There is Still No Evidence of The SyFy Channel's Patented "God Awfulness" Being Turned Into a Multi-Platformed Media Empire

http://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Hammers-Sci-Fi-Channel-Backwater/dp/1441407286/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312992755&sr=1-1

"Multi-Platformed Media Empires" are hard to build. Especially when your starting point of origin (The SyFy Channel) is as badly managed and as God awful as it always have been.

Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have always had big...big....dreams for the SyFy Channel!! They want audiences of all demographic shapes and sizes to descend upon their network and give them the advertising revenue they feel they so richly deserve!! They want the SyFy Channel to be a point of origin of some sort for an ambiguous multi-platformed media empire encompassing their awful television programming, video games, cell phones, Ipods, the Internet, and anything else that turns teenagers on!!

Heck!! Bonnie Hammer, Daid Howe, and Mark Stern have been so serious about this ludicrous dream of theirs that two years ago....they took the first step in (what they believed to be!!) making this dream of theirs a reality!! They changed the name "Sci-Fi Channel".....to "SyFy Channel!!" Yep!! That oughta' do it!! A step like that should have instantaneously laid the concrete foundation for the SyFy Channel to magically begin its journey into an ambiguous global media platform of some sort!!

If this was the intended first step into such a metamorphosis...then Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern are very poor planners because two years after the name change...nothing has happened yet!! Not even a series of progressive steps into that direction!! Two years later, the SyFy Channel remains as it was two years ago. A poorly managed, backwater cable channel. Other than the name change, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have taken no further steps whatsoever (because they have been unable to do so?) to make this ambiguous and ludicrous dream of theirs a reality. Two years later...the SyFy Channel is not a multi-platformed media empire of any sort. Two years later, the SyFy Channel logo is still absent from video games, Ipods, apparel, shopping malls, or anything else this "Undynamic Mismanagement Trio" - (Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern) would fancy in their...."Empire."

Granted, "Multi-Platformed Media Empires" take a long time to build, but two years later, the "Undynamic Trio" still haven't laid any sort of realistic foundation for this dream of theirs. What are they waiting for? You don't have to be a marketing major to realize that something has gone terribly wrong with this dream of Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern. They have encountered a road block of some sort. I think the road block the three of them have encountered, is that you can't build a "Multi-Platformed Media Empire" on the back of a piss-pot little cable network notorious for bad producing, bad scriptwriting, and bad management in all of its television programming. In other words, you can't build "Multi-Platformed Media Empires"....from dust.

If the SyFy Channel had been a well managed cable network from day one....if Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern had been talented managers from day one then sure...they could have evolved the SyFy Channel into other components of a business of some sort. The three of them just don't get it. The three of them still don't realize it. Your starting point of origin (the SyFy Channel) has to be doing extraordinarily (and genuinely) well financially, creatively and critically (without the daily, laborious shenanigans of guerrilla style stealth marketing painting misleading mirages for the SyFy Channel) before you can begin building "Multi-Platformed Media Empires" from it.

Very few people on this Earth can successfully build "Multi-Platformed Media Empires." George Lucas has done it. Steven Spielberg could do it if he wanted to. James Cameron could do it if he wanted to. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern of the SyFy Channel??

DREAM ON!!

If the three of them were to instantaneously sprout intellectual talent then maybe.

The SyFy Channel Is Repeatedly Proving That Their Programming Has Extremely Narrow Appeal, In Only Certain Parts Of The World. Everywhere Else In The World, SyFy Channel Programming Has No Appeal At All, Such As In The United States

http://www.amazon.com/Caprica-Sucks-Channel-Misfires-Ronald/dp/1451556225/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312816296&sr=1-1

http://www.capricatimes.com/no-caprica-blu-ray-for-usa

What's the matter, SyFy Channel? There isn't enough of a market for "Caprica" to be released in North America on Blu-Ray? But this has always been a recurring problem for any television series conceived by Ronald D. Moore...isn't that right SyFy Channel? Narrow appeal. Lack of interest from syndication purchasers to buy Ronald D. Moore's "GINO" and "Caprica" series for "Syndication Stripping" - (showing episodes of a television series in consecutive order 5 days a week), his series are only marginally profitable in other parts of the world and not in North America, the pilot episodes of "GINO" and "Caprica" are routinely found in the discount DVD bins ($5.00) at Wal-Mart...and the season box sets of "GINO" and "Caprica" are usually sold at deep....deep....discounts on http://www.amazon.com/

