What's the difference between Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios? Paramount Pictures knows how to build on the legacy of "Star Trek" decade after decade. Universal Studios consciously and subconsciously has torn down "Battlestar Galactica" brick by brick decade after decade. Primarily motivated by malice.
Imagine if..."Battlestar Galactica"....had simply been owned by a corporation with a shred of intelligence (and sanity) for the past 38 years. It would be further along than it is now with 38 years worth of quality merchandise backing it up.
You see? Universal Studios can't even allow a little..."Battlestar Galactica"....film clip to be shown on http://www.youtube.com in the United States. Tightwads and stingy asses if you ask me.

And read the books at another location where Universal Studios and its stealth marketers won't be able to post negative, misleading (stealth marketed) reviews of the books via them purchasing candy and Rogaine Foam on Amazon.com (allowing them access to the book review section) and not actually buying and reading the books.
