandoned projects tells me (in my astute opinion), is that he does not have the financial backing from anyone in Hollywood to let him direct another theatrical film. Thus, Bryan Singer has dropped down to directing miscellaneous, rather boring projects for television. Sitcom pilots, ice cream commercials, silly stuff for http://www.youtube.com.

I also find it very interesting that Bryan Singer is the only director in Hollywood to make so many press releases and announcements claiming what he is supposedly doing from one moment to the next. As if Bryan Singer always has some need to let the general public know what he is supposedly doing from one moment to the next. Joss Whedon doesn't feel the need to do this, James Cameron doesn't feel the need to do this, Shaun Levy doesn't feel the need to do this. Only Bryan Singer feels the need to do it. I wonder why!!

1. Don't put Bryan Singer in front of a camera ever again to talk about Battlestar. He "STUTTERS" too much!!

2. If you really don't have anything new to report a year after the scriptwriter (John Orloff) had been hired to write a script. Come up with a better lie other than..."The script is going thru revisions right now."

3. Stop assuming that the public is too stupid to realize that a movie should be much, much further along 1 year after its announcement, with some lame-a** lie that the script is only going thru revisions 1 year later. This movie should be filming right now if it had been really in production (all of this time) according to the start date in the first press release.

NBC-Universal is also so screwed up as a corporation at the corporate level, that they fail to see the business wisdom in making a movie based upon the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series in order to compete with J.J. Abrams ongoing "Star Trek" movies based upon the "1966 Star Trek" series.

There is big business ($$) in nostalgia. Which is what NBC-Universal (the dysfunctional home of Bryan Singer, Ronald D. Moore, and Maury Povich) will always fail to see.

Well, this was a fun year, huh? Sitting back and observing what Universal Studios and Bryan Singer always do after they make a "Battlestar Galactica" movie announcement such as this one.. Sitting on their rear ends and not making this movie they announced. Would we expect anything else from these two "Hollywood Do-Nothings"? Of course not!! If anyone is keeping track, this is the third consecutive time (in a decade) Universal Studios and Bryan Singer announced this production and failed to deliver on the goods. 2001, 2009, and 2011.

Bryan Singer tried to come back on August 3rd, 2012 and project some "vague stuttering illusion" that this movie was in fact moving forward, but he failed miserably.

I think it's safe to say that Universal Studios and Bryan Singer are two of the worst entities on the face of this Earth that could have anything to do with "Battlestar Galactica."

Remember The Good Old Days When Ronald D. Moore's "GINO" Series Was a Low-Rated Flop On The SyFy Channel?

...And David Letterman's audience still didn't know what the hell the show was (even at the beginning of the low-rated fourth season)...So they were laughing at the "GINO" cast members instead of laughing with them during the "Top 10 List?"

This was one of the many examples of when the SyFy Channel's "Stealth Marketing Machine" didn't know when to quit, and properly lay this low-rated series to rest.

Why is Aaron Douglass (Chief Tyrol) keeping his head down in obvious embarrassment? I think I just answered my own question.

When "The Munsters Halloween Special" Airs On NBC-TV This Month...

...It will be interesting to see who actually directed it. Even if Bryan Singer is listed as the director of this thing in the opening credits, the fact remains that this is the only project he and Universal Studios have produced together after being in informal partnership together for 11 years, since 2001...

As the above production schedule of Universal Studios shows, going into 2013 and 2014, this movie announced by Universal Studios and Bryan Singer (initially one year ago) isn't even on their production schedule. Thus far, one year after the top press release. During the past year, Universal Studios and Bryan Singer have instead, coasted along with an embryonic script supposedly from John Orloff lately doing revisions (supposedly.) During the past year, there wasn't even an art department hired to design and build sets, props, and wardrobe while the script was being written?

 

Of course, Universal Studios and Bryan Singer have been repeatedly announcing this production (in different forms) since 2001.

 

How many more decades is Universal Studios and Bryan Singer going to need, to make this movie?

 

Is this some sort of game that Universal Studios and Bryan Singer are repeatedly and knowingly playing in the "Press Release Department" of Universal Studios? It must be...because this same press release is now popping up every two years with a repeated "No Show" of this movie. And this exact same press release has been popping up since 2001. It must be some demonstration of "Inside Humor" within Universal Studios and among Bryan Singer that no one else is finding humorous.

Isn't it interesting how those who really don't have careers anymore in Hollywood always end up at NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel?

Is NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel considered the "bottom of the barrel" in Hollywood?

Predicting The Career Trajectories of Glen A. Larson and Bryan Singer

Glen A. Larson -  He is headed straight for permanent, full time retirement. If the "Manimal" series gets made at all, it will be made by other people with zero participation from Glen A. Larson.

 

 

Bryan Singer - Bryan Singer's very next project (immediately after his already forgotten "H+" webisode series on www.youtube.com) will be a fairly mundane low budget movie (around $30 million) where he will be one of the co-producers. Four other co-producers will be listed above his name in the closing credits of this movie (in order of seniority.) This movie won't receive any fanfare, will have extremely limited theatrical distribution, and will go to DVD very quickly and quietly. The big budget, Sci-Fi spectacle days of Bryan Singer in Hollywood are long gone.

 

1. If "Jack The Giant Killer" gets made at all, Bryan Singer will have nothing to do with it.

2. If "Battlestar Galactica" gets made at all, Bryan Singer will have nothing to do with it.

 



Universal Studios and Bryan Singer Have Repeatedly Proven That They Lack Credibility in Any Project They Announce

And thus neither one of them can be regarded as a professional entity within the boundaries of Hollywood.

Universal Studios and Bryan Singer have mutated into nothing more than Internet based, flim-flam con artists...moving from one deliberately misleading press release to the next. No projects of any sort being produced between the two of them.

As We Approach The 1 Year Anniversary of Bryan Singer's Latest "Battlestar Galactica" Movie Announcement...

...We once again are left wondering whatever happened to this movie (this press release from October 21st, 2011) that Bryan Singer keeps re-announcing every 2 years...

...And we are also left wondering why this movie is only in the "Script Revision Phase" after 1 year, and why Bryan Singer is stuttering after 1 year that..."he hopes to do direct this movie at some point"...when in fact he should have been heavily involved as the director already (heavily engaged in the pre-production process), engaging in such mundane tasks as hiring an art department 1 year ago to design sets, wardrobe, and props...so that John Orloff's script would be ready to go before the cameras once the script is finished 6 months later.

Perhaps it would be best for whatever is left of Bryan Singer's favorable reputation to cease these "Bi-ennial Galactica Movie Announcements" of his, and not make his next "Battlestar Galactica" movie announcements on October 2013....2015....2017....etc.

It always helps when other people are saying the same thing about Bryan Singer, doesn't it?