It isn't that "GINO" and "Caprica" are infinitely more popular overseas than they are in the United States. It's that both series are slightly more than marginally....moderately... watchable overseas than they are in the United States. So...NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel misinterprets that as a sign as....."Hey!! Let's release "Caprica" on Blu-Ray in France!! It will be a huge hit!!" The fact of the matter is (at least from what I have observed)...NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel has been having a huge struggle in turning a profit from anything produced and written by Ronald D. Moore. The primary difficulty being....Ronald D. Moore's television series do not go over big.....(in any way)....in North America. In order to find narrow corridors of any audience Ronald D. Moore somehow manages to establish for himself...you have to look really hard (really  really hard)....in Germany....France.....Holland.....Ethiopia.....etc...etc....etc.

Why has Ronald D. Moore (as a producer / scriptwriter) failed to click with the overwhelming masses in North America? Aside from having no talent whatsoever in either category, the last thing audiences want to see in North America after going through 9/11 and endless economic problems....is Ronald D. Moore's melodramatic "doom and gloom" showcased with rape, murder, depression, back stabbing, etc...etc...etc. In this day and age, North American audiences want to be uplifted with upbeat fare such as Walt Disney movies. They don't want to be brought down into the depths of despair even further by any of the crap routinely offered by SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore. It might help SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore as well if they thought about casting actors and actresses who are physically attractive to mass market audiences in North America as well. Cast members North American...mass market audiences would enjoy looking at. Maybe keep Edward James Olmos in the unemployment line the next time around?

So...is it any wonder why "Caprica" for example...is only being released in France on Blu-Ray?

There simply isn't a market in North America or anywhere overseas (in acceptable numbers)...for anything the SyFy Channel does by itself....or with Ronald D. Moore.

Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern Are The Worst Television Programmers of All Time

So of course they ended up at once was the Sci-Fi Channel....Murphy's Law.

Hidden behind their collective psychological security blankets of...brand names...psychotronic marketing studies....expanding the empire (what empire?).....and bonding their unpopular television programs to non-existent audiences....are three self delusional business people who will go down in history (if they haven't done so already) as "The Worst Television Programmers of All Time."

Ever since the three of them arrived on the scene, the Sci-Fi Channel (SyFy) has had this odd, creepy feeling to it in its television programming. Primarily due to the fact that Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have these off-kilter sensibilities that have never jibed well with mass market, commercial audiences. What they consider funny ("Scare Tactics") comes across as psychological cruelty to mass market audiences. What they consider self congratulatory and brilliant (anything produced for the network by Ronald D. Moore) comes across as supremely boring, cruel, ego driven, and offensive to mass market, commercial audiences. What they consider perfectly compatible with a network supposedly fantasy based ("WWF Wrestling" and cooking shows) comes across instead as incredulous to mass market, commercial audiences and general all around common sense.

On the evidence of their eccentric television programming alone...Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern come across quite frankly....as very strange people. For whatever reason, the three of them have determined that the only way their network can exist from day to day...is to run the network in an extremely strange way. Every decision they make and have made never falls in line with general all around common sense and good taste for mass market, commercial audiences. Their decisions never even make sense to objective on-lookers who may be in the same business. The fundamental business lesson that Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern need to learn....is that it isn't enough...and it isn't good enough...that their business decisions merely make sense to the three of them alone. There has to be some general, all around compatibility and conformity to universally accepted parameters of television programming rooted in good taste and common sense.

In many ways, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern aren't qualified and genuine television programmers at all. They're flawed, technical statistic gatherers of some sort putting crap on the air that somehow falls in line with their flawed personal theories on marketing. Real television programmers listen to a pitch for a potential new television series and solely evaluate the potential of said television series based on its own, unique merits. Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern believe that any potential new television series should fit like a glove into the pre-established technical and marketing guidelines (as flawed as they are) they erroneously set up for the SyFy Channel. So in essence, you have a flawed plaster mold Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have set up for the SyFy Channel. If a potential new television series doesn't fit perfectly into that mold, it doesn't get on the SyFy Channel. This is what negatively separates and negatively differentiates Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern from the rest of their peers in the television programming profession. And why the programming on the SyFy Channel has been as bad as it has been, and always will be.

