Universal Studios Has Ultimately Revealed Itself to Be a Corporation Lacking The Drive, Desire, And Talent to Infuse Science Fiction & "Battlestar Galactica" With Any Sense of Fun and Originality

"A staggering lack of imagination and inspired thinking"...is an apt description of Universal Studios when it comes to their handling of Science Fiction and Fantasy overall ( the failed "The SyFy Channel") and their repeated, failed management of the "Battlestar Galactica" property.

While Universal Studios could argue that..."they are not in the business of making art but rather making money"...I dare say that Universal Studios has failed at both. What has differentiated Universal Studios from its corporate peers in Hollywood, is that Universal Studios has failed to acknowledge the reality and the necessity of commerce and art co-existing harmoniously together if you want to make serious money, and Universal Studios has repeatedly failed to demonstrate that commerce and art do indeed need to co-exist harmoniously, side by side with one another if you want to make serious money. Not the "Pocket Change" Universal Studios (NBC-Universal) is only ever able to scrape together in how they poorly manage the "SyFy Channel" and the "Battlestar Galactica" property.

It's common knowledge at this late date that everytime Universal Studios (NBC-Universal) attempts to tackle Science Fiction and / or "Battlestar Galactica" specifically, they immediately fall back on their old bad habits and reach out for the least talented "Rungs" at the bottom of the entertainment ladder (Bryan Singer, Ronald D. Moore, David Eick, Bonnie Hammer, David Howe, and Mark Stern.) There is a reason for this madness on the part of Universal Studios. These people are the cheapest people to hire (in Hollywood) to crank out what is supposed to be Science Fiction or "Battlestar Galactica." These people are cheap to hire because they have absolutely no talent, imagination, or inspired thinking whatsoever. There is absolutely nothing about these people cerebrally and / or intellectually that warrants high salaries. Every one of these people lack "Mass Market / Pop Culture" sensibilities when it comes to Science Fiction and "Battlestar Galactica." As a result, Universal Studios has utterly succeeded in keeping their corporate interpretations of Science Fiction and "Battlestar Galactica" as bottom of the barrel..."B-Movie Level Trash." Not making a significant dime for themselves in either area.

It would take the "A-List Talents" of Joss Whedon, J.J. Abrams, J. Michael Straczynski, James Cameron, and the great one...Steven Spielberg....to repair the damage NBC-Universal has done to Science Fiction ("The SyFy Channel") and the "Battlestar Galactica" property in order to position both on the necessary pedestals within our pop culture of making the kind of money both of them are fully capable of making if they both had "A-List Talents" owning and managing them.

NBC-Universal would never hire these people to tackle Science Fiction ("The SyFy Channel") and "Battlestar Galactica" because they are all "A-List Talents" (possessing talent, imagination, and inspired thinking) requiring huge salaries. And as we all know....NBC-Universal has always steered clear of huge salaries when it comes to Science Fiction and "Battlestar Galactica."

The general public will just continue to seek out (with their money in hand) "talent, imagination, and inspired thinking" from all of the other studios in Hollywood providing movies and television productions.
