Ronald D. Moore Reflects On "GINO" - (Galactica In Name Only.) The Show That Meant So Much To Him, The SyFy Channel, And Its "Stealth Marketers"

The..."Mass Market General Public"....paid scant to no interest in..."GINO." Thus, it's low ratings for four straight seasons.

Let this be a lesson to NBC-Universal / SyFy Channel. If you make television programs not geared towards mass market acceptance and instead consent to make them just for a small group of people I can count on both hands....you get everything you deserve...business wise.

"Though there have been attempts to create other science fiction shows in the years since "Battlestar Galactica," none have ever quite resonated in the same way. When asked if he is surprised there haven't been more shows following in its footsteps, Moore says, "I thought it might have sparked more, but it's been interesting that it hasn't. I don't know. I'm not sure what to make of that."

Really? Ronald D. Moore doesn't know what to make of the fact that no one has tried to emulate "GINO" in a new television series. Really??

Well, in the real business world in which we all live (the real business world in which the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore do not live in where they both don't pay attention to low ratings)...."GINO"....was a flop, a turkey, a pile of turds, and a mass market failure. People in the real business world do not emulate television series that flopped in the ratings. That's why no one has followed in the footsteps of Ronald D. Moore and why Ronald D. Moore is still a relative unknown television producer a decade after..... "GINO".....

Would the Captain of an ocean liner chart the same course that led to the...."Titanic".....crashing into that iceberg? That's why no one is following you and your show, Ron. No one wants to crash and burn in the ratings the way...."GINO" - (Galactica In name Only).....did.



Notice the derision coming from David Letterman's studio audience towards... "GINO"... during the entire span of the....."Top 10 List." This isn't a studio audience bowing at the feet of..."GINO"....worshipping...."GINO"...or being captivated by...."GINO"...This is a studio audience ridiculing...."GINO."

This was...."GINO's"....first and only exposure to the real world outside of the protective womb of the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore. It wasn't a pretty sight, was it?

How many behind the scenes people on David Letterman's show had their heads in their hands counting the seconds until this highly awkward and unanticipated non-welcome from the studio audience would finally be over with?

 How many were saying to each other...."God, we shouldn't have booked them for this?"

This is the real world....the real business world....that.."GINO"...got a taste of and couldn't survive in. The real business world the SyFy Channel and Ronald D. Moore do not exist in and ignore.

This video is even embarrassing to watch, isn't it?

If the..."GINO"....cast members had stayed on stage much longer, David Letterman's Security Team would have had to prevent lynch mobs from forming.

This was like the world premiere of...."Heaven's Gate"....back in 1980.

And read these books at another location where Universal Studios executives and its stealth marketers won't be able to post negative, misleading (stealth marketed) reviews of the books via them purchasing candy and Rogaine Foam on Amazon.com (allowing them access to the Amazon book review section) and not actually buying and reading the books. I'll leave the other 150 global locations under wraps for now.
