No Third Season Of "Seaquest" On DVD For Us Here In The United States, Universal Studios?

Yes, season 3 of...."Seaquest".....sucked big time in comparison to the previous two seasons (but hey, doesn't just about everything you do Science Fiction related.....suck.....Universal Studios?)...

....but for those of who are...."Schlock Connoisseurs".....of bad Science Fiction television, we would like the third season of...."Seaquest"...released on DVD to complete our collections if you please.

The SyFy Channel's Erratic Programming Habits Continue To Bounce Around All Over The Map Like a Runaway Pinball

I will give the SyFy Channel credit for this one. This is an entertaining mini series based on a classic science fiction novel.

Even its recent efforts like..."Killjoys"....and..."The Expanse"....are big improvements over what they were showing in the past. Wrestling, and..."C.S.I."....reruns.

But for every two or three steps the SyFy Channel takes in the right direction with its programming, it takes huge steps back by remaining in the gutter with junk like...."Z Nation"...."C.S.I."....reruns,..."Sharknado".... and wrestling. If wrestling is even on the channel anymore. Old habits die hard I guess.

The SyFy Channel's bad programming habits are like a pinball bouncing all over the place in subject matter, not just Science Fiction.

Coming Soon From The SyFy Channel...."Jesse Lee James"

(New York) Coming soon from the SyFy Channel, the network that never does Science Fiction on its own unless all of the other cable networks are doing it first...but even then we still suck at it....

...comes another repetitive excursion into female character banality on the SyFy Channel. Fasten your seat belts in your reclining chairs for..."The Adventures of Jesse Lee James"...

Yes, Jesse Lee James...the great granddaughter of legendary outlaw Jesse James comes to the SyFy Channel in a contemporary setting because we at SyFy could never afford to do an actual full blown western set in the old west with horses, steam trains, extras in full cowboy wardrobe, and actually firing six shooters. The production costs would be so outrageous.

Jesse Lee James wants to clear the name of her great grandfather tarred and feathered in the past, by doing good in the present. That helps us at SyFy cut down on production costs by just doing location shooting in Vancouver, British Columbia....and the bargain basement soundstages there.

Join Jesse as she fights crime as a member of the...."Homicide Squad"...of the Vancouver Police Department. Occasionally strapping on non-firing six shooters and shoving her cell phone aside for theatrical effect, Jesse battles the supernatural and the ongoing limited budget of the SyFy Channel in this exciting new series. Her partners in crimefighting...District Attorney Barbie Lax-Case... and... Police Chief Slag Iron Rail of the Chipewta Tribe....fight the ogres and demons they occasionally encounter working homicide on the streets of Vancouver.

We at SyFy won't call the city Vancouver in the series. After holding a raffle and receiving thousands of entries from our viewers for the best name of this fictitious city, we at SyFy chose the entry of Chet "Nimrod" Cruiser from Battle Creek Michigan. Yes, the name of Jesse Lee James home city will be...."The City"....

Much the same way SyFy chose the title..."The Second One"....for the second..."Sharknado"....movie after receiving thousands of entries for that contest.

Just don't start jumping on us here at SyFy about our staggering lack of imagination in coming up with movie titles and other proper nouns. We hate that!!

The SyFy Channel's "Vanessa Helsing" And "Wynonna Earp" Characters Will No Doubt Become Humanized As Time Goes On

The CW's "IZombie's Olivia Moore" character started off as a rather frightening looking creature of the night.

She now is a less frightening...everyday looking contemporary gal who effortlessly blends in with the rest of the population with her everyday clothing, cell phone, and wants & desires just like every other female. While she is eating the brains of dead people at the morgue where she works.

"Vanessa Helsing" will no doubt start off as a kick ass, martial arts expert, slaying vampires with high tech weaponry and swords....

....Who will eventually mutate into a fashion designer at night who likes...."pretty, petite things"....

"Wynonna Earp" will no doubt start off as a sword wielding...laser pistol trigger happy slayer of monsters the SyFy Channel really couldn't depict on screen realistically with their budget...

....to a "Hooters" waitress ultimately....

