My Question Is..."Why Did The SyFy Channel Push Viewers Away In The First Place?"

http://www.ew.com/article/2014/10/28/syfy

“We saw an explosion of sci-fi/fantasy content across every cable and broadcast network out there,” said Syfy president Dave Howe. “Perceptions of the genre have shifted dramatically. What that speaks to is an opportunity to re-own the genre and be at the forefront of high-end buzzy, provocative storytelling — and the epiphany of that was Battlestar.”

So in other words, David Howe saw everybody else doing his job on other cable networks. The job he was supposed to be doing all along at the SyFy Channel.

Does this network (SyFy) have any idea how screwy and "Fu**ed" up they are....The very idea of a cable network that was supposed to be Science Fiction all along and abandoning such programming...and then looking around at the other cable networks that aren't Science Fiction in their on-air identities, doing shitloads of Science Fiction? And doing it really well. Basically these other cable networks have been doing the SyFy Channel's job for them. And then the SyFy Channel suddenly decides to.... COPY... what these other cable networks are doing really well (Science Fiction) out of....JEALOUSY....

The SyFy Channel is basically....JEALOUS....of what they should have been doing all along.

Let's also not forget that this channel (SyFy) has had no great love for the Science Fiction genre and its fans as well. Repeatedly (even at this late date) referring to the Science Fiction fans as...."GEEKS"..."NERDS"....and I quote here directly from the corporate mouth of the SyFy Channel in the decade of the 2000s...."Still living in their parents basements".....

I'll tell you what's wrong with the SyFy Channel, and it goes way beyond its incredulous lack of Science Fiction programming for years while simultaneously airing junk like wrestling and..."Sharknado"....

These people (NBC-Universal, Vivendi-Universal) never should have bought the Sci-Fi Channel in the first place back in the late 1990s. It was an..."Unsuitable Corporate Fit"....from day one. These people who bought it clearly didn't fit in with Science Fiction, didn't fit in with the thought processes of Science Fiction fans, were not suitable owners for such a channel, and the millions of viewers this channel lost because of it and will never get back is proof as to why these people never should have bought this channel.

This channel would have made money hand over fist over the years as purely a Science Fiction
channel if it were owned and operated by Science Fiction fans who clearly love the genre. That's where the money would have come from. Love of the genre.

"What that speaks to is an opportunity to re-own the genre and be at the forefront of high-end buzzy, provocative storytelling — and the epiphany of that was Battlestar.”

Even at this late date, the SyFy Channel is the only entity on this Earth holding any fond memories of its failed remake attempt of..."Battlestar Galactica"...infamously known as...."GINO" - (Galactica in Name Only)

“We saw an explosion of sci-fi/fantasy content across every cable and broadcast network out there,” said Syfy president Dave Howe. “Perceptions of the genre have shifted dramatically.

Now here is something truly outrageous. The president of what was supposed to be a Science Fiction cable network all along admitting that the only time he puts Science Fiction programming on the air, is when it is doing really well on other cable networks. In other words, he waits for temporary and favorable surges in marketing trends to exist before he puts Science Fiction on what is supposed to be a Science Fiction cable network all of the time, regardless of favorable marketing trends. In the mean time, he puts junk on the air (not Science Fiction related) such as..."Sharknado"....and wrestling.

This would be like Animal Planet only putting animal related programming on the air if there are temporary and favorable surges in marketing trends allowing them to do so. Or The Weather Channel only putting weather related information on the air if there is a temporary market for it. In the meantime, both channels show porn while waiting for the next favorable and temporary surge in marketing trends to exist, which would allow them to show the content of what their channels are supposed to be.

This is where the SyFy Channel separates from its broadcasting peers via the fork in the road. All other cable channels always show precisely the contents of what their cable channels are supposed to be (always related to their specific on air identities), regardless of temporary and favorable surges in marketing trends.

Read the books Universal Studios has tried and failed to censor on Amazon.com...

And read these books at another location where Universal Studios executives and its stealth marketers won't be able to post negative, misleading (stealth marketed) reviews of the books via them purchasing candy and Rogaine Foam on Amazon.com (allowing them access to the Amazon book review section) and not actually buying and reading the books. I'll leave the other 150 global locations under wraps for now.