It also explains why Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern are the worst television programmers of all time.

"Blood & Chrome" is Missing From The SyFy Channel's Fall Schedule. Is There a God After All?

http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Studios-1978-Battlestar-Galactica/dp/1434895408/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312649076&sr=1-2

http://www.nbcumv.com/mediavillage/networks/syfy/pressreleases?pr=contents/press-releases/2011/08/02/syfysfallprogra1312307822974.xml

There are many things in life fundamentally incompatible with one another.

1. Peanut butter and spinach
2. Cheeze whiz and chocolate
3. Potato chips and strawberries
4. SyFy Channel and "Battlestar Galactica"

The general public has learned through experience that "no news is good news" when the two fundamentally incompatible entities of the ages....SyFy Channel and "Battlestar Galactica".....fail to deliver on an earlier annouced television movie, or any other project for that matter.

Conspicuously absent from the SyFy Channel's fall schedule is the "Blood & Chrome" pilot movie / stand alone movie...thingy....that SyFy Channel at an earlier date was hell bent determined to ram into existence despite the overwhelming commercial failures of both "GINO" and "Caprica."

Are we finally reaching the tail end of these stupid ass projects SyFy Channel rabidly rams into existence once they find out how much the general public hates them? No one in the general public domain ever asked for "Blood & Chrome" to exist. I don't recall the SyFy Channel ever receiving a permission slip from me or anyone else to make "Blood & Chrome."

In much broader terms, making a television movie ("Blood & Chrome") based upon two prior failures ("GINO", "Caprica") and applications of the same failed...shaky format is not good business sense. Of course, historically speaking...Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern have never been known for possessing and applying good business sense under any circumstance. And the intended "Blood & Chrome" movie is no exception.

This is probably (and unfortunately) another example of something being....too good to be true. The "Blood & Chrome" movie may very well slime its way on to the SyFy Channel schedule anywhere from January 2012 to June 2012. In the meantime, we can at least enjoy the fact that it won't be broadcast anytime this year.

Why Do The Cast Members of Every Single Bonnie Hammer Show Look And Act Like Overgrown Frathouse Roomies Who Never Graduated From College?

The criteria for being cast in a SyFy Channel show...is being in your mid, late 30s but looking like you just stormed off of your college campus in your sophomore year...because you just couldn't take the daily headaches anymore of...self discipline....and rules. What is it with Bonnie Hammer and these television shows of hers? Do her cast members always have to look and act like "Doogie Howser wannabes" with hyperactive thyroids?

Take her television show "Fact or Faked?" What is the setting for this unintentionally hilarious sitcom poorly disguised as a legitimate paranornal debunking program? A set that looks remarkably like an idealized college dorm room. The cast members sit around in this dorm room giving off the obvious vibes that they would much prefer to be talking about the good old days of college...before they dropped out....rather than discussing the paranormal cases they may or may not investigate displayed on their widescreen television.

For me, what ended any legitimacy these supposed professional paranormal debunkers may have had, was when they passed on doing an investigation into what looked like a pyramid shaped spacecraft hovering above the Kremlin in Moscow (with spotlights illuminating its underside), in favor of investigating some missing link in the woods. These aren't professionals....these are still college kids... mentally... who would much prefer to be sucking down some beers. If you were truly a paranormal / UFO debunker, wouldn't you get your ass over to Moscow as quickly as possible to investigate the more interesting of the two stories? And yes, the ultimate blame for passing on the Moscow story must be placed on the shoulders of the producers of  "Fact or Faked?"

In other odd instances, the cast members of "Fact or Faked" inexplicably get fired up (excited) over Youtube videos supposedly showing legitimate ghost footage...when the footage is obviously home made nonsense from children with camcorders. And these cast mambers actually waste two minutes of their lives debating whether or not they should investigate the footage. They get excited over these Youtube videos as any burnout college drop outs would. Other footage they display on their widescreen television (usually supposed UFO footage) is obviously CGI enhanced in some way...with them filling the air with endless...."Oooohhs!!"...and "Aaaahhhs!!" as the footage runs. These are adolescents in every sense of the word....Regardless of whether or not they are really scripted that way....or if that's how they really are.