Another Promising Concept The SyFy Channel Will Muck Up

1. For starters, this series screams..."The SyFy Channel simply doesn't have a large enough budget by a long shot to do this great concept justice." A period piece set in the wild west. To my knowledge, there are no western town studio back lots in Vancouver, British Columbia. What then? Expensive CGI backdrops? Elaborate monster makeups. Who is going to do the elaborate makeups? The same crackerjack makeup team at..."Asylum Films"...continuing to underwhelm us with their work on..."Z Nation?"...Does the SyFy Channel or anyone they are associated with in Vancouver have access to horses and horse wranglers to get the horses trained and the cast members on horseback? Stunt men to stage the elaborate fights expected?

2. This concept and series needs someone with a certain creative off kilter attitude to be in charge of every aspect of production, like Sam Raimi. Raimi could do this concept justice with his wild, airborne cameras dipping and diving through all of the action. Look at the beautiful job he is doing on the Starz network's...."Ash vs Evil Dead"....series.... "Wynonna Earp".... also needs that wacky and inspired storytelling style of Sam Raimi's.

3. The usual and familiar contract players of the SyFy Channel's actors and actresses showing up in this series won't make the characters come to life. Tricia Helfer, Lucy Lawless, and Dean Stockwell need not even be called for starring or guest starring roles.

4. Cameras mounted on the back of trucks filming actors speeding along on horseback and speeding alongside old fashioned steam trains. Who is going to build the old fashioned train? Do they have the money to build one? Get one out of mothballs from..."Brisco County Jr.?'"....Maybe use the one from Seth MacFarlane's..."A Million Ways To Die In The West?"....

5. A western wardrobe. The off the rack business suits of Ronald D. Moore's laughable "GINO" - (Galactica In Name Only) low rated series and the jump suits from all of the other SyFy Channel's productions won't save the SyFy Channel this time. Yes, the SyFy Channel will actually have to finance an originally designed western wardrobe this time. Wynonna Earp will have to have a unique cowboy and probably tomboyish look to her in western duds. Extras will all have to dressed in cowboy hats, holsters, six shooters, etc. I'm sure there's a country and western clothing store somewhere in Vancouver filled with all of the cowboy clothing necessary to come to the SyFy Channel's rescue.

6. Cast members will have to be taught how to fire six shooters. A firearms expert will be needed to train them. Let me guess, the guns all fire laser beams? Post production inserts!!

The SyFy Channel has basically committed itself to doing a western ( a major and expensive production in itself) with expected elaborate monster makeups. Who is going to pay for such a production with the budget necessary to do it right?

Let me guess. The SyFy Channel will solve all of these forbidden expenses by just setting Wynonna Earp in the present day. She carries a cell phone and a six shooter at her side. She has a downtown apartment, has a roommate named Trixie who works in a donut shop, and takes a cab to go and fight the monsters. Ronald D. Moore's infamous business suits will once again creep into the proceedings because after all, Wynonna Earp will probably be set in the present day.

This Is Actually A Pretty Good Concept. But This Is How The SyFy Channel Will Muck It Up

Status Report: How The SyFy Channel Will "Muck Up" Vanessa Helsing.

1. It will be indistinguishable from the dozens of other low budget..."Post - Apocalyptic Vampire / Zombie / Everybody Dressed In Rags and leather"....horror movies / series knocked out in the past 20 years.

2. Stars and guest stars will be vaguely noticeable from other SyFy Channel productions.

3. This show won't chart new unseen and exciting territory in vampire legends, and won't bring anything new and exciting to the "Van Helsing" character myth.

4. Vanessa Helsing will ultimately be a love sick woman who wants to give up vampire hunting in order to settle down with a man. In other words, it will eventually mutate into a viewer friendly show for teenage girls. The Hallmark Channel movie crowd.

5. Boredom will set in after the second or third episode, with strong indications of the upcoming boredom in the pilot episode.

6. The budget won't be there for location shooting and exotic makeups you have never seen before.

7. Too many episodes will focus on Vanessa Helsing sitting indian style talking with other boring characters about generic local customs and stock characters she encounters every week.

8. She will have a younger female protege and a hip male, fast talking companion. Sort of like Xena - Warrior Princess.

9. There will be flashbacks to her grandfather (Van Helsing) doing boring things during a boring story.

10. There will be the inevitable story where she encounters her evil self, a doppelganger. Actually one of the sinister vampires in disguise who want to trick her into doing something sinister against her will.