I have never watched "Haven"....I have no intention of watching "Haven." Judging from the cast photo, the lot of them could do substitute hosting chores on "Fact or Faked?" because they are as interchangeable and faceless as the "Fact or Faked?" cast members in that "College Dorm Roomie...Overgrown Adolescent" sort of way. Complete with the guy on the far left looking like "Screech" from "Saved By The Bell."

Be Afraid...Be Very Afraid...When Bonnie Hammer Tries to Explain What She Does For a Living

Ummm...Bonnie? Is this why the USA Network and the SyFy Channel suck so much?

Bonnie Hammer talking about values? This coming from the same woman who implemented a guerrilla style stealth marketing campaign on Internet bulletin boards a decade ago (verbally attack the general public on those bulletin boards if they dared to express their honest, negative opinions of the crap Ronald D. Moore put on the air?)

Many negative things have been said about the garbage Bonnie Hammer puts on the air...on both the USA Network and the SyFy Channel. All of it true. It can also be said in all sincerity and honesty that at no time...have television viewers ever wanted to bond with a SyFy Channel television program or a USA Network television program.

.....It's too..."icky".....to even think about.

Does Bonnie Hammer Have Any Regrets Over Her Earlier Remark From a Decade Ago..."Fans Can't Drive The Creative Process?"

http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Studios-1978-Battlestar-Galactica/dp/1434895408/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312306499&sr=1-2

Perhaps the new mandate of Comcast should be...."Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern can't drive the creative process."

A decade ago...when Bonnie Hammer was cocky as hell and hadn't yet been acquainted with that side of herself as a business woman that routinely fails on a Godzilla-sized scale....she uttered the harbinger of what proved to be her business doom...."Fans can't drive the creative process"...in response to the overwhelming protests she received in going with Ronald D. Moore's bullshit take on "Battlestar Galactica."

What have we repeatedly seen when Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern "drive the creative process?" A sham rendition of "Battlestar Galactica" that doesn't make any money for NBC-Universal. A sham rendition of "Battlestar Galactica" hated by everyone in the general public domain. An overall schedule on the SyFy Channel not worth watching because it offends the senses in every conceivable way, and the SyFy Channel not making the kind of money it should be making.

Maybe Bonnie Hammer should have listened to the "Battlestar Galactica" fanbase a decade ago when they told her to do a continuation of the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series. She surely would not be in the financial black hole she has been in for the past decade with Ronald D. Moore's sham take on "Battlestar Galactica."

What has been proven in the past decade...is that Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern driving the creative process is not an acceptable alternative to a fanbase driving the creative process. The fanbase of the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series should have been driving the creative process at the Sci-Fi Channel for the past decade...because Bonnie Hammer and her entourage proved that they can't. And the proof that they can't...is that all of Ronald D. Moore's unsuccessful attempts to interpret the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series ("GINO", "Caprica", and the upcoming "Blood & Chrome") are either being sold (on DVD) at massive discounts on http://www.amazon.com/, or these series are rotting away in the NBC-Universal film vaults. Or "Blood & Chrome" will fall flat on its face as we fully expect it to do.

The blunt truth is....there is no commercial demand (and there has been no commercial demand) whatsoever for anything Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern conjure up when they "drive the creative process." When you're as untalented as these three are in the profession of having to provide financially successful, mass market enetertainment to the masses...it is indeed best that the three of them allow fanbases to "drive the creative process" at the SyFy Channel." Because if they keep going down the path they are going, the SyFy Channel will continue to appear as boring as it appears on their website, and the SyFy Channel will continue to be as boring as it actually is.

"Blood & Chrome" is not being looked forward to because once again...we have "Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern"......."driving the creative process." Because of this..."Blood & Chrome" will once again turn out to be...marginal television....boring television....repulsive television.

Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern could never be ambassadors for the Science Fiction fan community because they have never been in their corner. Just ask the fanbases of the "1978 Battlestar Galactica" series, "Farscape", and "Stargate." Their priorities as television programmers have always run in the opposite direction....Doing special favors for Ronald D. Moore....putting the types of programming on the air they only know how to put on the air....cooking shows....wrestling...and bad mouthing Science Fiction fanbases in interviews.
